This place is open 24 hours so no matter what time you have the munchies or have a caffeine craving you can surely know this place will save you. We came in to order some small coffees and a couple of empanadas. The service from the lady employees is great and they are highly attentive. Having a pinecrest bakery so close to my house is both thrilling and terrifying at the same time. I do like having my lazy weekend breakfast here because they got this fire af spinach croqueta that makes me feel better about myself. I will say the parking/driveway situation is awkward because it's in the same location as a former gas station so you're either involuntarily hogging up the open spots or setting yourself up to be blocked. I personally walk here but during rainy days, it's nice to have the option of just pulling up. It is centrally located on the northeastern tip of the gables making it convenient for a quick pit stop. This casual and reliable chain of bakeries has slowly been popping up all over South Florida and its clear to see why: reliable Cuban baked goods, varied menu, good prices, late hours. Came here last night and the 2 women working here were so rude. Took 15 minutes to get two sandwiches and the place was empty. When I asked what the delay was they gave the nastiest attitude and it turns out one of the sandwiches was just sitting at the window getting cold while they were both doing nothing and being as slow as possible . I'll begin by saying the food at Pinecrest bakery is good food. Nothing over the top but it's good food for your price point. But the service at this Pinecrest Bakery is absolutely awful. These workers there don't even treat you like a human being. Just another automated number in a sea of people. I had a VERY unpleasant experience with the Pinecrest Bakery on Kendall and I figured I'd try once again in Coral Gables. To give them another try. Again the workers in there just don't give a crap about you. I ordered some food through the Pinecrest Bakery website and even gave them an hour before I came to pick it up. Upon my arrival, I asked for my food and they told me someone else had come with a confirmation (Clearly fake) code and had taken my food. I tried to be reasonable and understood that they were fooled and I requested my food be made immediately. They said that they could only do that if I showed them my confirmation on my phone. I told them that I only brought my I.D with me and left my phone at home. They told me they couldn't give me the food without my confirmation code. I looked at them completely in shock. Are you serious I asked them? Someone just finished robbing you blind doing the SAME exact thing and you didn't verify their identity and now you're doing it to me who as from showing you my I.D is the SAME PERSON WHO IS ON THE RECEIPT. My name is literally on the receipt. It was for a PICK UP. NOT A DELIVERY. Who are these people who work at this place? I had the very unfortunate encounter by the manager named Christian and he wouldn't understand or buldge about it. He made me leave store and go back to my home to pick up my phone and come back before he'd release to me the food that I PAID FOR. This is totally ridiculous. Stay away from this Pinecrest Bakery and imo Pinecrest Bakery in general. I tried giving them multiple chances and this is the last one for me. I'm never coming back here. The service was good, the lady taking my order was very nice. As a Cuban that lives far far away from all Cuban food (), I eat Cuban food every chance I can when back in Florida or Vegas. With that being said, I have very high standards for Cuban food so I probably wouldn't return to this bakery. We got the Medianoche and Cuban Sandwich here and while my Caucasian boyfriend was satisfied, I was not. The meat in the sandwiches was like deli meat and way too much of it. I don't think there was any pork in them. And it wasn't even warmed all the way through. Honestly probably one of the worst Cuban/midnight sandwiches i've ever eaten /: We also got a dozen croquetas and a dozen guava and cheese pastelitos. The croquetas were decent but also not warmed all the way through. The pastelitos were good as well but not enough guayaba in them. Still yummy though, always my fav thing to get from Cuban bakeries. The cafe con leche was good and my bf got orange juice (we listen and we don't judge ). With all of that, I spent about $80 after tip. First time here. I was quite impressed with the amount of beautiful and tempting desserts but was looking for something small to have for dinner. I was offered "cachitos de jamón y queso". Awesome. I grew up eating those in Venezuela. Well, these are not what I remember. The cheese was missing, the dough tastes weird (a chemical aftertaste) and the meat is a sad excuse for ham: looks like they chopped some pork and threw it in there. Not good at all.
