Cute cafe! After we ate sushi at a Japanese restaurant across from this cafe, we decided to visit Calamillor to have some coffee. We told our waitress that we just ate and wanted to have some coffee. And immediately she wasn't happy about it. She threw the cafe menu to our table. We were not happy about her attitude but the coffee was excellent! We shared a cake and it was delicious! Another male waiter who didn't speak any English was very friendly! We tried to communicate with a little Spanish and English.

Great meal at CalaMillor. I had only been to this place for breakfast. My wife and I were in the mood for some Spanish Tapas and this place is close (and on InKind) so we decided to go. The restaurant is very nice. Not upscale or stuffy but bright and clean with a nice energetic vibe. The food was very good (see pics). We had already tried their croquettes so we decided to try some new dishes we hadn't had there before. We started with a carafe of their Red Sangria. Very good sangria and while $48, we got about 6 glasses out of it and that's pretty good (sells at $13 by the glass). We love Manchego so got a 'tabla' (tray) of that. We also ordered 'Huevos Rotos' (translated to 'broken eggs' - eggs and ground chorizo over Spanish fried potatoes, awesome!), and maybe the best Gambas al Ajillo (Shrimp in Garlic Oil) i have ever had. The Goat Cheese Salad was delicious and came with candied walnuts and a very healthy serving of goat cheese. The Tomato Bread (Pan al Tomaquet) was my wife's favorite. For dessert we had a delicious Torrija Tres Leches - which is like a bread pastry filled with custard (Crema Catalana) and torched to caramelize the sugar. Great meal and very attentive service from Janiel! Tapas were $18-$24, bread was $8, dessert was $12. Great meal. I would reacommend trying this place out.

The food was amazing and the service too. Loved the eclectic, casual decor. Xavier did an awesome job explaining the menu options.

A good legit spanish restaurant, food, service and ambiance are good. Portions so so with mid category pricing. The parking? watch out the south miami parking police are out there if you pass 1 minute to fine you with no exceptions even if you arrive when getting ticketed like us. I had a typical spanish breakfast, serrano ham, egg white, house potatoes & avocado, toast with a bon bon coffee, no dessert. About $80 for 2, food, tip, taxes.

If you're Old school Miami, you'll remember the corner of Bird Road and 57th Avenue as Allen's Drugs, a retro pharmacy with a lunch counter. It's been modernized to a glass, storefront and brightly lit Spanish restaurant from where you can also buy wine and pastries for your own party. I stopped recently for some tapas, and I have to say it was a very good experience, a very yummy dinner. Although they have a full entrée menu, I just went for tapas. My starter was their Huevos Estrellados; always a favorite! Unlike chain Spanish restaurants, here it starts with a base of real thinly sliced potatoes. I asked for both chorizo and Cinco Jotas ham, and had it topped with a sunny side up egg. My other favorite was their Angus beef stuffed piquillo peppers, with a yummy and mildly sauce. My basque cheesecake - nice and moist inside - made for a sweet closing. Portions were big enough that I had leftovers for lunch. Service was pleasant and timely. They were attentive to detail enough that although normally their six croqueta order includes two cod, two chorizo & two jam, they switched mine to make it three chorizo and three jam. I would definitely come back!

Very sano spanish joint with everything you would expect..octopus, tapas, tortilla de patatas, great wine. Breakfast is the best here. Best service, very clean place. Bathrooms too !

Stumbled on to this gem of a restaurant after a visit to Quest Diagnostics across the street on Bird Road. Very classy Spanish establishment with excellent pastries, wine and food. I'm sitting next to the pastry case and cannot take my eyes off of the Black Forest and Guava Cheese croissant--all baked on premise. I was here for breakfast and found the dish with scrambled eggs, toast, potatoes and smoked salmon at $21 to be not only tasty but a good value. Quality ingredients throughout. They even serve the highest quality of Spanish jamon on the market--Cinco Jotas. I will definitely be adding Cala Millor to my rotation and plan on coming back for lunch, happy hour and/or dinner.

Don't walk, run to this hidden gem. I LOVE this place and I am a regular. Everything here is fresh and delicious. Customer service is excellent and they are attentive. Their paella says for 2 people, but it is such a large portion, 4-5 people can easily share this if they eat one plate each! It's really tasty and well made. The appetizers I've had were croquetas and prosciutto ibérico. Both delicious! Croquetas are crispy inside and soft mix inside - my favorite flavor is the jamon (ham). The cod flavor one is a close second! The prosciutto ibérico was delicious as well and shareable. My brother in law had a cheeseburger and it looked well constructed. He said it was an excellent entree choice, juicy and delicious! I gotta try this another time! My mother in law had breakfast entree with eggs and bacon. She loved it! My husband and I stop here for coffee all the time. I get lattes and he gets espresso. We loveeeee the coffee here. My lattes taste so smoooth, love it! Dessert - pistachio ice cream is really good. But the star of the show is the BASQUE CHEESECAKE!!! it is my absolute favorite dessert I keep coming back to eat. I've purchased a whole basque cheesecake to bring over to a family gathering and it was a HIT! Everyone loved it and finished the whole thing. In conclusion, the vibe, atmosphere, customer service, decor and food here is SPECTACULAR!!! 10/10!!!

Had breakfast at CalaMillor on a recent Friday morning. The staff was friendly and welcoming. We were seated quickly. The restaurant was very clean, bright and airy. Parking was a bit of a walk but not terrible. The baked goods looked amazing but we didn't try any. We had the ham croquettes, patatas brava, eggs with Serrano ham and the iberico tomato toast. We also ordered an espresso and cappuccino. Everything was pretty good, but not great. The coffees however were outstanding! So good that we had to ask what coffee brand they used. Not sure we'd return for the food but we would definitely return for the coffee. I honestly think Bulla is far superior to CalaMillor. The food is better and the prices are as well.

If you take anything from this review, it's try their Smash Burger. Top tier. Competes with some of the best I've ever had, including Apocalypse BBQ, Vice Versa, and Cowie Burger. The patties are smashed with crisp, lacy edges. Cheese is melted flawlessly, helped by a creamy sauce that gives everything this extra rich finish. You also get a subtle sweet-onion note. We've also tried the octopus and the cachopo. They were solid, but the burger is the clear winner here. No free parking, but the burgers worth it!!

What an incredible experience! This restaurant gets a 10/10. There is nothing that we did not like. The ambiance is excellent. They even considered the acústica. Our server Janiel was friendly, funny and very helpful. The food was incredible. We had a pitcher of red sangria that was delightful and served about 4 glasses each (2 of us). We had the octopus in a creamy potato that was amazing. You would never have guessed it was potato. It was creamy and the octopus was cooked to perfection. We also had a cheese and ibérico ham that was to die for. We shared a shrimp and octopus paella style rice that was amazing. The seafood was fresh and perfectly cooked. The rice was soupy as it should be and perfectly seasoned. For dessert we had a basque cheese cake that I could not describe. All I can say is I do not really like cheese cake and this is now my favorite dessert. Our server brought us some guava to put on the dessert and OMG! Amazing! I have not had such a perfect dinning experience in a while! Calamillor, you out did yourself and you have gained a returning client! The experience was so great, I forgot to take pics of all y dishes!

So overall, not bad. Great service. Cheese and jamon platter not worth it, just some manchego pieces with assorted salami and jamon. The burger tho, worth it, definitely get that. Don't really need a reservation, this place doesn't get filled as much.

Came here for a late breakfast and was starving. Menu is definitely interesting One minute I'm looking at breakfast options like croissants to grillled octopus and table served paella. We saw some friends and were invited to join the table. This was great cause the place was packed and had a wait, good sign. We started with the fish croquetta's with cafe con leche. Perfect amount of salt and not greasy. The plain croissant was huge and crispy. I opted for something completely different t for myself and went with the tuna sandwich that came with a wild salad. It was delish. The tuna had the right amount of may and veggies along with the toasted perfectly thick bread and the salad was the perfect compliment. Around the table there was chorizo croquetta's, Nutella croissants, a.d this egg and chorizo dish that my dad devoured. So yeah, brunch was great. Stop by and check it out.

Arroz con leche. A bit too runny for my taste.

So after a yelp review of the tapas scene, I landed at Bulla Gastrobar in Coral Gables. A slight drive from the downtown area but proved to be so worth it. Once we arrived we were seated immediately and greeted by our beautiful, friendly and knowledgeable server Melody. After she explained the menu and made recommendations, she offered to course our plates out accordingly so it wouldn't arrive all at once. Five stars to Melody for taking great care of us. Now to the food... We started things off with the pan con tomate with Serrano Ham and manchego cheese. Although this is a staple of tapas dining in Spain I had never tried it and was impressed with the depth of flavor and the different notes that it offered. It was excellent and I highly recommend it. Next was the gambas al ajillo which are broiled shrimp in a garlicky pepper butter sauce. These were also excellent, so much so we ordered another batch, Then we tried the Albondigas which were Pork and beef meatballs, with manchego, tomate sauce. These were good but proved to be our least favorite of everything we tried. Next was the datiles rellenos which were bacon wrapped dates with a small salad. These were very good Lastly we ordered the Serrano ham croquettes which came with a wonderful fig jam. These proved to steal the show. Hands down 5 stars! Because it was happy hour until 7pm, I got a Spanish beer (Mahou) and a wonderful glass of Malbec for $6 each. The total bill for all this before tip was $112 which was well worth it for an extraordinary meal with great variety. I highly recommend this restaurant!

For dessert, I ordered the panna cotta, which in texture and presentation was closer to a mousse than a traditional panna cotta, but honestly, it didn't matter. Whether you call it a panna cotta or a mousse, the flavor was incredible and the texture was lovely, finished with a bright, tangy mango topping that tied it all together. Served underneath the 2 sauces. * I ordered Grilled Chicken with salad. I was taken aback by the server for food shaming me to order something pricier, not just basic chicken. That's not cool. I also got a side of * Patatas - fried steak fries, very crunchy paired well with our food. For dessert we had * Crema Catalana, which is a Spanish syle Crème brûlée. This dessert has probably been the smallest dessert I've ever ordered. Not to mention, the consistency, the taste and color was all wrong. It was as if you had a Jello vanilla pudding with a miniscule amount of hardened caramelized sugar. Definitely not getting this desert again. I'd like to try the Tarta de Santiago next time. Once our food arrived the Flamenco show began and it was glorious!! The lead male vocalist was phenomenal! His vocal range and guitar skills were admirable. The show began with singing first and then the dancer started. She was a personable, very talented dancer and performer. At one point she locked eyes with me and before I knew it I was up there dancing with her, which was so much fun! I really enjoyed this restaurant and recommend it to open minded people who enjoy food from Spain.

First things first: if you want their Spanish tortilla with chorizo, you have to order it ahead of time. Same-day they usually only have the regular tortilla available, so plan ahead -- and trust me, it's worth it. Thick, soft, perfectly layered potatoes and egg with that extra smoky chorizo flavor that takes it to another level. A true comfort dish done right. Their tortilla is one of their staples for a reason. We also ordered a variety of croquetas: jamón serrano, queso manchego, camarones, and bacalao. Honestly, all of them were good (and I mean all), but the bacalao croquetas? Wow. Next level. Super creamy inside, crispy outside, packed with flavor -- easily my favorite of the table. And because it was Mother's Day, dessert was mandatory. Everyone ordered something different: flan with almond ice cream, crema catalana, Basque-style cheesecake, and I went for the Tarta San Marcos. I'm not Spanish, so it was my first time trying it, and I was pleasantly surprised. It's made with layers of sponge cake, cream, chocolate truffle -- but somehow it doesn't feel too heavy. The waiters were really nice and always attentive but the food just didn't meet our expectations.

I love the spinach ones, and my husband is all about the meat which he can't get enough of. We came as a group of six, and everything was timed perfectly. Drinks came first, then appetizers, and just as we finished, the main courses arrived so we could enjoy everything at the perfect temperature without feeling rushed. I had the mushroom ravioli so so good and perfect for vegetarian option. My husband and friends loved the NY strip steak and the chicken milanese. Can't wait to come back and try more from the menu!

I took advantage of their 4 course $60 dinner special (not listed on their website but offered every day, including weekends) and went with the Caesar Salad, 14 oz skirt steak, fries and flan. Each dish was very good, the steak was cooked a perfect medium rare, the fries were crispy and good, and the flan was probably the best I've ever had. I enjoyed a very good glass of Malbec reserve with my meal. La Cabrera also offers a $39 lunch special. Ambiance was charming and the service was also very good. Far superior choice, food wise, to Chop.
