We sat inside. Many screens: baseball and hockey tonight. My husband had surf and turf with Chimichuri sauce over garlic mashed and my son had quesadillas with guac and salsa. Both were very well presented and tasted fine. I had the Italian Grinder sub, cold with a decent size side salad chopped small, fair. The sub had crumbling pale white soft bread as the roll. If a restaurant serves a sub they should make sure the roll is decent. I don't know why it is such an issue to not serve a hard roll. An Italian or French baguette would have made the sandwich!! That's the Italian way!! It said vinaigrette on the roll but it was the exact same dressing as the Italian dressing on the salad which I guess is okay. The guys had Florida Ale and Sailfish IPA. I had Pinot Noir, meh...fair. I will go back and just not order the "Grinder Italian sub" and I'll order an IPA. Overall nice airy place, clean with outdoor seating. Looking forward to another visit. Stopped in for lunch after it's been a minute since my last visit and went straight for the wings special -- dry rub wings with a side of tots because of adulting! Service was pleasant, the outside patio was clean, and the wings came out looking like they were ready for a photo shoot. When I bit in... Juicy, crispy, well-seasoned, full of flavor. Exactly what I signed up for. One of the wings had a little... internal monologue going on (aka a tiny bit of blood). I set that particular wing aside for a few minutes like it was in "timeout" (pun intended) and, to be fair, it was cooked through. I decided not to include that as a picture. Could've used another couple minutes in the fryer though. Anyone who's ever fried frozen wings knows that's a high-risk, high-reward situation. I've lived that life. As someone who can't have alcohol when I'm with friends, I really appreciated the great selections other bars tend to lack. The dirty root beer is my new favorite drink and I miss it every day I'm away from Florida. Tonite was pretty crappy. We sat inside and for some reason the bartender/ server avoided us like we had a plaque. Place was not busy when we arrived around 5:45pm. She stated, her and other male bartender would be our servers and we did not see her after placing order until it was time to pay, which she almost harassed us by constantly coming over to collect. We purposely sat there for 15 minutes and then flopped cash down to avoid the 3% card fee. Which incidentally we finally got a hold of the male to ask what the connivence fee of 3% was and he was very rude by saying thats what we charge to use card since they charge us. Well, because of the rudeness and NOT even checking on us after someone else bought our food to us and the fee their tip was cut in half to 10%. One good thing is "no tax on tips" The main thing that got to us was they appeared to have regulars or the bigger groups of four or more were gaining attention what appeared to be every 5 minutes. We actually sat for 10 minutes with empty drinks until I waived the female over after she was leaving the big group. I am sad because my favorite Italian sandwich which is awesome was cold as well as the fries even after she asked if I wanted it hot or cold; of course only way to go is hot. I stated to her when we asked for check and to go box, but she didn't care. Wholly crap, after talking with wife we agree that the potato skins were burnt and just thrown in almost what looked like a pile. Bacon only on 3 skins and cheese slopped on. I would like to know what the bartender said to cook for them to mess our food up so badly this time around. I am soooo sad because this was my last favorite place in town. I went 2 times before and had a decent meal. No problems. Then recently went with hubby and 2 friends. I ordered the ribs and chicken with Teriyaki. The chicken was good but the ribs were leather! I tried to cut a piece off the bone and then tried to chew it. No way. I spit it in my napkin. It was unchewable. So I asked the waitress if I could have a piece of chicken to trade for the rib. She saw me trying to poke the fork into the ribs and it wouldn't go through. She said sure. She came back with the chicken. I took a bite off the end and I noticed it tasted uncooked. Unfortunately I swallowed that bite. Then I cut into the chicken and realized it was pink. Actually almost still raw. So I didn't say anything because I was embarrassed to make a scene in front of my husband and friends. I left it on the plate pink side up so she could see it wasn't cooked. She said oh sorry. That was it. So my friends ordered dessert. I didn't. She comped one of their desserts I guess to make up for the raw chicken. Time Out! This ain't your childhood 'go to your room' time out! Nope! We took a time out to grab a late night bite. My first time and I've gotta say I was bitten! In a very good way! The Cuban sandwich was recommended to me by one of my Time Out travelers. She said add bacon and that's it! Ohhh man!!! She hit a home run! EXCELLENT SANDWICH! I got home cooked chips with it. They were hot and crunchy. Total mouth gasms. Gotta give a shout out to Megan! This fireball bartender zips around with the fan blowing her dark hair like she's standing on the bow of the Titanic. I got the vegan nachos because I was excited that they had vegan cheese, but the cheese came out not melted and the nachos were bland so I do wish I would have gotten something else. Have been going to time out for a long time. But lately things seem to have changed, I know they changed the hours. They now close at 11. :00 p.m. and will not take orders after 10:30. We usually get there about 9. :00 most the time. It's Friday but the last three or four times that we've been there. The food has been way off. In fact, when you order a meatloaf, it used to come from mashed potatoes. Now it's an extra if you want the mashed potatoes. I ordered their blackened chicken and a bowl. It came out ice cold and just last Friday my wife ordered a Cubano which was mostly bread and I ordered the Philly cheesesteak which the meat was so dry. It was horrible. I'll think I'll have to find another place to eat. I will say that the service or the people that work there are absolutely terrific. Time Out Plus- Cocoa Village, FL- 1-Star 188 days sober and a Sports Bar and Grill comes up on my random name generator. Let the test commence, I thought as I pulled into the lot of Time Out Plus Sports Bar in Cocoa Village, FL. The story on the internet is that they were so successful in their previous location in Cocoa, that they expanded to a full kitchen and banquet facilities here in Cocoa Village. If this is the case, and I have no reason to doubt it is not, that speaks to a loyal following of regular patrons. As I entered my olfactory nerve went on overload with what had to be the cleanest smelling bar in which I have ever been. Again, this tells me that the continuing world of COVID is not all bad. As I approached the bar I was warmly greeted by the barkeep, Mandy. Mandy was on top of her game, minus the ten minutes she spent chatting with other staff members. I asked for a single malt, neat and again, at 188 days sober, I just sat and admired the overly generous pour. I asked Mandy if they actually made the burgers here and after a brief hesitation, she said "yes." Which instantly told me the answer is no. I then asked for a burger medium-rare. She informed me that they don't cook them to that grade of doneness. (Which also means this is a frozen burger.) Deciding discretion is the better part of valor, I relented and settled for a medium burger. However, that is a huge tip-off to me that the burgers are not made fresh to order. I also asked for an order of Cottage Pie (Shepherds Pie made with Beef instead of Lamb). Before too long, my food arrived and I snapped some quick pictures before digging in. The first thing I noticed were the components of the Cottage Pie. Traditional Shepherds Pie, or in this case Cottage Pie is a mixture of carrots, celery, onions, herbs, bay leaves, meat and gravy topped with mashed potatoes. As this included peas and corn, you know this was made with a frozen vegetable mix. Boo. Not only that, but I know for a fact it wasn't made fresh, rather it was reheated in the microwave. I knew this because the center was ice cold. Incorporating the use of a Salamander or like device is a much more prudent way to reheat leftovers (just saying'). I then turned my attention to my burg...err, I mean Patty Melt? When did I order a Patty Melt? Unreal, she didn't place an order for a burger. Top-notch all the way. What a train wreck!! I'm outta here. Mandy turned out to be a cantankerous and shrewish employee who decided to not place my order. Oh well. The Big Boys says, "Don't. Just don't order food here. The drinks and drink specials are the only reason to ever set foot in this car crash of a Sports Bar and Grill. read more

I am putting Time Out into the Penalty Box. It seems that the last couple of years they have lost their way. We used to enjoy the daily specials, Sunday Brunch and the Build-Your Bloody-Mary. The food has gotten more mediocre while the prices went up and they still keep putting those crappy chips out to fill your plate. Stopped in for a relaxing beer on our way home yesterday. Looking for a snack, rather than actually being hungry; we were referred to the Tin Can Nachos. They should just call this "The Magic Can". A presentation is made of lifting a can and spilling the fixings onto a tray transforming $2 worth of crap into a $15 appetizer. We have always enjoyed the patio, however, as an ex-smoker, I can't stand the odor of cigarettes, pipes or cigars. Yet, management allows the few who still embrace this habit to pollute the entire area. One inconsiderate individual can impose their stench upon the entire patio. Buh Bye T.O.. As new homeowners in Cocoa we have been sleeping for the last year because this place is AMAZING. I wish we had came sooner. Not only did we have an incredible experience on our first trip for dinner but we loved it so much we came the next day for lunch and it was equally as great. This is a spacious bar/restaurant with lots of comfortable seating inside and out. They have amazing food and service. The moment we walked in, the door man was so kind and our service got even better with our server Corey. He was attentive, knowledgeable and knew the menu well which was very helpful with my fiancé's allergies. Our food came out fast and we pretty much didn't talk again until we were done eating because the food was THAT good. They had live music and son really enjoyed sitting on their outside patio listening. For my entree I got the fried shrimp and OMG the breading is so crispy. The fries are like little potato boats... absolutely mouth watering. Corey really made the experience extraordinary and told us all about their events, specials and even their companies philanthropic efforts. With his influence we came the next day for my best-friends birthday brunch. She was equally impressed. The next day the amazing service didnt stop with our server Heather. She went above and beyond. She really went out of her way to make my friends birthday special and suggested all the best entrees. She was so attentive despite being swamped. I went with the pineapple teriyaki chicken Corey talked me into the night before and it did not disappoint. Aesthetically and literally incredible. We also had the bloody Mary's weekend brunch deal and it was so tasty. They really had all the best toppings. My favorite topping was the fried mushroom!!! Stopped here for lunch one afternoon with friends while staying in the Cocoa Village area. It's in the outskirt streets of the main village district, but definitely walkable to get here & very bike-friendly. There is a fairly decent bicycle parking area out front with racks. The space is nice and open. It is a true sports bar environment. There is an outside and inside eating area with televisions pretty much everywhere around. Seating was comfortable and not cramped at all. We started with the pretzel. It was pretty awesome. It was large and came out hanging from a banana hanger. It was warm and soft. A little dough-y, but not too much for my liking. It was served with a stone/brown mustard and a beer cheese dip. Excellent! I ordered the muffuletta and my friends all seemed to order burgers. The muffuletta had ham, provolone, & an olive relish. It was a good meal, but the taste didn't necessarily "wow" me, it was a little underwhelming to be honest. It came with a side which were options like fries, chips, tots....I ordered the tots which were no different than you would get from the grocery store freezer section. The burgers that my friends ordered all looked great.....if I return, I'll likely try one of those. This would be a great place to gather with friends for a bite. Without being creepy, the super wait staff is MOST PLEASANT on the eyes to add to the experience too! Ordered the Fish n Chips (which IS the reason for the FIFTH STAR)! PERFECTLY cooked haddock filet, homemade cole slaw and tarter sauce. Generous portion of slaw that was SUPER fresh and delicious compliment to the fish.
