We frequent this place a lot, or we did. You can't beat the ambience because it's located directly on Indian River. However, the prices and quality of the food have taken a pretty big hit from what we can tell during our last visit. We had 5 adults in our party. One is disabled and ate off the kid's menu. Two of us split a meal. The bill came close to $100. One in our group often ordered the tuna poke. This time, there was only a few pieces of tuna and tons of rice. The seaweed salad was missing, and when we asked the server about it, we were told they no longer include it. This dish is about $15, and it's no a bowl of rice and a few pieces of tuna? Two of us split the fish Ruben, another dish we often have ordered here. The piece of fish was noticeably smaller than normal. We also ordered some sweet potato fries to share. The sauce as no longer included. I realize food prices are soaring now, but considering the prices have increased on their menu, management needs to rethink things. If you can't offer the same quality of food for a particular dish (like the tuna poke), just remove it from the menu. I visit this area often to spend time with family, and I always wanted to go here, but I doubt I could talk anyone into anymore.

My wife and I loved this hot spot from the moment we sat at the outside tiki bar. Situated right along side the Indian river. We received a drink coupon from the boat tour and said, what the heck, lets enjoy a cocktail. I ordered a pina colada with a floater and my wife ordered a rum punch. There was live music as we walked in. Always a plus, it was a guy playing a guitar with background settings. Our bartender was great and accepted both of our boat tour coupons. We ordered a few appetizers, including bacon wrapped scallops , cheese bread and wings. Food was perfect for a mid day lunch. I also ordered their signature cocktail. Had to. The Grills Grand Hurricane for 15 bucks. And you get to take home the souvenir glass. Overall a great experience. We had a blast.

The restaurant sits in a sorta scenic spot overlooking the Indian river. We got in mins. before a downpour. Once seated and after we looked at our menus, a storm hit and the place lost power for a good 5 mins. Once power came back it was business as usual. The place is decorated as all these places usually are... everything seems to be made out of wood and they have like an observation deck and, I believe, outside seating (I dunno why anyone wants to sit out in the FL heat, but, ya like what ya like). The food. As for what we ordered, again, it's basically what you'd expect from one of these harbor side grills. Sandwiches, "tacos" and burgers. Most seem to come on a bed of corrugated chips (I guess it's so that they can sell you fries as a side, wink*). So, food was average (... I didn't like their "tacos"... ssshhhh*).

It was nice! Waitress was sweet and they have a live band the Friday night we went. She did ask if we wanted jalapeños with the fish dip but didn't realize it was an extra $1 charge. But other than that overall great!

We accidentally stumbled across this place when looking for somewhere else, our initial choice was overcrowded and small but this was much better than we had hoped for. The staff were very nice and friendly, and our server gave some great information and recommendations. Both the cocktails and the mocktails are very enjoyable. We initially thought that being sat on the deck would be too hot, but with the nice breeze coming across the bay, it was perfect. All the food was great and the cheesy bread was excellent. Shout-out to the fro-yo machine which was a welcome addition to an already enjoyable meal.

Taste: 4/5 Value: 4/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Grills is a good place to go if you're trying to have a meal overlooking the water. It's a very causal/beachy vibe with live music and nice views of the Indian River. They have a lot of seafood options, but also have some "Without Fins" items too. I really enjoyed my meal and the generous portion size but some other people with me weren't as impressed with the taste. They have indoor and outdoor seating, see the hostess for indoor or seat yourself outside. Our server was friendly and prices were fine. Overall, good experience. I'd say give it a try for the fun atmosphere.

Arrived as a group of four during a rainy Fourth of July for lunch indoors, seated immediately. Staff mostly friendly, our waitress was not as warm at first but was a bit more friendly by the end of our time dining. Food came out quickly and was hot and delicious, luckily right before the power started to flicker on and off. Food is a bit pricey for the portions you get, even more if you were to get drinks alongside your meal other than water. Considering the food, the fish tacos with Mahi were good even if the corn tortillas can't hold all the goodness together without some careful eating. My wife's fish sandwich was good but the chips paled in comparison to the delicious sweet potato fries we got as an additional side (comes with horseradish and sweet/spicy sauce). Overall a good experience, but we felt a bit of tension with our waitress which dampened the initial experience even if it improved at the end.

Quick visit while visiting our kids who moved to Melbourne recently. Food was good, service was great. Our server was very nice. Never tried Cobia before, it was a light and buttery whitefish.

Food was very good. It was a bit pricey for my Long Island Ice Teas--and they were pretty small for the price! Great service and we all had good quality food on our orders. We were a group of five people. I will go back but if you do go out over there, there are other places to go for drinks that give you a better deal. Thank you for great waitressing and a nice time otherwise. 3 stars.

Delicious lunch at Grills today. Nice waterfront view. Yummy mahi mahi sandwich. Good service. Decently priced.

This riverside seafood spot offers a great atmosphere, live music and beautiful views. The food was decent but the prices felt a bit high for what was served. Good amount of seating available. Surcharge if you plan on paying with card but they have an ATM available at the front. Overall, it's a nice place for the ambiance, but don't expect standout flavors.

Ask the Community - Grills Riverside Seafood Deck & Tiki Bar

I'm having 25-30 people for a birthday. Can I bring my own cake to serve that many?

I have done this in the past with a smaller group and it hasn't been a problem. I suggest calling ahead to let them know & bringing paper plates for the cake.

    Is the Patio dog friendly?

This place is not dog friendly unfortunately! We take our pups to Coasters!

After more than 25 years of coming to Pineda Inn, I've reached the point where I can no longer make…read moreexcuses for what this place has become. This latest visit was a perfect example of why many longtime customers are giving up. It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon, the kind of day when this place used to be packed with people waiting for a table. Instead it was surprisingly quiet and the inside bar was empty which should have tipped us off. After our recent experience, it's obvious why. We waited for over an hour for two sandwiches. Not a complicated order. Not a huge party. Two sandwiches. During that entire time, there was no sense of urgency from the bar waitress, no effort to keep us informed and no indication that anyone cared that customers were sitting watching the clock. When we finally asked about the delay, the response was "it's busy outside", it wasn't , in fact almost nobody. But after waiting for over an hour, customers don't want excuses - they want someone who actually cares and seems concerned about good service. A simple apology, an update, or even a little empathy would have gone a long way. Instead, the attitude seemed to be that our frustration was somehow our problem. Then the food arrived. The mahi Reuben was a complete disaster. The bread was so soggy and waterlogged that it literally fell apart. It wasn't just bad, it was inedible. Who knew that sour kraut must be at a premium when it wasn't even added. Any kitchen, or server, with even the slightest standards would have thrown it in the trash, along with the cold soggy fries. Instead, it was served without a second thought. The most frustrating part is that this isn't a one-time experience and seems to be more the norm than the exception. The kitchen has been going downhill for a while with LONG wait times and mediocre food and it seems that nobody is interested in fixing it. Orders take forever, quality continues to decline and the response from staff seems to range from indifference to excuses. A restaurant doesn't survive for decades because of its building or location. It survives because of loyal customers. I've know Pineda through many owners, it now feels like management is relying entirely on a reputation that was earned decades ago while doing very little to maintain it. After almost 30 years, this was the worst experience I've ever had here. An hour wait for two sandwiches, and inedible meal, and the only explanation being "it's not my fault." Maybe that's the problem. Everyone has an excuse, but nobody has a solution. At this point, the biggest disappointment isn't the food, it's the overwhelming feeling that nobody cares. And it's sad, as I've met the owners at their other establishment - I expect and deserve better - especially at $17 FOR A SANDWICH!!!

The only thing the that was bad about this dinner, Besides the ruining of the surprise was that the server was absolutely horrible. It took her about 30 minutes just to start us off with water and it wasn't even busy. After she came back with the waters, it took her another 30 minutes to come back to take our order. I'm a very observant person so I would see groups of people come in and they would get their food before us. That's crazy. Anyways, after another 30 minutes, the waiter came to take our orders. We tell the lady and she said she's gonna get it fixed 10 minutes ago by and the person just ends up eating whatever they were given. Overall worst experience ever never coming back. **INITIAL REVIEW**…read more When it comes to the restaurants within Downtown Melbourne/Melbourne Main Street, I often stress that the ones on the edge of the river and/or marina are some of the best ones if you want a meal with a view. The Mansion and Chart House come to mind. The one my family wanted to go to was Ichabod's Bar & Grille. Unfortunately, its popularity exceeded its capacity and the waittime was over an hour. Ergo, we went to their sister location on Melbourne Beach, the one right across from Paradise Beach. Maybe, I was expecting a bit more as the Melbourne Beach location is the newer location meaning it had the OG to learn from, but it did not live up to that standard, at least the one I had in my head. Though an address is provided, this Ichabod's Bar & Grille - which I will shorthand simply to Ichabod's for the remainder of this review - is located as a stand-alone business right across the entrance to Paradise Beach. Ichabod's surely has that look of being a dockside restaurant despite being "landlocked," but good luck parking nearby. The parking situation has always been bad around the area. Inside, the seating is limited in which the majority of seating seems to be at the two bars. I guess Ichabod's is catering to a certain demographic pertaining to who dines inside. Outside, there are more tables for families and groups. That is where my family and I sat for our meal. Our waitress Jordanann, God bless her soul, was the only waitress working. She was running around like a chicken with their head cut off as she served everyone both inside and outside the restaurant. Despite her situation, she remained focused and kind. I definitely gave her a big tip for how hard she worked. As for the food, it was... well... okay. I always get fried fist fillets whenevere I come to a new seafood restaurant, along with crab cakes. There was shell in the crab cake, which I find to be a bit of a norm with a little piece, but there were some thoroughly recognizable pieces in my mouth when biting right in. And the fish, well... it was... okay. Not the best fish I ever had, but not bad where I would not finish it or at least take it home. Other food my family ordered includes the Mahi Sandwich, Our Burger, Shrimp Wrap, Caprese Burger, Jerk Mahi Plate, and the Jerk Shrimp Plate. Overall, the initial visit was very lacking. Though I do not fault the waitress herself, I do fault the restaurant for only having one waitress for this shift. I assume they are having a troublesome time keeping staff. I will definitely come back and give them a second chance. Can't just say Ichabod's is what they are over one visit, but for this initial visit, this is the kind of rating I would give them. If they improve over an average, i will reconsider changing the rating and updating the review.
