Consider this wonderful restaurant a fine dining steak house wrapped in blue jeans and boat shoes. Julian, our attentive server, who will soon be departing for the Coast Guard, (Thank you for your Service), listened attentively as I described how I wanted my Bone-in Ribeye prepared. Of course, Pittsburgh with warm center. Substitute a whole sliced tomato for the potato, (delicious) and perfect grilled asparagus. I still brought home enough for a generous steak sandwich! My wife had the happy hour fish bites. They were fluffy and expertly prepared. Back to the steak... there is a shortage of good steakhouses in the area and I am hoping they will add fresh cuts to the menu as exceptional offerings become available. The chef did an outstanding job preparing the steak, rivaling Bones and Chops in Atlanta, and Cattleman's in Fort Worth. Still a half step from Chicago's Harry Carey's, but at a price point at or less than half. Folks, I hesitate to rave, for fear that I can't get in, or they will run out of steak, but if you want a superlative steak dinner, at a bargain price, join me at Pines. Went to the Pines Public House today for the first time. We were there for Sunday breakfast/brunch. We both had the southern fried chicken and biscuits. It's served with scrambled eggs and potatoes. The food was very good as was the service. Very large portions, we took half of our meals home. I have to say that whoever designed the interior of this restaurant did a great job. A great spot for a hearty dinner plate or sandwich. The inside is warm and inviting and slightly upscale while also have the vibe of a local bar. The food is a little pricey but they have an option for everyone. We tried the steak, a swordfish special and salmon. The special came with little bits of pork belly and was definitely my favorite! We stopped in today as we were in the area and had a good experience before. The menu changed in the past year or so since we have been there and not for the best. All of the appetizers and entrees we loved were gone. Food was bland, no flavor at all. Cheesesteak egg rolls full of chewy fat and the only flavor was overpowering green chilies. Who takes Ahi Tuna off the appetizer list? Apparently the "chef" in charge is making very bad decisions and needs some continuing education classes. Sadly we won't be back. Shame though, we really enjoyed it before all of the changes even though the service was always slow, the food made up for it, not so much now. read more

Nice experience at the Pines Public House. The smoked Chilean sea bass fish dip with crostini was so good. The Asian cheese steak nachos with flank steak did not disappoint. Made a reservation for 12 when I got there they didn't have a table for us. Had to wait 25 minutes for an available table. Although we were greeted (after a 15 minute wait) warmly by Emily the Overall service was terrible due to poor staffing at this establishment. The appetizers ( pretzel and quesadillas were very good the pine house wings were lukewarm at best and slightly over cooked. The onion soup was good and I'd recommend that on a chilly day. The fried chicken sandwiches, smash burger, black and blue burgers and pub classic burgers were delicious but I would recommend a different side as the fries were over cooked and tasted like chalk. The fish and chips were OK and our friend had to wait 25 additional minutes for her burger to be remade after the kitchen staff got it wrong. The restaurant has both table and bar seating but the manager:owner must learn labor management to avoid long wait times for service. The waitress servers did their best ( I noticed only 3 on duty) which required the greeter and bartender/barmaid to assist with food deliveries. I will not recommend this restaurant to our golf tournament partners until staffing levels are addressed. read more

Unrecognizable from our experience three years ago. Other than the service is still slow. My husband: the chicken in the Nashville chicken was chewy and poorly fried while the french fries were cold and chewy. My mother-in-law: cold chicken tacos with no flavor despite being covered in a "sriracha" aioli. Me: the beyond burger was not cooked and was just mush inside, my waitress saw I left my whole burger and fries on the plate but didn't ask why. The menu changes were disappointing (no cheese curds and no fresh bread), but it's understandable options change over time. What we can't forgive is how poorly done the meals we did order were. Even the drinks had barely any alcohol. We're visiting from out of town and came prepared to eat here multiples times in our three week visit. Came in for dinner on a Thursday night before 6. The bar area was packed, as they have some great happy hour food deals. We sat at a table in the restaurant area and waited, and waited, and waited some more. People were sat after us, and were greeted and even brought water, and we still sat. Finally, our waitress came over, took our drink order, and disappeared. We waited even longer, and another waitress even came over and asked if someone had been to our table yet. She had noticed that we were still sitting there without drinks for awhile. She brought us some water, and then our original waitress reappeared with our drinks. Most of the wait staff seemed very busy and the place was packed. Some had tables inside and outside throughout the night. One waitress had her long hair curled and styled, but not even pulled back while waiting tables. So glad she was not our waitress, despite being more prompt than our waitress was. I wondered if any of her customers have found her long hair in their food! We ordered dinner and the service was still slow and basically nonexistent. When we asked for our bill, the paper bill was just handed to us without a check holder. After taking the credit card, about twenty minutes went by, and the credit card and paper bill were brought back for us to sign, again, without a check holder or pen. (When our waitress brought us the check the second time, she dropped our credit card on the floor.) It was an awkward and strange experience. I had the shrimp imperial, which was incredible! My mother had the halibut imperial, which was also amazing. While our food was some of the best we have ever had in the pines, the service here left little to be desired. My parents live year round in Ocean Pines, and have enjoyed coming here throughout the time they have been open. However, our service on this summer evening was extremely disappointing. read more

I went twice and had different experiences. The first visit we ordered bowls and enjoyed our meals. The second visit I went on my own and ordered the salmon. It was bland and the vegetable that came with it (broccoli) was burned. It looked burned, smelled burned, and tasted burned. I found it interesting that the waitress did not ask about the food. I have now been here twice. Food quality on both trips was really good and lots of options to choose from. Both visits were with large parties and staff for service was efficient. Such a beautiful, delicious and affordable spot to grab lunch or dinner. A friend came to help me during my knee replacement and I needed to get out. The Peach/Lemonade basil cocktail was a great start. We shared dumplings that were great and she had French onion soup and I had the cream of crab soup. Great staff, good food and reasonable pricing. Left us staring at our plates with no way to eat for 10 minutes until one person from our table went to the front desk to complain. Been here about three times usually because other places were closed. I never learn my lesson. Service is incredibly slow, have multiple waiters in one sitting, wrong orders served, and the food is thrown together Sysco stuff. Terrible experience. Our waitress' name was Tara. We showed up for Sunday brunch around 10am. There was hardly anyone in the restaurant when we arrived. But it took 10 minutes for the waitress to show up to introduce herself and take drink orders. Then, it was more waiting for her to come back to take orders - 20 minutes from the time of being seated. Food took a long time to arrive. It was at least 45 minutes to get our food. And when it arrived, it was cold. Everything. Everyone's. Grilled cheese sandwich was 30 seconds short of burnt. French toast was soggy. Eggs tasted & smelt strange. All the food was flavorless (the salt shaker was very popular at the table this morning). And the 10 oz breakfast steaks were maybe only 3 oz and already cut up for us like a kid's meal. Service was terrible. One of the little ones sat there and watched everyone else eat for almost 10 minutes before his burnt breakfast arrived. Another person in our party waited 10 minutes just for water, after everyone else already had their drinks. Our waitress Tara only showed up to take the order and give us the bill. And delivering the check was the only thing she did quickly. The teenage boys did all the rest of the work for her. Those boys should have receive the tip instead of her since she hardly did any of the work herself. read more

Have done takeout on our last few visits to family in the area. Consistently good food. Always get the crab cakes and they did not disappoint! The tuna was excellent. The portions were fine. The kids meals were gobbled up. Our favorite appetizer to share is the baked brie with lots of berries, and jam on the side. First and last time at this place. Was told ten minute wait due to kitchen back up, totally understand. Got seated in the ten minute time. Our table was right next to bar and front door. Ten minutes a server comes by take drink order. Fifteen minutes later we receive our drinks and she took food order. One hour later we received our which was an appetizer, soup and blacken shrimp tacos. The soup and tacos were cold the appetizer was not as it said it was on the menu and the same was for the non blacken shrimp with only cabbage. Flagged down server for check within 5 minutes of receiving our food which was only half eaten. She asked if we needed a box. lol. When she returned with our change she said "Take your time". We eat here every so often. Wait staff is very friendly, but the kitchen is the slowest of any restaurant around. Today there were 5 occupied tables, and we (a party of 4) waited almost 35 minutes for our food. The food was good except for some ice cold broccoli. We sent that back and got some that had actually been heated. If you are at all in a hurry my advice would be to try another place. read more

Excellent food and service. A great addition to the Ocean Pines and Ocean City food culture. Not fancy in design or atmosphere but well thought out and substantial decor. Good prices and lots of specials throughout the week. Definitely worth checking out if youre in the neighborhood. We had the soups both the tomato bisque and the broccoli asparagus purée, both were delicious. Then Asian dumplings ( appetizer), Pines Rollatini, and the Pines Pub Burger all exceeded expectations. Went to a local stop while in town. We had previously enjoyed meals and drinks at the restaurant when they first opened a couple of years ago.... MAN WHAT A DIFFERENCE IT MAKES AFTER YOU GET COMFORTABLE!!!! OMG THIS WAS TERRIBLE!!!!! Drinks were fine... sangria, beer for the Hubs.... Standard stuff... However, the supposedly JERK CHICKEN WINGS were more like JERKY! Unseasoned, fried until even the BONES had dried out. If it hadn't been for the ranch and blue cheese on the side..... Luckily the Hubs was hungry. I ate ONE and gave up.... Flavorless, terrible.... Next up, the Shrimp Imperial and the Hubs Medium Well steak. The broccolini was INCINERATED making it inedible... Shrimp, dried out and on top of a flavorless, dried out and gray Imperial.... The accompanying quinoa was another dried out unappealing disaster.... I was shocked this plate left the kitchen.... I sent it back. Won't get me 2x with a bad plate.... The Hubs Medium Steak, past Well done, fair at best, but again, he was starving and just wanted to eat "something". The server was nice, but it definitely did not make up for this meal. Never again. I went to Southside Gate Grill a few steps away.... So far their establishment has never let me down. I could not be more disappointed at PH... Please do better.... Classic case of establishing a clientele and becoming comfortable... quality of the food has fallen to unacceptable.... read more

Everything we ate left us is shock. Even with how busy they were it was amazing service, organization, and made with love. The best filet mignon and lobster tail I've ever had(and I'm from New England). The black cherry mojito was amazing, and the s'mores brownie was just crazy. Absolutely love the food here. We have been three tiki and each time I've tried something different. Everything has been truly unique and delicious. The portions are very generous and the food is fresh. I've given four stars only because the service is not great. I'm not saying it's terrible, but 2/3 times we've gone, the server has zero menu knowledge and the food has taken far too long. Other than that, I want to repeat that the food is outstanding!
