Great Gluten Free options, especially for those of us with Celiac. Shocked that hardly anywhere in OC has "Surf & Turf" on the menu. Mio's was the best option to make my own. Although we weren't fond of one of the highly obnoxious tables behind us (they legit dropped their infant child), overall it's a nice place. They can't control the patrons per se. I think we expected a little bit higher class but we are comparing to Texas and it seems no steak houses or Italian restaurants here are. Not a big deal. We down this way because of the people mostly. Just not our style. We were so worried when we saw the steak come out. My husband actually said "Oh man... this looks like ground beef". Shockingly it was absolutely delicious. Certainly beat out anywhere we'd been for steak. We normally cook our own, and he still thinks ours win, but this was a close second. The lobster tail was great too! We were both really fond of the mashed potatoes. So creamy! I'm going to try to make similar ones at home. Crème brûlée was VERY good! Again, one of the better and traditional ones I've had. While the food was great, our server was even better. She was attentive but not overbearing. Thoughtful but not suffocating. She knew what I needed before I even had to ask!

We returned here most recently twice with our friends for happy hour dinner and lunch. I will summarize both of our most recent dinner and lunch visits here: Our first visit was at 4 pm for happy hour dinner. We sat at a table in the bar area. The bar area restaurant patrons were very loud and boisterous, especially the larger table adjacent to our table of four. Keno was also available. I enjoyed my best martinis. I also enjoyed my blackened flounder over a choice of salads. I opted for the Caesar salad. My flounder was excellent, because it was not over cooked and very moist, which I prefer. My Caesar salad was also moist and excellent. Our total bill was $84 excluding gratuity. This is why we returned here again with our same friends. Our most recent visit was on Sunday at noon for lunch to watch the 1 pm football games at the bar. We sat on the corner of the bar. You can participate in the football pool and/or keno. I started with and enjoyed a bloody Mary. I also again enjoyed my blackened flounder over Caesar salad although my flounder was more over cooked and less moist compared to last time. Consistently of food is important to me. My total bill was $74 excluding gratuity.

Our first time visiting and we will be back. Great staff with friendly service and honest input regarding their menu options. Their daily specials are well priced and tasty. The stuffed eggplant app is very good and one is enough for 2 people. Portions are large enough to share. They make very good cocktails and their chocolate martini is one of the better ones around the shore. They are known as an Italian steakhouse but I only saw two cuts of steak available on the menu, a filet and a porterhouse.

We were running a little late due to horrendous traffic in the last two miles before the restaurant but they graciously still held our table. Had a wonderful family dinner for my son's 16th birthday and he even got a birthday cannoli. Food was excellent and the key lime martini was refreshing as well.

Good sized bar, full service, TV's (NHL Playoffs were on) Staff were great. Side note, whomever was in charge of the playlist knew his or her assignment- well done. Very much an old Italian restaurant feel. Staff was extremely nice and attentive. And heads up the meal will arrive quickly. So do what we did. Order a drink and an appetizer then main course when ready. Portions are very generous. We had ample leftovers- see the pictures- for dinner tomorrow when we get back home.and the pricing were reasonable. The bread is crispy, fresh and warm. So to the food. All the portions are large. Calamari as an appetizer- ohhhh So good. Very light and crispy, not dense or big clumps of calamari. Sauce was spot on. Slight pepper taste to it. They had a special tonight- ossobuco (pork shank) tomato sauce and gnocchi which the mrs had- and so did four others near us. The pork was so tender and fell off the bone, very very good. I was highly encouraged to have the chicken parm. Not sure how the hell they found a chicken that big for the portion I received. Outstanding. Lightly breaded, juicy, very nice sauce and goobs of cheesy goodness.. how any human could eat this in one sitting is beyond me. We have amble leftovers for tomorrow. Mrs got cannolis to go. Pizza made on the spot.. we will be back and this spot is highly recommended.. I found the prices reasonable and better than other offerings in the area. They close at 9 so keep that in mind..

This is truly a hidden gem in DE!…read more I was visiting family over Mother's Day weekend, and we had reservations for 5pm (note: reservations are STRONGLY encouraged for prompt seating). As a Baltimore native, I'm used to the charm of the Little Italy restaurants; pulling up to La Dolce Vita had me scratching my head. It is truly not much to look at from the outside or inside, but-- as my grandmother always taught me-- never judge a book by its cover. I'm glad I didn't. The 2 polite servers were already busy when we got there, but we were seated quickly and provided with our drinks and table bread promptly. The menu is small yet cozy and familiar. The specials were relatively extensive, also (maybe for the holiday?). My family ordered 2 appetizer specials (escargot & clams casino)-- both were alright, but I'm also not a huge fan of either. Plate presentation was nothing fancy, but still looked very nice. With any entree, you receive a side salad-- a small display of fresh spring greens with tomatoes and cucumber. Don't be off-put by the packaged salad dressing. Our table ordered: lamb Ossobucco (special), veal & shrimp Marsala, and chicken parmigiana. Due to the increasing patrons, our main dishes took a little longer to come out, but it was nice to catch up with family. Again, the presentation of the main dishes were nothing gourmet, but hearty and clean. The Marsala has a sweet flavor, which is not usually how I make it, but it was still rich and tasty. I had the chicken parmigiana, and was surprised to see that the side angel hair pasta came with meat sauce-- I later realized that it's listed on the menu (oops!). Their pasta sauce is absolutely delicious, and I wish I ordered more for bread-dipping! Save room and pack up half of your meal, because you *WILL* want their delicious, homemade desserts. Our table shared tiramisu and a cannoli-- let me tell you, they put Baltimore's Vaccaro's to shame. The cannoli was probably the best I've ever had, and the tiramisu was so light and fluffy without an overwhelming coffee flavor. For 3 people (no alcoholic drinks), the total was about $150. This is incredible for the delicious food and large portions! Please please please go here for the best Italian food on the shore!

We were able to get a table right away and were excited, because right when you walked in, the restaurant smelled like an authentic, amazing Italian restaurant. Unfortunately, our pizza came out about 20 minutes before the rest of the entrees. Additionally, the waitress said she did not have time to bring us bread and that it would come with the pastas. When we asked for no onions on the salad, we were told it was premade. And most disappointingly, the chicken we got as a side was not cooked. The waitress did not charge us for it but her attitude was very rude. I would definitely go back for pizza and would maybe consider carryout. Having a waitress or waiter that is hospitable and welcoming really can add to or ruin an experience. I'm confident that my experience is not typical because of how busy the restaurant was and always is.

Long time chef up in Philly, I had a good feeling he knew what he was doing. Ironically, ever since that day, I would hear people raving about Lucas. That's when I knew I had to go see what's up. My Fiancé and I reserved a pie yesterday for 3:45, kept it simple for as I always do when eating at a joint for the first time - really shows if a place can execute the simple things. Which in this case, they hit it out of the park. We sat in the car in the parking lot instead of waiting 30 mins until we got home, because I really wanted to try it fresh out of the oven. I devoured 4 slices in a matter of 15 mins. This is the best traditional pizza oven pizza I've had in Delaware, and I moved here in '06. As my Fiancé and I were feeling like we were in heaven enjoying the pie, I told her they have sandwiches as well, one of which was a Chx Caesar sub - our favorite. She insisted we get one for later, of course I agreed. I called back in and ordered it, was ready in 10 minutes. When I was handed the sandwich wrapped up, i already knew it was gonna be a hit. Thing was massive. We made it home and had our way with this sandwich. Which from the picture looks a bit messy, but it was very easy to eat and stayed together. Was delicious. This place was well worth the anticipation and excitement, they certainly delivered and we will be back to try the Tito's (Vodka Pie) and Cheesesteak.
