This was my first time at the skye bar as we are vacationing from New York. The server Jonathan was extremely attentive and made excellent recommendations! The oysters both the Rockefeller and raw were the best I have had so far in OC. The stuffed shrimp, lamb chops, scallops with the fried goat cheese and the seafood salad were top notch! Went to Skye Bar in Ocean City, MD. last night to listen to one of our favorite performer duo. I had a dozen clams which were OK... probably because they were served raw. The downside is the fish tacos which were not even edible. The seafood tasted fishy, were hard as a rock and the upside is that I didn't puke it out on the way home. The adage is true for this food service.... if you are going to a bar, go to drink and not eat. I now know why they don't sell chips and pretzels... because people would order that instead of what they serve. I had a draft which was on the warm side. My wife ordered a house Pinot Noir which was nothing more than swill. We sent it back, but were still charged for it. When we heard enough of our favoite band, we beat a hasty retreat and I didn't have the stomach (pun intended) to argue about the bill. If we go back, we will eat before we go. I also recommend ordering something out of a bottle. read more

Stopped in here for dinner. Wanted something with a good atmosphere and great food. The 3 flights of stairs were a doozy. Theres no elevator so if you cant do stairs for whatever reason youre gonna want to skip this place. Upstairs the dining room is cute. I expected more for the views but its a nice open air space. Our server, Paul, was great. He was funny and attentive. The food was DELICIOUS. I ordered crab stuffed shrimp but it looked more like crab cakes with a shrimp on top when it came. Ample portions. My friend wouldnt stop raving about her chicken chesapeake. Loved the food and service but definitely expected more of a view for a rooftop. read more

I love this place with all my heart! I'll start with ambiance - it's a great rooftop that often has the best live music! I could come here for a single drink and be so content. the crushes are incredible! my personal favorite is the key lime crush it's perfect without being too sweet and I'm obsessed with it! I've also had grapefruit & orange and are both great too. the crab dip is actually incredible I was so impressed - this quality is something I'd expect from a formal restaurant! also love the firecracker shrimp and the nachos were fun too! read more

After going to multiple restaurants where the kitchen was closed, my family and I ended up here. We had a 14 year old with us so that limited us to dining outside even though it was chilly and windy. The climb up the multiple flights of stairs was a challenge for my uncle that has mobility issues and uses a cane because there's no elevator! I originally ordered a salmon salad but was disappointed to find out that I could only order from the late night menu. The late night menu was very limited and I had to settle for the "award winning" cheesesteak as did my aunt and uncle while my nephew and another uncle had burgers. None of the items we ordered were any good! The "award winning" cheesesteaks were skimpy on the meat and super basic. Many bites of the cheesesteaks were just bread because the meat was so scarce. The French fries I subbed out for the chips were decent however. My aunt had the old bay chips and thought they were stale. My uncle had the sweet potato tots that were awful unfortunately. The burgers weren't great either and the leftovers were left behind, not even being worth bringing back to the hotel. Despite the lackluster experience food wise, the security guy at the door and our server were great. All in all, I'd skip this place and the food. When we asked a couple coming out as we came in how the food was, he said "it tastes like shit!" He quickly said he was just joking but after trying it out for myself, I'm now convinced he was telling the truth initially. I wish I would've listened! read more

We stopped by for a drink last night and Skye Bar was close to our hotel. It's pretty big up there with a decent amount of seating. Some outdoor tables and if it's nice out there are big doors so the indoor seating becomes very open aired. There is also a large bar inside with tons of bar seats. The atmosphere is very casual. There was a large cocktail and food menu but we opted for drinks only this time. We tried the cherry lime crush and a dragonberry mojito. Both were tasty and not too sweet. It was very busy but we were helped quickly once we flagged someone down. The format here is self seating and someone will help you, it would have been helpful to have a sign letting people know that when they come up the stairs. The staff was nice but you do need to be assertive to be helped here. There is a happy hour and live music here everyday too which is a plus if you are in the area. read more

Due to Covid my party was looking for something outdoors, family friendly and of course with seafood. Came here towards the end of the summer and seen they had a rooftop option. No reservations were needed. We walked up to the 3rd floor where the rooftop was. The other floors were empty. Don't think it's wheelchair accessible as we had to carry a stroller up. A host quickly greeted and sat us. What appeared to be the manager/owner also greeted us and checked in frequently with us and all other guests. The kitchen area was open in which you could see meals being prepared. The chefs as well were superb! One was extremely friendly with our kids making the experience that much better. We ordered cheesesteak nachos, skye lobster Mac and cheese, crab dip, crab cake sandwich and little stars good fingers. My skye lobster's presentation was nice. The taste even better! We all enjoyed our meals. Although we sat near the street view, we could still see the sunset. The live music was the great touch to a lovely dinner. read more

Dinner with my babies.... My wife that is. Nonetheless, I had the filet mignon, mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus. My wife had the lobster Mac-n-cheese and we shared a dozen raw oysters as a starter. First off, they did not have Guinness on tap nor bottle. The raw oysters left us with dissatisfaction from their dryness, taste and, how can I say this, being shucked incorrectly. So, on to the main course. The filet mignon was a cut that included plenty of tendons. So to spell it out, it was chewy and tough to swallow. The lobster Mac-and-cheese on the other hand was delectable. Two thumbs up So, overall, this was an okay experience, not worth the price. read more

The Skye Bar is one of my favorite restaurants to go to when I am in Ocean City. They have a great atmosphere and live music every day. The first time I went I received amazing service during happy hour with friendly bartenders and servers with short wait times for food and drinks. The most recent time that I went to Skye Bar I experienced good service, but my raw oysters seemed to have been pre-shucked. I arrived with my group the first hour of happy hour versus the other times were during the peak of happy hour. I was very nervous to eat the raw oysters as they seemed very watery and the ice was already melted when they arrived to my table. I did not get sick, but my group did not finish the oysters with fears of consuming oysters that were not fresh and kept cold. I absolutely suggest this place as a first stop for bar hopping or visiting the town. It is a rooftop bar that gives you a different scenery than the ocean or bay side that many other restaurants may give you. Definitely go during happy hour for good drink and appetizer prices! read more

We love this place, the views are wonderful! It opens up with views of both the bay and the ocean. They feature live music during happy hour and have great HH drink specials. Sadly the food specials are limited to oysters (at lease when we went). We had a frozen mango margarita, it was super! I usually don't like frozen drinks because they are so syrupy. This wasn't too sweet and tasted like real fruit. The lobster special was excellent and the lobster perfectly cooked. I think this is every night from 4-6, 1 1/4 lb lobster for $26. Lastly, we were very pleased with the service we received, the staff here is very attentive and friendly, from bartenders to waitresses, and even the bar backs. We will be back! read more

Adding 2 jalapeños to a margherita doesn't make it spicy, and putting cream cheese on an oyster and warming it doesn't make it Rockefeller. Oysters on the half shell were good. Live music genre was good-but entirely too LOUD. With it being enclosed for winter-tone it down. Had to yell to the person directly next to me to barely be heard. The drinks and atmosphere (breezy upper level with live music and attentive service) were quite enjoyable. The scallop appetizer had really well cooked scallops with an interesting cranberry relish and goat cheese. They also came with "pickled" jalapenos which were giant and mostly raw. It really threw off the entire dish which was disappointing because the rest was quite good. The cheesesteak could have been improved by real cheese and hot fries, though it had good caramelized onions. I will mention, as we were drinking and had less liquid in our cups the wind kept blowing them over and onto us. I hope they move to glasses and not plastic cups so other people don't face our experience of getting spilled on. We'd be back if we just wanted drinks and some light food. Wouldn't be back to make this a main meal. read more

Awesome spot! We have been coming here more and more often over the past couple years. Love all the windows and how part of the wall can be pushed back for fresh air. Their live music is always great. You HAVE to get their watermelon crush! Best in OC!! The BLTAC chicken wrap is tasty. You need to switch our chips for sweet potato tots! And cheesesteak nachos are a great starter (ask for extra cheese sauce... idk if they can do this, but by the end of ours we had lots of dry chips). Love this place! The old bay wings are pretty spicy - at least to me they are - so be careful. I'm more of a honey old bay person myself. Steamed shrimp is good. I felt like the salmon BLT was missing something, but still good overall. Love this spot & we will keep coming back! read more

I ordered the steak medium rare. It was completely charred on each side and resembled beef jerky. When we asked for a different steak or something to replace it, the owner came over with a flash light to show me the steak was cooked properly (which it was not) and to tell me I was wrong for disliking it. I could not eat the steak and asked for a cheeseburger to replace it. The cheeseburger was delicious, but they charged me for both the steak, and the cheeseburger I ate as a replacement. The server apologized and told me the owner would not let her take the steak or the cheeseburger off the bill since I was wrong for not liking his food. I rarely send food back, but this was a terrible experience and I am disappointed in the owner for the way he handled this situation. Once again, our server was great, but I will not be returning. read more

This bar allows people who physically assault other customers to stay in their bar after incredibly inappropriate behavior. My brother sat down at a chair that was positioned at a table next to one where a couple was sitting with their 1-2yr old baby, STANDING on the chair. About 5 mins later, after no issues, the man stood up from his chair and purposely slammed his leg into my brothers chair jolting him forward as I was walking towards the table from using the restroom. I said to the man "excuse me what happened" where he proceeded to yell that my brother sat in a chair close to his baby. My brother stands up from him chair when this man repeatedly pushes my brother back into the table. His wife is yelling at him to stop and the waiters who appeared, attempt to break it up where my brother is asked to leave, but the man who physically touched my brother got to stay. It is appauling that the waiters allowed someone to remain in their bar after he physically assaulted another customer. read more

I was with a party of seven, so we weren't able to sit inside due to covid restrictions. The rooftop is nice, but it was very windy this particular night. The heaters helped, but would have been even better to have an additional one on the other side of the table. I was a little surprised that they do not offer any lighting. We had to use the flashlights to view the menu. Some kind of outdoor table lamps are very much needed. I ordered the Seafood Cobb (no photo). Very sparse and flavorless salad for $22. I was satisfied with the size of the shrimp, but the scallops were flat, over cooked, and bland. There were no added toppings outside of the the shrimp, crab and scallops. Some tomato, shredded carrot or cabbage, something, would have been appropriate. The dressing was a basic oil, possibly meant to be balsamic? Very underwhelming and overpriced. The portion size was also itty bitty. I was hungry thirty minutes later (and I ate the entire plate). read more

Was looking for a decent Fri night out and after much searching decided here. From the outside the place is amazing! It gives you Miami vibes with the bright lights ,music, and of course super litty patrons entering and exiting the place. Covid precautions were in place as only the rooftop area was accessible to patrons, spaced seating, wearing masks upon entry and when not seated. The staff also wore masks as well as the bouncers? That shocked me to see bouncers at a restaurant but hey maybe it gets rowdy. Was seated inside but due to a lack of customers and available seating wanted to sit by an open window with a "view". The side I got was the breath taking view of a parking lot/bus depot and further down mini mall. The waitress was friendly and patient because she slipped in telling us their online menu hasn't been changed in years and that was what we had went by before our arrival. She cleaned it up more by informing us that less staff equal less available menu items which I get. The Covid menu options wasn't that appealing. Finally settled on Blackened Chicken wrap with fries and my guest a seafood salad. Ordered some drinks which honestly weren't good enough to remember their names. The food came out fairly quickly which was great because I was hungry. The plating looked decent nothing fancy. The fries were tasteless and cold. I was unable to add salt or pepper because I didn't know if it was available. The chicken wrap must've been wrapped by a toddler because as soon as I lifted it up to bite the insides were falling out from both the top and bottom of the wrap! I was super annoyed having to rebuild the wrap after every bite which was actually tasty. The outside appearance gives this place a vibe and expectation that it didn't live up to. I thought I could grab a dinner meal with a view and got a subpar children's lunch looking at the parking lot. I was actually generous with the three stars but doubt if I'm ever in OC again this will be a place I return to. read more
