My first time trying Rockwell ice cream and it was 10/10. All the ice cream flavors sounded so good, but my friends and I settled on Biscoffi, Strawberries and Cream, and Rockwell Road. The Strawberries and Cream and Rockwell Road were good, but the Biscoffi was phenomenal. If you love biscoff cookies this is the icecream for you! Every bite had the perfect amount of biscoff flavor without it being too overwhelming. The strawberries and cream flavor was fresh and fruity, and surprisingly was very light. The Rockwell Road was not as interesting as the menu made it seem. It tasted like rich dark chocolate icecream, but still solid nevertheless. I was afraid it might've been three heavy choices, but they were all delicious. The only downside is that I hate how they pile one flavor on top of the next, so you have to work through one layer/flavor before getting to the next. Next time, I'll just be getting the Biscoffi alone. Service was fast and this place was packed at 10pm at night. They have a small seating area inside, but my friends and I just took ours to go. read more

I went to Rockwell ice cream last year when I was staying in town. So I thought I would try it again this year and was very disappointed. I got one scoop that that was half melted and two other ones. I walked out the door down to the corner and then realized I left my small package of macarons on the counter when I paid. So about 90 seconds later, I returned and asked if I could get them. The one that helped me said that she threw them in the garbage I said OK can I have them still? She got this funny look on her face and ask if I really wanted them, I said yes. I do not know any business It would throw a customers package away just after they leave. It took her about a minute to bring them back out. I said thank you, but then I noticed there was only one left in the bag. I asked her where the other ones had gone to. She said she had no idea. I have no idea how a bag with the top that was folded over and crushed when I left it and folded it over when I got it back had two of the three items missing. Guess we'll have to find some other ice cream place when I come to Provo. My wife was disappointed to not get the macarons. At least they could've been honest.. read more

Amazing experience this evening! The service was great and the line moved quickly. I got two January special flavors : the PB and the birthday bash. I get that this place is homemade and natural flavors and all, so I respect that and can say it was good ice cream. But I guess that's not my personal style. Apart from chocolate flavored ice cream, nothing else had much flavor. I tried the pick 4 flavors sample with my dad and got mint chocolate chip, rockwell road, honeycomb, and brown butter pecan. Also tried some of the strawberry that my son got. For the price and hype I thought the flavors would pop, but was somewhat disappointed. Strawberry was good but not better than anywhere else. The mint especially was less flavorful than I expected. But it was all good enough for a decent review. Doubt I will be back unless I forget this experience. read more

Unique flavors, delicious taste and friendly service. We parked out front of the ice cream store to go to the cafe next door and we were drawn into Rockwell by the delicious smell coming from inside. All throughout dinner I couldn't wait to get next door for dessert. Plenty of indoor seating. Friendly staff that greet you when you walk in and happy to let you sample the unique and delicious flavors. I ended up getting a limited edition flavor, the toffee popcorn flavor with delicious bits of toffee popcorn. It was 10/10 and I would def order again. My family tried this place for the first time today, and we are absolutely coming back again! Immediately upon entering the shop, you're transported back in time by the delightfully sweet smells of a classic old fashioned ice cream parlor. The staff were very kind and quick. There was no line when we arrived and we had our ice cream in cups and paid for within a minute or two. My son got the cookies and cream flavor while my husband went with brown butter pecan. Both ice creams were thick, creamy, and absolutely delicious. My son's had varying sizes of cookie chunks mixed into the velvety smooth ice cream and my husband's had a rich brown butter flavor that paired perfectly with the pecan bits. I would give this 4.5 stars, actually. It was very good, lives up to the hype. Their signature flavor is the The G.O.A.T., a rich goat cheese base with blackberry, lemon jam swirls and honey rosemary roasted almonds. I didn't sample it as I abhor goat cheese. I'm glad I didn't, because the man in line behind me did and told me it was definitely very goat cheesy. Sounds absolutely intriguing, though. The flavors I had were: Honey Comb, vanilla ice cream with chunks of honey comb Rockwell Road, dark chocolate ice cream, almond brittle, marshmallow swirls I really liked them both, BUT, I compare the honey comb ice cream to the one I have here back home in Tucson made by The Screamery and it isn't quite as good. Seems like the honeycomb flavor is a bit too over powering here. Rockwell's version of Rocky Road was pretty good, especially if you like dark chocolate ice cream. I found the ratio of almond brittle and the marshmallow swirl to be a bit off, and the flavors were a bit distracting to the overall taste. I should have gotten the Mint Chocolate, "Fresh Mint Leaf Ice Cream, Semi sweet chocolate straticella". That was a wonderful flavor with the mint leaf. So different. Rockwell puts plenty of buttercream in their ice cream for a wonderful creaminess. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Cookies and cream ice cream was really good that I got, but felt more like vanilla ice cream with not a ton of cookies and cream. Would love to have some cookie with every bite. The other flavors seem more filled, but by the end of my biscoff (started out great) it basically felt like all biscoff and very little ice cream. Maybe just making sure the filling is incorporated more evenly would help. just think the cookies and cream could use more filling and maybe a little more balance in the biscoff/ice cream ratio in certain parts. All the flavors tasted like they were handcrafted as a certain flavor and everything was so unique and delicious. We got this delicious pizookie! It came out hot and ready and was divine to eat. It can get busy so make sure you know what you want as you get up to the counter. Rockwell's is the perfect date night location! We love going out for some quality ice cream that never disappoints. My favorite flavor has quickly become the cookies and cream as it's loaded with Oreos, and my husband will forever love their fresh strawberry ice cream, made with 5 lbs of fresh strawberries!! This time around we branched out and got the pizookie with cookies and cream and muddy buddy ice cream. The ice cream was creamy, delicious and perfect as usual, but neither of us loved the cookie. For $9, we felt like it was a little too thin and slightly underwhelming. Otherwise, the atmosphere and service was spot on tonight! Be sure to take home some start up candy co candies for later too! For parking after 6pm we like to park at Central Bank and walk through the double back doors straight to Rockwell's.
