Adorable shop with legit the best ice cream I've probably ever had. The servers are dressed in colonial garb and are super friendly! With stocks in the back (lift and drop carefully) colonial chairs and tables and "candles" on the wall in the bathroom... it's a fun and inviting stop for ice cream. Any time we are in Provo, my family and I will be back! Also, the toilet made me chuckle. I didn't know if we'd survive a voyage into the main square with the current pandemic raging in the colony, but we made the dangerous trek anyway. Needless to say we survived, but this letter is to tell you about the new tavern in town called "Brooker's Founding Flavors." All the novelties are named after famous men and women shrouded in politics. Some of the names are to be revered, much like their flavors, and some are to be reviled, unlike their flavors. You see, no matter who the flavors are named after, they are all a delicious revelation! Much like this new invention "indoor plumbing". We dared to try the drinking chocolates and were much pleased with their flavor and richness! The Aztec chocolate wasn't my favorite because to me it tasted like oregano, but to my husband, it was a true delight. The ice cream itself is some of the richest I've ever tasted--I highly recommend Paul Revere's Midnight Ride (dark chocolate with Oreos mixed in). The staff is extremely friendly and made our trip a great experience. Location is close to BYU campus, making it a great spot for students. Though parking is limited, this location has a drive-through, which seems to be perfect timing considering the social distancing concerns right now. Brooker's gets a 12/10 recommendation from me. Say it with me, "drinking chocolate." Starting today I'm going to make "hot chocolate" a swear word in my family because we all deserve better! When you've tasted the the "nectar of the gods" you can't go back to the water, powder chocolate. I had the grand opportunity to taste 11 different drinking chocolates from Brooker's YEAH - ELEVEN. It was kind of like dinner and show to watch them make it by hand. I freaking love that they are revolutionary to the core - not some sideshow. I already loved Brooker's ice cream and the tie it had to early colonial times but I was thoroughly immersed in the history of drinking chocolate. See their website for a great synopsis of where it played a role in American history. I can only imagine how disappointed our founding fathers would be to see Diet Coke, spa water, coffee, tea, and all the crazy drinks outpacing drinking chocolate. Best ice cream shop I've been to. I know, a lot of people say that, but this really has been the greatest experience I've had yet. Why, you ask? Because first off, the service was spectacular. Everyone there was in a good mood and ready to help. Nolan especially took great care of us, giving out huge samples and explaining different facts about Brooker's and their homemade ice cream. I mentioned how I love chocolate and he showed us some to-die-for combos without further ado. For someone who can't ever make up her mind, I was a fan of this kind gesture. Eventually, I personally settled on a cream cheese ice cream with massive ooey gooey butter cake pieces and a chocolate cake batter ice cream with again, massive pieces of chocolate cake and cream cheese icing. My husband got the butter cake as well and death by chocolate (can't remember specifics but it was delish), and our daughter marshmallow ice cream with white chocolate covered nutter butters. My mom and sister got their ice cream in their homemade waffle cones and I wish I would have done the same. Next time... Because there will be a next time. So, there you have it folks. The best ice cream experience I've had to-date with phenomenal ice cream that will leave you crawling into your fat pants (but that just means the ice cream was worth it).
