Well I can certainly say that I won't be going back to this restaurant again. The staff did not greet us as we waited for a table. When we were finally greeted they led us to a dirty table. We waited another 10 minutes before a girl came over with water and silverware. We asked if she could wipe the table down and she said nothing, just walked away and came back with a towel. My friend said that she had eaten there before and that the food was good, so despite the shakey start, we stayed. Our server finally came over and took our order. Drinks came over after another ten minutes, just sodas, nothing fancy. Food took 40 minutes from when we ordered. My husband ordered a veggie dish with chicken and a side of rice, he said it was good. I however, got the most horrible meal, a curry dish with shrimp and chicken. I believe the shrimp may have been rancid. I patiently waited for our server to return so I could tell her. We did see her....when she asked if we needed to go boxes at which time I stated No that the dish was inedible. She took it away and went to the kitchen/management. She came back and said that they took half off the dish. I explained that I did not feel that I should pay for this since it wasn't eaten and it was suspected to be spoiled. She left and a man came over (manager maybe) he said that I should have told the server if there was a problem and they would have remade the dish. I told him that she never returned to our table or we most definitely would have let her know the issue. He seemed disinterested and almost annoyed. He walked away at which point I thought he was going to further discount the check. That didn't happen, nothing happened. Our server returned with a handheld payment device and watched as we paid (how very rude and unprofessional) all said and done we paid for our meal. Left a very small tip and promised ourselves to never return. As someone who works in the service industry, I never would have handled this situation like that. So unacceptable. Very high quality ingredients make for some delicious food, with justifiable prices given the dishes and quality. Whole family was very happy, and the waiter- an older man- was a joy. The restaurant is very cute, lots of vine decorations with flowers! It's a tad dark overall which makes it a lil difficult to read the menu. I'd love to come here again! read more

I can't speak on anything as far as the restaurant because we didn't go in, we just went and got it delivered. However, I would say the dumplings are delicious. They were perfectly sized and crisp and delicious and everything inside taste awesome. I got the garlic chicken which was really good but I wish it came with mushrooms but it was the perfect amount of garlic in it and tasted like gravy with chicken. I am giving this restaurant three stars. The service was great, the atmosphere was beautiful, but the food was very salty. I ordered the dish that I had because I was told it was the most Thai authentic dish they had. I have to disagree. Although it was beautiful, it wasn't something I'd order again. I don't remember the name of what I ordered, but it was a noodle dish of some sort. They do have a fairly large menu and maybe my expectations were a little high, but If I came back I'd definitely order something different. I went to this restaurant yesterday 12/29 we 2 of my friends and had a great experience all around the food was amazing. And the service was out of this world!! Out server was Alana and she was absolutely amazing. Very nice person and first time talking to her makes you feel like you were always friends. We all work in a restaurant as well and she thought us to carry more than 2 plates at a time. The ambience was also amazing with the decorations and the colors. What a great place! Asthetic, food, and location - it's all here. The miso soup, chicken teriyaki, and tuna rolls were all perfection. Our waiter, Tyler, clearly knew what he was doing. Attentive without hovering, kind without being pushy, while also bartending. Management also seemed to be good and jumped in when needed on a busy day. My family comes to Mystic a few times a year and we always stop by Pink Basil. They have a great selection of food and everyone can find something they like. The atmosphere is very open and social-able. The service is prompt and the food is delicious! Now it is a little pricey in some area's but definitely worth the portion and delicious food! The atmosphere is very welcoming here! As soon as we arrived we were taken care of. The seating has ample space indoor and outdoor. The decor is very cute and suits it's name with the pink and floral. The prices are great for the quality and amount of food you receive. Everything tastes fresh and the servers are so nice! I'm from New York so the nice comfortable pace was a nice change. We got the pork potstickers as an appetizer, they were succulent! I definitely recommend starting your meal with this. The only reason this place is the "Best Asian Fusion Restaurant in Mystic" is it's the only Asian fusion restaurant in Mystic. It's also the worst. Nice enough inside and convenient for the highway, but if you have time, keep going to Westerly where you will find two fantastic restaurants that are 1000% better--Thong Thai, and Noodle Revolution. Pink Basil, by comparison, is mediocre and tasteless, and the seafood is not fresh. If you like great Thai food (Thai is most of the menu) you will not like this. If you like bland Asian-ish food you might like it. Either way, Pad Thai should not be made with tomato sauce. read more

We've never had a bad meal or experience here. The decorative flowers make the space feel tropical and fun. You can eat inside or out, and there is a bar with stools. Pretty much everything on the menu can be altered for protein, spice level, and allergy. They offer gluten-free and keto menus too. The servers are great at explaining and suggesting substitutions or options. I usually get sushi here, and it's always been delicious and presented beautifully. Today, I had bibimbap, and I substituted shrimp for the beef. This dish was more traditional, no crispy rice, and the kimchi was great. The spice hits you on many levels, and if I may be like those who say wine has hints of vanilla and pineapple, there's even a smoky undercurrent. I got level 2 and it was plenty. Tomatoes and string beans provide textural variety and peanuts offer a crucial role in counteracting the heat. My family and I can NEVER agree on a place to eat. After doing some digging on Yelp I found this place with a large enough menu that it should satisfy the pickiest of eaters (me). Because it's in Mystic Village it was pretty difficult to find, but eventually we were able to find it. When we got there we were greeted by staff and everyone seems very friendly and pleasant. Since my original review over 3 years ago I have returned to Pink Basil about 5 more times (basically every time I'm in Mystic) and have been impressed in every subsequent visit. I've tried various menu items and have loved everything I've tried. The crispy garlic chicken is a personal favorite. The pad Thai is phenomenal as is the mee goreng. I wish I lived closer because this is perhaps my favorite Thai and Pan-Asian restaurant around. They have also handled gluten allergies for fellow diners very well. The staff is friendly, and in the midst of the current pandemic, the precautions taken have been appreciated. At the time of this review they are only doing takeout and outdoor dining on their covered patio, and food is served in takeout containers. This didn't bother us much, and we understand the reasons behind these changes. Thank for you so many delicious meals over the years! read more

I went in for lunch,. I will say the restaurant is nice and seems like a fun place to hang out with friends after work or for happy hour. If you want thai food, don't try it, though, The pink basil noodles had no basil in it! And it was flavorless with very few vegetables aside from a lot of onions. The garlic sauce with vegetables with also somehow flavorless and the sauce was very watery. I do feel bad saying this but it was a notch below americanized thai food with no flavor. We have went to Pink Basil. However our experience has not been up to Pink Basils normal consistently good quality. Based on this we will not be going back for a while. We are hoping it is because of staffing issues. We will return, but only after the new staff gets more experience. The service was almost nonexistent, our server took our order dropped off our drinks after they took 15 minutes (finished app already) and then had to hunt her down to pay. Never check on meal which was just ok, never offered a second drink and we were considering dessert but ran out of time because she was nowhere to be found. The service and food is great! I went with a friend for lunch in a Friday. Wasn't sure what to expect of a Thai place in Mystic Village, but I was blown away. We had no wait and we're brought right to a table, our waitress was so sweet and helpful. We started with a tuna roll and curry puffs. The sushi was so fresh and delicious. The curry puffs were amazing. My only regret was not ordering some to take home! For an entree I got the pad Thai with beef. My stomach is growling thinking about it. I expected so much more from this place because of all the rave reviews!! I came in on a recent evening and the restaurant wasn't busy busy, there were two couples dining in. When I walked in another party of 3 walked in behind me, and we all just kind of stood there ignored. The manager/ owner walked in, walked past us and didn't say a word. Finally a nice waitress helped, when she finally came around, she was super nice and helpful, so she might be the saving grace of this place, I wish I could remember her name. Well I get my take out order home, and what did I find out? My 14 FREAKING DOLLAR CRUNCHY TUNA ROLL HAS NO AVOCADO AT ALL!! There's like 4 things in this roll, how do you forget the avocado!? Of course I was already home, so I wasn't about to go back out in 29 degree weather on a 15 minute drive -.- The Bangkok noodles are like pad see we, the noodles were cooked really well, and it had a good mix of veggies and chicken. But the chicken was kind of rubbery and had a ton of fat on it ‍ it was also SUPER liquify at the bottom which was kind of weird and probably an effect of having to wait 10 minutes while my food was already sitting there, then driving home. It needed to be heated up, which was a shame honestly. I'm only giving this place 2 stars instead of one because of the woman who actually helped me was nice.
