I switched to Pink Polish after a couple of failed events at Nail So Dep. the staff is warm and welcoming, talented and not pushy. I hate going somewhere and they try to upsale you on services. The owner remembers everyone so it always feels like a little treat when going on. I typically going in for pedicures but occasionally have my nails done. Today's set is pictured in this review. Came here while visiting from out of town after seeing they were still open on Yelp with over an hour to spare before the listed closing time. Out of an abundance of precaution, I still called ahead to confirm their hours, as I've noticed that some establishments' hours don't match Yelp. I told the gentleman who answered the phone that I just wanted the gel manicure, and he told me to come in and someone would be ready for me. When I arrived, a couple of other people were there, but I was promptly seated. The tech doing my nails didn't talk much, which was fine, but she was pleasant nonetheless. After I finished my service, my manicure looked good overall but I wish she had done more work on my cuticles. When I asked her about it during the service she said she was nervous about cutting them too much. I respected her acknowledgment of her professional boundaries/limitations and didn't press the issue further. When I went to check out, the gentleman I spoke with via phone checked me out and was sure to tell me they had closed when I called, but he decided to work me in any way. This statement was a bit confusing as the whole purpose of the phone call was to confirm their hours. I reiterated this and showed him the hours displayed on Yelp, which he told me was incorrect. Honestly, I'm not sure if this was a ploy to justify the price (which I thought was reasonable) or to get a larger gratuity for the technician but I did find the interaction strange. Less than three days later, the polish began lifting off my nails completely. Naturally, being from out of town, there wasn't much I could do to have them rectify it. Before the end of two weeks, all the polish had completely peeled off. I wouldn't go back, but it's not the worst place if you're in a pinch. Just got with the understanding that longevity may not be their strong suit. read more

10/10 gel pedicure. Salon was super clean & looked brand new. I made an apt ahead of time and was taken on time - no issues. Only negative is It was +$20 for a gel pedicure (ie $20 on top of whatever pedicure you selected) which I thought was a bit steep, but It was a really well done pedicure! read more

This is a very clean and well priced nail salon in James island! For picking your polish they have samples at the front not bottles of polish which I thought was different then other salons but made sense with keeping things organized and clean! For scheduling I would recommend calling ahead for an appointment if possible. Even with calling ahead I usually have had to wait 5-10 minutes. I've been here a couple times now and as with every salon the service is pretty technician dependent. The first time I came here I had the best experience I had in a nail salon thus far in Charleston due to friendly and excellent service. The second time my technician was kinda rude and the service was not as enjoyable. This made me less likely to be a returning customer. Due to my mixed experiences it is tough to fully recommend this salon however I do think it is one of the better nail salons in the James Island area due to cleanliness and pricing. read more

I'm not one to write a review. This is actually my first review posted to yelp! So let's get to it! I walked into the establishment to get a man/pedi. The nail tech who painted my toes just wasn't up to par and did a terrible paint job on my pedicure. So there was no way I was going to have him give me a manicure. The manager got involved and told the tech to remove the polish from my toes. I was surprised he didn't offer to have someone else redo the paint job. However, I figure it's not too late to go to another nail salon. After the polish was removed I left. I ASSUMED I I DIDNT HAVE TO PAY FOR A POOR JOB. Well, I assumed wrong (NEVER ASSUME). The tech came after me and told me I had to pay for the spa part of the pedicure which was just as bad as the painting of my toes. REALLY!!!!! I was surprised. I was expected to pay $37. I told him I wouldn't pay more than $20. The manager tried to get more out of me. I paid the $20 and left. Poor Customer Service. Drove down the road to Folly Nails and the tech there did an amazing job!!!!! Now I have a great mani/pedi thanks to Folly Nails. Now I'm vacation ready!!! St. John here I come!!! read more

Today was my first time at Pink Polish and I was very pleased. I would recommend getting an appointment as the salon is not huge and it seems they only have a few nail techs. (However, it's Monday so it's hard to know). First, the salon is very clean and new. It is meticulously taken care of and they clean and sanitize everything. I got a manicure and pedicure and am very pleased. They have a variety of options to choose from and I think the prices are reasonable compared to other local salons. The nail tech spent a lot of time on my nails and did a great massage, etc. I definitely plan to return again. read more

Love them. Not only does Rick always keep me laughing but does an amazing job (as well as Valerie and Charlie!) They are incredibly sweet to my 3 daughters nail requests and 2 times I have had to go w my newborn when I broke a nail and they have pushed the stroller if she started to stir. And it doesn't have strong fumes (or she wouldn't be in there) I also am very OCD about cleanliness and they are on top of it! Thanks guys!! read more

Had the 'owner' do my pedicure. He soaked my feet, then hurriedly cut the nails, took one swipe with the file, 1 with the scrubber. barely pushed the cuticles back, sloppily applied clear undercoat, then immediately applied 2 sloppy coats of the polish. No top coat. Had to wipe around every nail with remover because of the mess he made. He just walked away after spending a total of 10 minutes on my pedicure. He came back 10 minutes later & said you're done & walked away again. I went to the register, later he came to take my money. I will say they did a good job doing my nails, and I was very satisfied with the lady who did my nails. She was very sweet and offered me beverages a few times. My nails stayed on very well, but TOO well. Normally I am able to get them off soaking my nails in 100% acetone but they wouldn't come off at all after 2 hours. I came in to get my nails removed, and the lady who removed them filed down my acrylics a little, and then pried off all my nails with a fake plastic nail. she then filed my ACTUAL nails down and made me bleed in 2 different places. She played it off at the register grabbing my hand and saying "what's that what happened?" in front of her coworker and I didn't even say anything I just wanted to leave. I left with my nails extremely brittle, damaged as can be, and bleeding. NEVER going back. read more

I had the worse experience there as a black women the lady that were doing my nails made me bleed and all she was doing was sponging my nails to get the dust off after she took my gel polish off .She made me bleed three times .They hardly talk to us ,they just ignore us talking to them like we're weren't even there . read more

Really not happy with my time here. The place is very cute and clean which is nice. Wish there was more price transparency, there is nowhere online with any information I can find unless I'm going crazy, and I didn't see any sort of price menu in the salon. Seemed like the techs were just making up prices out of thin air for me and who I went with. I don't necessarily doubt stuff is that expensive it just would be nice to have known prior. It was shocking to me that with a 15% discount my dip manicure with tips was around $60. Afterwards I didn't receive any cuticle oil or lotion like at other salons in the area so I was disappointed it seems so much more expensive. I walked away with my nails looking pretty busted till I came home and cleaned up the cuticles myself. The shape is great tho and the techs are definitely very talented, just was not a great manicure experience. They also took quite awhile, which is totally understandable as they were very busy, but again when you are paying more you expect more. Wouldn't recommend. read more
