I asked for a simple dish: a chicken caesar with the dressing on the side. "It always comes on the side," the guy at the register said. I should have checked before I departed. I got to my hotel room across the street (not three minutes away) and found that it was not only NOT on the side but that the entire salad was swimming in it. At more than $13 for a simple salad that had only Romaine, croutons, grilled chicken and a massive amount of dressing that should have been on the side, it was already overpriced. Before I could finish it, the croutons had practically melted in the sea of sauce dumped on it. (I drive ~350 miles daily, and I was in no mood to get dressed back up to go across the street to get a refund; it was a few minutes after 9 p.m.) Then there was the missing parmesan cheese which was yet another reason to give this lousy place a one-star review.

We each had Stromboli. Mine the deluxe and this one vegetable lovers. Both were great. Large and really stuffed.

I was stuck in another stopped traffic incident in I-95. So looking for a place to grab I bite I pulled off in Wilson, NC and order a Stromboli from Pino's. I'm so glad I tried this place. This an awesome Stromboli with great marinara sauce. The store wasn't much to look at inside or outside. However, the lady at the counter was super nice, friendly and greeted with a smile. That can go a long ways!! There were tons of filling and it was cooked to perfection. Some places leave the middle a little under cooked and the center bottom is almost raw... not here it was Perfect!! The marinara tasted homemade, if it's not, they fooled me! It was chunky and tasted great!

While driving north from Charleston towards New York, we stopped in here for a quick bite at lunch time on a Tuesday. It's so hard to find something that's good and quick and we ducked in here hoping that the universal love of pizza would give us something worth eating. When we arrived, we were the only ones in the restaurant during the lunch rush. The server was very friendly and told us to help ourselves to the beverage closet while we looked over the menu and decided what we wanted to order. We decided to order a pizza by the slice, and the server told us that they were running a lunch special of two slices and a drink for something like $6.50. He ordered plain cheese and I ordered cheese, ricotta, and basil. The pizza came out fast, which told me that it was probably pre-made and sitting around for somebody to order it. Both of us noted that our pizzas had a very thick layer of oil on top which was off-putting but we tried to blot it as best we could and see how the pizza was anyway. The cheese was very rubbery, and the bottom of the crust was overcooked, likely because it was cooked previously and then recooked with our new toppings. Although the server was friendly, the restaurant was somewhat odd. I noticed while I was sitting and waiting for my meal, that they had nine or 10 security cameras just in the seating area which had maybe 10 tables? I thought this was overkill or possibly an indication of the safety of where this was...or maybe someone paranoid? Regardless it was very odd to me. Prices were good however for people who are wanting a quick and cheap bite, but for me, I've had cheaper and better pizza at Costco.

Good menu with good food. But good is the best I could say, everything tastes decent however this restaurant could be certified as a laxative. I was immediately sick after eating here and could not even finish my normal portion of food. Recommended for the menu and the variety of choices but tread lightly.. read more

I am a new yorker and live in the epicenter of good pizza. The pizza was very good considering we are in North Carolina. A local joint right off 95. Old school and typical pizza joint atmosphere. no fancy decor, bordering tacky. and not the cleanest place I ever been. But acceptable. The staff was very nice and it was less than $8 for 3 slices and a pepsi. SOME TABLES OUTSIDE MADE IT GREAT FOR US TO SIT WITH OUR DOG AND A GRASSY AREA NEARBY FOR HIM TO STRETCH. If I were a NY transplant and lived in the area that would be my go to place!!! read more

We stopped there on our way back to Connecticut for a late dinner. We ordered the meatball and eggplant parm sandwiches. The eggplant was horrible. Very undercooked and hard to eat. I had to pull most of it out of the bread. They were served with fries which were pretty good and very hot. The service was alright.. The man brought us cups for the fountain as soon as we walked in. I went to order our sandwiches and the man taking the order was like "that's all you're getting?" Which I felt was a little rude. Felt like they were staring us down the whole time. Took delivery while staying at the Fairfield Inn; bad decision, grrrr...the pizza was like cardboard, very dry despite the toppings, completely lacked flavor; I took a few bites and tossed it back into the box. Also ordered: fried mushrooms & fried shrimp, all underwhelming, frozen variety/quality. I'd opt for a snack from the Fairfield Inn Market Place before eating here again. read more

This place was such a waste of time and money, the AC didn't work so it was hotter inside the restaurant than the outside temp of 90 degrees, we ordered a Greek salad and a pizza for our family. The Greek salad was nothing but ice burg lettuce with canned olives on top, and the only thing good about the pizza was the cheese, the crust was dry and the sauce was tasteless! I'd say save your money and go to Pizza Hut! read more

Driving back from Florida to Virginia Beach, we stopped off for some lunch. The food was great. The cheese steak special, chicken parmigiana, and chicken hoagie were excellent. The Italian bread was perfect and the fillings plentiful and well seasoned. My granddaughter had the kids menu pizza slice that was big enough to feed me. The place and it's facilities were exceptionally clean and the people friendly and helpful. We'll remember this place the next time we're traveling I95 in North Carolina. read more

This was the best pizza I have found in a very long time. We were traveling and staying in the hotel across the street and were prepared for possible just ok pizza. We were so thrilled with the deliciousness of our pizza. Clearly uses homemade crusts, fresh ingredients and the red sauce is home made as well. He had no problem accommodating special requests. Be prepared to be wowed and pleased as punch with Pino's Pizza. read more

Our lunch here was excellent. We ordered a cheesesteak and a chicken cheesesteak. They both came out tasting very fresh on toasted rolls. The service friendly very efficient for our short stop off I-95. The restaurant and BATHROOMS were very clean. Will definitely stop by here again in the future. read more

Here are my thoughts: very good service, food, atmosphere! My first time experiencing this place and I was impressed. The waiter was super awesome. He went as far as making fresh canolis for myself and my sister in law. The wings were delicious, as well as our pizza which we got half pepperoni and half meat lovers. We ate here because it was close to our hotel and what a good choice. Son had fried shrimp basket. He gobbled them so fast I didn't get a bite. They looked tempura style with nice hot fries. Hubby had sausage parm sandwich and fries and said it was good. I had pasta with marinara sauce and fresh mushrooms. Marinara sauce was wonderful. And they used fresh sautéed mushrooms not canned. We had the garlic knots. Different than back home. These were little knots crunchy on the outside tender on the inside brushed with butter and covered with parm. Delicious. Stopped off on our way to Florida. Nice menu, we had the lunch special two slices and soda which was very good. Next to it was a grassy area for our dog to run around which made it convenient for us. For a quick decent meal, this is the place. read more

If you're a New Yorker traveling I-95 and find yourself near Wilson NC needing a quick 'pizza fix' Pino's Pizza is pretty close to the real deal which made it worth the 5 stars to this fast food-weary traveler. (Just taking a little sweetness away from the sauce would make it even closer.) The place was nothing fancy, but the service was excellent. When I left my pocketbook and cell phone they were kind and persistent enough to track me down before I got too far down the road. What a lifesaver!! I couldn't thank them enough! read more

I was raised on east coast Italian food (NY/NJ) and had Italian grandparents. Something is definitely missing with their pasta game. It is affordable and likely good enough for the neighborhood, but their pasta dishes disappointed. We will be back for sandwiches and pizza. They have a large dining room and a robust takeout business. Their prices do not break the bank. There were several large tables with happy families chowing down. Dudes at the counter: pretend like you want us here. Mumbling and rolling your eyes at customers is not welcoming. You should smile more! You'll wait a long time if you don't call and order ahead, so don't be dumb like us.
