This place has a lot of hate based on the 'ambiance' according to Yelp, but the truth is we need to focus on the pizza! It's fantastic! First bite reminded me of some of my past favorite pizza joints from across the country. I grew up in a military family and have been all over the place, I really really liked the flavor of this pie! The sauce was perfectly savory, rich, and well-balanced. I came in on a Monday night for a couple of slices, no one was here around 6:30, there were a couple of guys behind the counter. Very straight forward, came in, paid around $10.75 for two slices and a soda. One guy heated it up and placed them into a styrofoam box. I have eaten there since the place opened, however, today I decided to stop haven't been there in about a year price went up understandable from the outside. You could not tell the place was open. And I was there at lunchtime. I decided to eat in all the tables in the dining room were dirty. The floor was dirty. The walls are dirty. Come on you guys clean the place up if the health department would've went through there today, I don't think they would've rated year too well food is good. I'd rate it about a seven. I haven't gone here in person but have ordered delivery multiple times. The pizzas usually arrive within 30-45 minutes, which is pretty decent for delivery in Woodbury. I would put the pizzas into a solid "good but not great" category. The crust is nice and thin but very bland. It's a great option for a weeknight dinner, but nothing really special that would make it stand out. read more

Pino's gets an A+ for pizza. I won't give him a grade for ambiance; just a few tables scattered around the front of the store. The pizza, however, is tremendous. Old Man Pino is still there, nearly 15 years from when I used to frequent Pino's on the regular. He and I are both older and grayer and he's still delightful and friendly. The pizza crust is homemade and he hand stretches each pizza so the size measurements are approximate! And I've never had one ever below the stated sizes! The sauce is delightful and the cheese is perfect. Although a regular pizza oven, it cooks with a lovely little char like you'd get from a wood fired oven. I had a pepperoni and he still uses the pepperoni that has a little bite of spice to it. He also sells pizza by the slice if you don't want to go with the full za experience or try first. Finding a good pizza place in the Twin Cities is tough! This is definitely not somewhere you'd go for ambience but my husband thought it was the best we've tried yet since moving from California. If you were a bunch of college guys looking to start a business.. and decided upon a pizza joint.. this would look just like that.. Except this appears to be a Italian family run business in need of a face lift. If you can ignore the floors, table, bathroom, and focus only on the pizza, this is the perfect place. We were quickly greeted at the no frills counter. Our order was ready in 15 minutes from scratch. We ordered the works and the garlic bread. The ingredients are fresh and crust crispy a well as thin. Three sauce was well balanced. We sat and ate here to really get the feel of the business. Gordon Ramsey would have made the boys wear hair nets, gloves and aprons. You can tell it's definitely a guy's place. While waiting for our order, I noticed a pizza was made with the with the wrong topping for a carry out customer. A new pizza was quickly made and given to that customer. No frills, no small talk.. just straight to the point. My advice, take it to go. But.. to eat in.. is steamy and hot. Oh the dilemma. This is the dirtiest restaurant I have seen in a long time. There are only 2 tables in the place, but the floor was covered in food and wrappers. The walls in the kitchen were filthy. Someone needs to clean this place up a bit. read more

This pizza is legit! I moved to MN in May and this is by far the best local pizza I have tried. Crust is firm but foldable all the way to the edge. Cheese had a fresh taste to it and the sauce was a little sweet, sure tastes homemade. Toppings seemed high quality on each of our pizzas. Rated 4 stars instead of 5 because of punctuality. We ordered 2 hours in advance online so we could pick it up and be gone by 1145 as we had people coming over for the game. Pizza wasn't ready until 1200 and there was nobody else in the building. That basically means they put it in the oven at the time it should have been ready. Still we will try it again and just be prepared for their lackadaisical preparation. Very mom and pop. This place is spacious but has that grimy vibe to it. Not-so clean. I just came in here to try it out for lunch while I was out and about. The owner seemed like he was Italian and was personable but a bit grumpy about the kids during the summer. There were some already made pizza for the special combo (7.25 for a can of pop and 2 large slices of pizza). I got a veggie and sausage as well as a pepperoni slice with a soda. He re-heated it up in the pizza oven and I tried it out. Not bad, but not especially good. It was the thin slice so it turned out a little flimsy and there wasn't too much sauce nor toppings so... meh. I probably wouldn't come back, since it'd be easier to just try someplace new that could be better, but if I was in the area maybe. May be try something freshly made to order from their menu. We moved away from Nino's in Maplewood, so were looking for a good replacement. We found it! I still prefer Nino's, but Pino's takes a close second. Reading that Pino's is also run by someone who came from Italy, I had high expectations. When I picked up the pizza, the kids behind the counter were all talking about Enzo, the owner. The pizza was just okay but the place was a total dive. Everything was grimy. The chairs were grimy, even the Parmesan cheese shakers were grimy. The bathrooms were horrendous. There were cob webs in the bathrooms. Story about the bathrooms: my husband comes back from the rest room saying the soap dispenser was out. He assumed it was quite a while ago since it was covered in dried and caked on soap. Then we saw an employee go in and come out, so we assumed they were alerted to the problem. Tried this for the first time and wasn't impressed by the pizza. I did not care for the sauce, and the toppings (particularly mushrooms) were skimpy. The salads which we were told would only feed one (so we ordered three) were huge, so we ended up with a lot of extra salad. Those ingredients were fresh and plentiful. We tried this for the first time last night and it was one of the best pizzas we've ever had! We just moved from Cottage Grove where our favorite place was Cassini's. We had yet to find a great pizza place here in Woodbury until now. We opened up the kids large cheese pizza and they said, "It looks exactly like Little Nero's Pizza on Home Alone!" It tasted as good as it looked. My husband and I shared the Tuscany pizza which was incredible. We loved the sausage so much that next time we just plan on ordering a sausage pizza so that the flavor isn't upstaged by anything else. We found our new Friday night pizza! We went because a friend recommended. We ordered take out on 6/2/2020. The guys in the shop were friendly. We ordered a Mediterranean pizza and a artichoke and pepper. The pizza was wildly under done. The ingredients were quite wet on top of the pizza and almost all fell off. The crust was a floppy mess all the way down to the end. The end crust, while tasty, didn't have any sort of crunch. Pretty disappointing pizza overall. I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

We really enjoy the pizza. We had some families over after a hockey game in Dec. it was a Saturday night and the said it would take 2 hours. We agreed and wait for the pizza. When they were 30 minutes late we called, they said it would be there any minute. We live less than a mile away. After 2 more calls it finally showed up. We waited well over 3 hours. The 4 pizzas and 2 pizza fries were cold. The person on the other end of the phone said they would give us a $85 credit next time. That sounded great to us. A month later we were have people over again and called ahead of time to make sure the credit was there and place our order ahead of time. We were told we don't get a credit, we should have ordered or 4 pizzas the next day if we wanted it. He told us to call back after 4 and we did. We got the same guy. This time he said he was the owner. He blamed us, said he doesn't have a manger and can't handle credits. He would do zero for us. I would have been happy ant not posted this if he would have tossed us a free pie for the long wait and cold pizza. He said he doesn't care about our business. He doesn't care about our review and to leave him alone. I hope everyone else leave Pinos alone too. Even though they were nominated "the best pizza in Woodbury" in 2007, the husband and I were in no hurry to try Pino's for about half a million reasons that have to do with the sad lack of decent restaurants around these parts. We're not independently wealthy and don't have much of a disposable income, so to speak, so dining out with the F. Family has become a very rare event indeed. So when we do go out, we either tend to rely heavily on places we've already been so the level of expectation can be set at a reasonably attainable level OR seek out the dirt cheap eats. Fortunately Pino's is cheap. I checked out the prices on their website and saw that a 12" pizza and two sodas would set us back approximately $15 so I decided that a risk that only costs $15 is a risk worth taking. Plus, "best pizza in Woodbury...," how could I resist? Now, the thing about Pino's is that it's in a strip mall (like most Woodburian establishments) so in about 20+ years, it will probably be bitchin' awesome, because it is a known fact that strip mall restaurants (the ones that don't go out of business) get better with age. As of right this instant, the location is personality minus. It's too sterile. The pizza itself was okay. The sweetish sauce was a little weird for my taste but my husband liked it and I wouldn't be opposed to eating it again (it had one of those flavors that would probably grow on me). The toppings were fresh and I loved the crust. It was a little bit chewy and a little bit crunchy and since they hand-toss the fresh crust when you order, we got to watch the guy make our pizza from scratch. Also, since the entire kitchen workspace is visible from the dining room, I was able to clock our pizza from the instant it left the oven until the moment it made it to our table. Now thats-a-tasty-pizza-pie! I must admit, walking into Pino's made my nose crinkle a bit, its not ascetically pleasing and feels like it might suck. My friend Kate also had the same reaction. Walking up to the counter and reading the menu didn't make me feel much better, but we were hungry and were told it would be fast. The place was empty at 5pm and we were on a schedule, so we ordered. You can get pizza by the slice with a soda, but we decided on getting a whole pizza. I cannot remember the name of said pizza, but it had a pesto sauce, olives and lots of awesome cheese. Perhaps it was called the Mediterranean Pizza...? We ordered a 16" (remember, we were hungry) and waited . It only took about 10-15 minutes for our pizza to be completed and delivered to our table. We finished our sodas long before the pizza came and the staff was nice enough to refill our cups, even though the soda machine was behind the counter, no free refills. First, let me say, whoa, a 16" is way bigger than I expected and way more than enough for two hungry girls. Second, holy yummy, Batman! While super greasy (from the awesome cheeses) it was absolutely delicious. The pesto sauce with the cheese and olives was an amazing combination that made my taste buds dance in delight. We finished about half of this large pizza and took the rest home to eat later. If I am ever in Woodbury again, I will certainly come back to Pino's for a slice (or two). read more

Pino's was in a recent issue of the Woodbury magazine 'best-of' for pizza, so I was afraid I'd been missing out on a fantastic pizza experience and had to give it a try. The crust was almost flavourless. The sauce was overly sweet. The cheese was *very* salty (which did impart some flavour, at least). The sausage tasted like green peppers (which I didn't like, but that's more of a personal preference). I'd prefer Carbone's (which is about 50 feet away) or Davanni's over Pino's. Called in an order for pickup tonight. It was amazing! So much flavor and I loved the basil on the pizza (nice touch). I highly recommend "the Tuscany". My whole family loved it. I was traveling to St Paul so they partially baked it for me and I finished baking it when I got home on my pizza stone. It was perfect. If you need your pizza to travel don't be afraid to ask them to do that for you. It works out nicely. So go out and try the Tuscany.. In my opinion you won't be disappointed. read more
