Hidden gem here in Buffalo! Delicious lumpia, spam with rice, and especially the ube cheesecake and the cassava cake!

Popped in right before they close for a bit because I heard they had a vegan version of their "bistek" dish. The rumors were true - you can get vistek with vegan lumpia on top. The vistek is a vegan beef - looks like beyond steak bits or something somilar- cooked with onions and served over rice with the fried lumpia (like a long spring roll) on top and a dipping sauce. The onions are the only veggies in this dish. It's good. I'm not aware of any other places in town where you can get vegan Filipino food - so check them out.

Attend a Yelp Event and this restaurant was featured. Located in the old Expo, downtown Buffalo, theater district. Ambience was cool, open and interesting. The space holds several restaurants and is like a gallery of different foods and drinks. The chef was personable and shared why he's so passionate about Philippino food. That translated, because everything was VERY good. Fried rice was typical, BBQ Pork was different, but every good. Reminded me of a pork belly taste without the candied exterior. I didn't have the Lumpia due to it being fried, but my fellow Yelper literally ate mine and his, so it MUST be delicious. The dessert was perfect! Not too sweet. The Ube (purple yam) cheesecake was delightful-Soft, fluffy, velvety, great flavor. The cassava cake was surprisingly served warm, with a texture that looked and felt slightly gelatin-like, but not chewy. It had a smooth, light taste. I'd highly recommend taking a chance on this place.

    Cheesecake. You will love this.

Wanted to check out this spot in the Downtown bazaar and was not disappointed. I've never had Filipino food before so I didn't really have any expectations going in but I got the Pork Sisig, which is essentially a minced pork dish served over rice. Also tried the Lumpia, which are fried spring rolls with pork, cabbage, and carrots. Both items were tasty and I'm looking forward to going back to try those and other things on the menu soon!

Wonderful food and service. Had a small snack here before heading to a happy hour. We ordered a small Pancit with fried egg and 3 Lumpias [similar to spring rolls). We loved both items. The spring rolls were crispy with a vegetable filling and sweet dipping sauce. The Pancit was full of veggies and rice noodles, stir-fried and topped with an egg. The egg was perfectly cooked and tasted wonderful with the dish. We will be back and I suggest you also give it a try!

Wanted to try some Filipino food and was very enjoyable. The lupia had a ground meat filling with veggies the pork belly was crispy and the Fried garlic put the dish over the top. Will be back to try other menu items definitely a 10/10.

Ordered take out via Uber Eats. Appears to be a new stand at the Broadway street market. Super excited for the first filipino cuisine restaurant that I know of in Buffalo. Glad to see the diversity steadily growing in the last 10+ years I've been living here. Full transparency, I upvoted this review to 5 stars because of the fact that it is the only Filipino food in Buffalo I know of. That being said, both my wife and I really enjoyed the food. It was actually her first time ever eating Filipino food as she was born and raised in Buffalo. She was asking why I never exposed her to it before! Extra excited to visit the Broadway way street market now. I never heard of it until recently when it made the news for reopening for the first time since the covid pandemic started. Would love to try the various ice creams that are on the menu that wouldn't deliver well Tip, they are currently only open Fri/Sat at time of writing review.

While in Buffalo today, I enjoyed Pinoy Boi. Delicious! Kare Kare, pancit behon, lumpia, rice, ube flan and mango boba from Pattaya street food. Highly recommend! #filipinofood #buffalony #pinoyboi Filipino Strong

There are no filipino restaurants in the Rochester area so I had to drive to Buffalo to check this out! Got the Bisteak Bowl & Lumpia of course. Hands down the best lumpia I've had beside my own nanay's. Great pricing & service too!

Amazing food! Good flavor! Only negative is if you are in a hurry, I wouldn't come here, it took about 25 mins for my food to come out.

I don't really write negative reviews, so I gave it some time to process to see if it was just my…read moreopinion at the time. It's been about a month and a half since it's passed, so here's my honest take of the restaurant part of this store. We visited Niagara Falls for three days and as was the highlight of our 2.5 week vacation in eastern Canada. My family and I normally eat at a Filipino food place at least once to vibe how the Filipino food and community is at an area. Lo and behold, J&B Filipino/Asian Store was only a 10 minute walk from our hotel, which is a 20 minute walk from the actual falls, or a 5 minute drive. Nice! The first time we went there, we checked out the grocery store section part of the store, but we didn't really need any Filipino snacks since we are already familiar with it and have them at home in Hawai'i. The next day, we tried to eat at the restaurant, but we were abruptly told that the restaurant was closed. The man wasn't the smiley, friendly type and wasn't Filipino himself, so we felt a bit bad, but I gave him the benefit of the doubt because everyone has bad days. The very next day, the restaurant was actually open this time, so we went to try it out. We were actually given menus at our seat, but told us to order up at the cashier (which is weird, pick either service or turo-turo style lol). It was a relatively long wait, about 20-25 minutes, but good food takes a while to make. I wish I could say it was good, but it wasn't that. First of all, what kind of Bicol Express has no gata and all bagoong? I was fully expecting Bicol Express, even confirmed it twice upon ordering and receiving, but was vastly disappointed at what I ate, which is far too salty for my taste. I left unsatisfied with my meal. I didn't want to ruin the vibe with my family, so I didn't mention anything until my mom mentioned that her bangus (milkfish) was stale. I tasted it myself, it was! No wonder my sister's husband from Canada who grew up in Ontario hated fish. Fish from Ontario, Canada is tasteless/stale due to being imported (unlike fresh in Hawai'ior the Philippines)!!! Next, my normally quiet brother is usually content with everything, but his sisig was tasteless! Is there even a Filipino working in the back, or is the Filipino food in Canada not tasty at all (not the case since we had better Filipino food in Montreal in future days)? Finally, the vibe of the sole employee at the time speaks of no customer service or Pinoy (or even Canadian) hospitality at all. He was quite blunt, but it could be his personality. He also blasted Cuban music in the store, which I'm not against, but the environment didn't feel authentically Filipino to me and felt disingenuine. No wonder this place wasn't visited at all, which is a disappointment since this place has good reviews from a year ago. It's possible that the owners have changed and the quality went downhill. I don't think I'll ever recommend this restaurant to anyone I know, and we've learned to avoid this place the next time we visit Niagara Falls. Two stars is still a bit generous and I don't want to badmouth a restaurant completely over one visit, but it's my lowest rating out of any establishment at the time of this post.

I contacted customer service and they as encouraged to reschedule out to the store directly. The customer care person attempted to transfer me but couldn't get a hold of the store I called multiple times and couldn't get through either. So as any one would who is stuck between a rock and a hard place I decided to stop by in person and speak to a manager. For context here I started calling right at 10:45 a.m. because according to google that's the time that they open. Did they actually open? Did the staff just ignore the calls? Who knows? I get to the store at 11:06 I explain the situation and ask if they would be willing and able to accommodate. The staff same manager said they would check and let me know. To be clear here I don't want to sound entitled or suggest that they should do something id they're unable. However, i think the concern for me is the communication and care surrounding these issues are so lackluster. No clarification. Just a dismissive short we can't do this unfortunately. No inquiring about when it would be needed etc. The part that's all the more infuriating is that if I went online and placed family pack meals it would've given me the option to do so. I shouldn't have to train and coach staff on how to offer the basic level of customer service and empathy. On top the fact that anytime I go to this location the quality is lackluster.
