Fish Taco and a shredded Beef taco with a Pastelito
Connie J.

Newly moved from their Clinton St. Location to 2097 Seneca St. Yummy's is off to a good start. My husband and I had great meals at the old location and were excited to try the new place. The new place is a step up in lighting and seating. You can get take out but the seating is comfortable. Keep in mind if you eat in there is a 10% gratuity added to the check. We came in to eat after 2 but before dinner. The new menu offers alot more variety. I chose the Steak with yellow rice with a white sauce. It was so tasty. The steak was plentiful. It was chopped up with the white sauce drizzled over the top. It was garlicky but not overly so. My husband's fish taco while breaded was still hot and crispy. The shredded beef taco was an ample potion. The star of the show was the pastelito It was crispy hot from the fryer. The beef stuffing was surrounded by a light crust. A pocket of tastiness We will definitely be back to try more of the menu.

How to order the PATACON SANDWICH
Alisha C.

I found a review on Facebook that featured the Patacon sandwich at Yummys. I was instantly ready to order mine. I ordered it exactly how the post said to, with steak and tostone sauce on the side for dip. It was tasty. Of course the texture is tougher than regular bread with the plantain which offers so much more flavor. The steak had a great taste and the sauce added the extra needed flavor. To me the tostone sauce reminds me of a remixed Yum Yum sauce. I like many others LOVE Yum Yum sauce and I believe that many culture use the same types of base for similar sauces with slight variations. Overall pretty pretty pretty good.

Beef and cheese pastilito

I found this place on yelp while in the area and it was closed when I first tried to go(on a Monday). I was around a few days later and they were open so I called in my order based on other reviews. It was around lunch time but wasnt busy. I got the Spanish style steak and yellow rice dinner and wow it was really good! I was only going to get that, but they mentioned pastilitos and I had to try. The pastilitos were the smaller ones, but so good. I mean better than a lot of places I've tried in Buffalo. I paid about $20 for the dinner and 2 pastilitos so not bad to me. I am so happy I found this place and cant wait to go back. Support this gem in Buffalo!

Macaroni Salad, tostones (fried green bananas) carne guisada with red pepper and onions
Myra C.

The food is always fresh when I come here, we took it too go of course. I ate the white rice with the beans which were scrumptious with fried fish and I ate some macaroni salad. My family ate the chicken with the yellow rice and sweet plaintains and also steak with onions and peppers. We all tried the macaroni salad and ate the fried green bananas (tostones) we also enjoyed the pastelillos which one was ground beef & cheese the other was shrimp consisted of a pastry dough wrapped with all that yummy stuff and fried. Anything fried is Oh-so-good. also I got a desert to go a sweet potatoe & coconut pudding which was delicious definitely if your in the area stop by and support our local restaurants.

I have officially tried them again and this is definitely a place to go. Ordered through Grubhub. Food was still warm when I got it. Spanish style steak is REALLY GOOD! The meat is so tender. The Patacon (fried banana sandwich) is a game changer. My food also came with macaroni salad that was pretty good. If you haven't tried them yet I definitely recommend!

I ordered pickup and the food was AMAZING. I ordered a fried green banana sandwich with steak and chipotle sauce and it was truly mind blowing how good it was. Don't judge this restaurant by how it looks on the outside!

She asked if we were looking for anything special and answered all of our questions- just a lovely person! So many layers of butter and flaky crust, just so incredible. The Asiago and everything bun was my favorite item. It was buttery and salty and everything just fit together perfectly with the Asiago cheese in it. For a sweet item I absolutely recommend the cannoli croissant! When I saw the dangling hock of prosciutto di Parma over the sandwich station, they had me at, "hello"! (See posted pictures of the menu for all the glorious choices with prosciutto). I tried a tomato danish, which had a thin slice of provolone cheese underneath, which nicely tied the flavors together. The architecture of the pastry was incredible: Flaky on the outside, chewy on the inside: Yum! After a long drive to have brunch somewhere on Elmwood, just to find the doors locked, I ventured…read moreover here to have lunch and it did not disappoint! First off, I was greeted and found staff friendly and efficient! You have plenty of options for seating .. dining area, front bar, back bar, even an outdoor patio bar. Although it is dive bar-esque, it was nice and clean (let's be honest .. some dives have a stench and stickiness that can definitely ruin your appetite, no matter how much you may love them). They have a set up for bands to play, as one was playing while I was there for their 2 year anniversary (congrats!). What was nice is although I could hear the band (it was playing in the back and I was up front), it wasn't over whelming me. I have eaten places where, no matter where you sit, it's extremely loud, and I appreciated that you had a choice here. Now onto the food: The food should have been doomed to fail; my tastebuds were prepared to eat sweet, buttery, syrupy French toast with a mocktail at brunch elsewhere. But wasn't hyped about the menu because of this (which is not dog and pony's fault .. I had to work and didn't have time to research where else brunch was available). I settled on the umami smashburger by a suggestion of my waitress. Now once again, could have been doomed to fail as I'm not a French fry person and my favorite cheeseburger is one I make on my own. BUT WOW their food blew me away and made me forget all about my brunch let-down. The French fries were fantastic and had a great seasoning on them! The smashburger was great to the last bite .. and I was NOT expecting to finish it as it was a really nice portion (I ate lunch now 10 hours ago and didn't need to eat again it was so filling!) but it was so dang gone good I sure finished it! Smoked cheddar .. chimichuri aioli ... kimchi bacon jam .. oh ya that bacon jam was EVERYTHING!! Thank you to the staff at Dog and Pony for making my long drive worth while!

I ordered the smash burger, my husband ordered the turkey sandwich. After we were waiting for our food for over 25 minutes, the server came over and said that he was just informed they don't have the turkey because they had an issue with that freezer. Ok, so my husband ordered the cheese steak because he was super excited for the bahn mi roll. My smash burger was alright, but the bread they use for their burgers remind me of those cheap buns you get from TOPS that just fall apart. The worst part was that they forgot the dog sauce on my burger, so I asked for the sauce, and THEY CHARGED ME FOR ASKING FOR SAUCE THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO ALREADY BE ON THE BURGER I ORDERED. My husband made sure to tell me after we already left because he knew I would have fought it and our already 1.5 hour long lunch date would have been longer waiting for the refund... He ordered the cheesesteak and the sandwich was so small, and the "bahn mi bun" wasn't even toasted which is a signature for bahn mi bread. He said the flavor was fine but nothing to rave about. The worst part, for me, were the French fries that came with both of our meals. They were soooo heavily peppered that they were inedible. We asked for ketchup to try to make them tolerable, and they gave us a pre-portioned small cup of ketchup... You serve french fries with most of your menu, why isn't there ketchup on the table?!? Overall, It was a nice place to have on senrca street which used to only have the blackthorn and franchescas, but I would not eat here again.
