Everything good and corrected to my curtains but they need to change the address it was wrong..

I needed a bridesmaid dress shortened and the side slit opened up more. I called and the lady tells me it's ready. I went to pick up the dress to find that she didn't open the side and the hem on the bottom is all wonky. She initially said $65 for both but when I told her she didn't do the side slit she only took $5. $60 for that kind of work is too much! On top of that, there are some black stains on the dress and what looks like a stitch. When I told her about the stains she said it might be the fabric, probably had oils on it. I think sometime happened to my dress while it was suppose to be under her care. I didn't even bother arguing with her because I have to go out of town the next day for the wedding. I will never go back here the lady was extremely rude and over charged me like crazy.

Next to a hair salon and tucked away in a old strip mall sits this little shop. The owner is a small Mexican lady who is so polite she reminded me of my own mom. I explained in English ( then Spanish to be sure ) and she nodded in agreement. The turn around was quick and NOBODy I know locally can beat her prices. She sewed some patches on s leather vest for me and her tweeks to my desired look were ON POINT. ( Still not sure what that means..lol ) Her work is amazing. I needed four pants tapered. She didn't taper enough. After trying them on, the lady said it would cost more money to taper more. After arguing for a few minutes, she started speaking Spanish like she didn't understand anything I was saying. Because I was raised to respect older people, I paid her and left. I told her I will tell my friends not to come here. She said " I have plenty of customers." She was a rip off. She will take your money. You get what you pay for. Used to like this place. Reasonable, friendly, established business. Something changed. I think ownership. When I've called recently, they just answer "hello". Both times not sure if it's the business. It is now "cash only". When dropping off, another customer was picking up. Very upset when they didn't take atm cards. Woman said cash or check. Lady came back with check. Owner said cash only. They argued about this and price. Customer asked why, and young girl there said she lost her documents so can't go to the bank right now... Ive paid by check before. Rarely carry much cash. I was told the first time I called they were open til 7pm. Today I got a call, weekday, they are closing at 2, today and tomorrow if I wanted to pick up. I happened to be off early so I could. I get cash, arrive by 1:50... closed sign. I call to see if still there..."hello"? Woman says... I ask if Pins n Needles, see if still there. She does let me in. Tells me a "family emergency" in LA. It seems the price has gone up for hemming, but can't say for sure since I don't go there that often. The work itself is probably fine but the business establishment feels flaky now. We'll find another seamstress. read more

I came to her on Tuesday and I asked for a simple hem for my pants. She charged me $12. When I came to pick it up the next day, I told her it was still too long. She said "it looks fine" and refused to redo shorten the hem. read more

Watch out. This place will rip you off. They charged me $240 to alter two bridesmaids dresses. They needed to be taken in on the side and hemmed. She said it would be a simple fix but then charged me enough money to practically buy two whole new dresses! When I arrived to pick them up on the day she said they were ready, I got there and they weren't done correctly, so I had to come back the following day to pick them up. This time they were done right but it looked like she had gotten a little bit of food on the inside of one of the dresses. I asked her what it was and she said it must have been chalk, but it was definitely food. For sure never going back! Next time I need alterations done, I'm going to find somewhere else. read more

I needed to get a dress altered, the lady working there was very nice and did a great job. I got it back in less than a week too.

The owner and his wife are super friendly! They are very knowledgeable about tailor suits. It is a very small joint tucked away deep into Escondido. I have had 3 total suits tailored from them and all have come out to perfection. It is roughly around 68 bucks to have a suit tailored to my needs. It was a 2 day turn around and I couldn't have been happier. I will definitely be a returning customer and refer all my friends. Keep in mind I drive from rancho Bernardo and pass many tailoring shops along the way. But I still come back to this local spot. read more

Best place to get alterations done. Both the man and the woman who work there are incredibly friendly and helpful. I have been getting my clothes altered here for years. They have altered everything from my uniform skirts (when I was at catholic school) to my prom dresses and my dress pants. They always do an amazing job and you can't even tell that they were altered. The job is always done in a short amount of time (usually you can pick up your item the next day) and the price is good. I have never had a reason to go anywhere else so I don't plan to for the foreseeable future! read more

Took some jeans in on a Saturday afternoon for alterations and he measured me and a sample pair that I had. He was courteous and communicated well. Jeans were done when he said they would be for pickup on Monday afternoon. A painless experience! read more

Alvaro and his wife run the small business! They are so friendly and great, hardworking people. I had taken an item to get done at a dry cleaning shop on Mira Mesa Blvd. they did a terrible and incomplete job! So soon after I moved to Escondido, I found Pins and Needles right by my home and Alvaro and his wife fixed the item up so well! Great work done in a timely manner for a reasonable price! This place is exceptional! I've gone there twice now to have dresses hemmed and they do a fantastic job every time without my paying an arm and a leg. My parents come here for alterations on their uniforms and don't trust anyone else. read more

I've taken items to this business for years with mediocre results at best. I wasn't really looking for anything special, definitely not attention-todetail work, and they're cheap. But when I did need good tailoring they failed miserably despite very specific instructions of what I needed. And of course, they all forgot how to speak English all of a sudden. I definitely made a mistake with this business thinking they could step up to the plate. I do not recommend giving them your business unless you really aren't too concerned about the quality of work and wouldn't mind throwing away whatever they're doing for you. read more

I will never recommend this place to anyone. I took in 2 dresses to be hemmed, one I had bought to attend a wedding. He measured them both to be the same length. The one for the wedding was two tiered and it was the lining and the lower tier that needed a very slight hitch. I was horrified when I got them back. The one dress was fine and at the length I wanted, the wedding dress was ruined. He had brought the whole length to the level of the upper tier, making the dress all the same length at the bottom and ridiculously short. I can not wear this dress. I went back to discuss this and got nothing but refusal and hostility, even though I showed him both dresses together and there is about 3 inches difference in the length. He said he never makes mistakes, wouldn't discuss it and he would not refund my money. He practically pushed me out the door of the shop. This is dishonorable business. He was charming when I took the dresses in but nasty when I returned with a problem. I would not be writing this review if he had made good his error, by refunding my $25 that I paid to hem this dress, and at least been humble with some sort of apology read more
