I've ordered takeout from here multiple times now and love it. The online ordering process is smooth and my food is always ready when u get there within 15-20 minutes. You can also grab as many sauce packets as you'd like. The restaurant itself is small with few tables but I think it's good for a quick casual dinner before a Northwestern game or a weeknight meal. Not all the dishes are great though so choose wisely! My personal favorites are the curries especially red and panang. Among noodles I like pad woonsen and pad kee mao. read more

Two thumbs up for an excellent first stop at Pinto Thai. Suffice it to say we are happy to have discovered it. We came for a weekday lunch and found the menu to be pretty extensive with a nice range of choices. We were greeted promptly and snagged the last table in the smaller, bright and very clean dining area. The woman working was hustling taking orders and serving food. We chose the chicken Pad Thai lunch special with baby egg rolls (very cute, pinky finger size) and the garlic chicken and rice special with the cucumber salad. The Pad Thai was really good with thinner noodles and a good amount of chicken, but they basically don't add any heat so I would ask for the spice level to be upped next time. And the sauce was not the sweet version that you get at a lot of places. The garlic chicken was very flavorful with a nice accompaniment of broccoli and carrots. The 3 baby egg rolls were crispy outside and tender, meaty inside with the good sweet chile pepper sauce. The cuke salad was simply good with crisp cukes and a simple, non-oily vinaigrette. The food came out quickly and piping hot. And can't beat the $9.95 price and portion-size for each of the 2 things we ordered! Can't wait to go back to try other dishes, including a curry. read more

It's $9-11 (depending on your choice of protein) for an appetizer and virtually any entree. My friend got the Pad Thai, I got the Panang curry, and we both ordered the egg roll appetizer. The egg roll appetizer was literally just one extremely miniature egg roll but was appreciated nevertheless. Our main dishes were slam dunks and came in HUGE portions so we both had leftovers to take home! Food is good but packaging is not ideal. I ordered a Panang curry with noodle, and they packaged the noodle inside the curry even though I requested the noodles to be on the side. I had to paid extra $ for the crispy noodle and they thought it's ok to mix it in with the curry!? The "crispy" noodle was extremely soggy by the time I got home to eat it. It was nasty. read more

I can honestly say that this is the best thai food that I have ever had. Even better than the outrageously expensive Lotus of Siam. It is a small space, but tables are always available ; the staff is small, but very attentive; the food is truly excellent, the prices moderate, the place is spotlessly clean, and the atmosphere is nice. So happy we tried this hidden gem. Pinto Thai not only has amazing food but, they have also been giving back a lot to the community. They have a wide variety of Thai food! Anything from curries, lard na, tom yum and much more. They also have large selection of appetizers, main dishes, rice, noodles, desserts, and drinks. We tried the salt and pepper squid, crab racoon, sesame chicken, and chuchi salmon. It was all amazing! I spent three years working in Thailand and my partner is from there and this is definetly the best Thai food in chicago area! Plus the salmon was the first dish that was finally spicy enough! I ordered Orange chicken on Wed eve. It was too fibrous to chew. The pieces were small and only 1-2 were soft. The rice and veggies were good. The crab rangoon was good. I could not eat the orange chicken. It was 7 pm and looked like the scraps were left. I called back and lady offered me a 15% discount although I heard a lady in background say "20%". I generally don't leave negative reviews without giving the restaurant a chance to make things right and in this case I did. We ordered take out from this place. I ordered a noodle dish and while I was chewing my food I felt something that was not dissolving/I could not chew it. I pulled the noodles out of my mouth to find a large piece of thick string. (Photo attached) I called the restaurant to let then know and they apologized and told us that the noodles come bundled in string and that the cook must have forgot to take the string off of the noodles. I then had to go back to the restaurant to show them the food in order to get my money back. I didn't think this was an adequate solution to chewing on dirty string. I said this as much to the manager/owner and she got hostile. We won't be ordering from here again. read more

This place is pretty decent. It's not too expensive, maybe $10/entree or so. Portion size is okay too. It was enough for dinner. They have lunch specials, and I'd be curious to try them. I got the pad see ew with chicken. I was fine with the noodles and the broccoli. The chicken was a bit dry though, and towards the end I was forcing myself to eat the chicken. I think I would try a different meat next time. I did find it weird that they have Japanese food here too (spicy miso soup?). I don't really think it's good for restaurants to mix two different types of cuisines. Quality tends to be lower. read more

I ordered lunch for delivery. My husband and I shared the shumai which was good but not the best I've had. My husband orders the Singapore noodles with shrimp and he loved it. I though it was ok. And there isn't any, it has tomatoes and raisins instead ( never seen them in other Thai fried rice in other restaurants). I asked the ladies when paying the bill, and one told me, why you didn't ask at the beginning? Okay, so still my fault. The yellow curry with tofu. I am not a picky eater, but literally anyone can make it better if you purchase the yellow curry powder from grocery shop and cook it at home. Just waste money.
