Contrary to most Yelpers, I wanted NOT to like this place; however, the burgers and staff surprised me yesterday and earned an update. On my previous visit, I was greeted with a clientele that looked more at home on the Jersey shore than a bar in Elmhurst and service just shy of awful. Being Sunday, Bigby's Pour House was closed for the day, but I still needed a place to cool off with a beer and some grub after a brutal day at the driving range. Complete 180. The Illini burger, which consisted of a buffalo burger, blue cheese, and balsamic onions, was served with sweet potato fries. DELICIOUS. My burger was cooked perfectly (surprisingly hard to find) and served on an awesome pretzel roll. The sweet potato fries were also amazing and served with a unique maple syrup based sauce that both surprised and really impressed me. The biggest improvement this time around was the service. We had the most attentive waitress I have seen in a long time. Our food came out hot, fast, and delicious. Our water never ran out. Our beers were refilled right as we finished them, and we immediately received our check when we requested it. Perfect service. I will most likely stop here again when I need a great burger and a good draft. read more

Came here for the first time on Tuesday to watch the Cubs game. Sat at the bar and was approached immediately by the bartender, who was very knowledgeable about craft beer. She let me sample a pumpkin cider that was awesome! My husband and I asked for appetizers recommendations, and the bartender suggested Pot Roast Nachos. Those were also just delicious! The whole place was packed, but we never had to wait to order drinks. The bartender was on it! When we asked her if Pints shows Packers games (my husband is a fan...not me!), she said they have the Sunday Ticket and that they show every game on Sundays. We will be back for sure! read more

I've been here a handful of times and plan to go a couple handfuls more! As an Indiana alum, I like somewhere with plenty of TVs for games, and Pints is always accommodating when the Hoosiers are on! The staff is very friendly, and the bartenders are pretty knowledgable if you test them. They always seem to have new beers on tap, and they have no problem letting you sample them! Pints is my go-to bar whenever I'm in Elmhurst. It has a Chicago neighborhood vibe to it, yet at the same time is more upscale than your average pub/sports bar. They carry a lot of local craft beer that other places in the area don't, and I've never eaten anything there that I didn't like. They also have a friendly staff and a cool beer garden in back with tvs. Bonus: it's within walking distance from the train! read more

We dropped by for a quick drink. The placed seem really cool to hang out, but the kitchen close at 8pm if you are looking for food. I wanted to try the burger and was disappointed that I missed it. Yay! Glad this little bar is in Elmhurst. Pints is a pretty cool place to come unwind with a group of friends and grab a brew. It's not huge and seems to get pretty cramped on the weekends, so try to come early if you wanted to grab a seat. Pints always has a great beer selection and their food is delicious. The best part of the pints experience is definitely in their waitstaff. Shannon and Nicole are always looking out for their customers and provide the best service. Any time I walk in there Shannon has a table for me, no matter how packed the place is (this place is lit on a Tuesday night). Nicole is a top notch waitress and provides the best recommendations for any pallet. Also Elisa behind the bar is definitely a world class bar tender. I once sat down at the bar without ordering anything and she gave me a beer that was exactly what I wanted. As long as I live in the area Pints will be my regular bar. To close out this review I'd like to finish by saying anyone that gave this place bad rating most likely takes their Yelping too seriously and are in general difficult people to please. Three of us met up with others from the Chicago Liverpool's supporters group (close to 60 people here). For the European cup final. Bar staff and servers worked really hard to make us welcome, and keep the drinks coming. We had a great time, and will be using it again. Burgers were tasty as well. read more

My Roomate and I have probably come 7 out of the last 9 Thursdays for Football and their specials. I truly love this place, The staff are always really kind and do recognize their regulars. this place is pretty solid, which is why i frequent it so often...almost weekly. Good food menu with seasonal options always a good choice. The Beer menu is pretty great as well! Many many options on beer selection which makes it pretty fun to experiment. As much as i do enjoy coming here with friends, like i said we come almost weekly, there's much to say about the servers here. Wether there is 2 of us or 8 of us hanging out for a drink and grub, we've experienced almost every rude waitress known to man. The manager himself is great and so are SOME of the servers but for the most part many waitresses there have had REALLY bad attitudes every single time we visit Pints. I can only speak for myself when i say i'd like to think i tip pretty well and are not that difficult to serve, nor are my friends. We do continue to visit the bar but are starting to think of alternatives after the constant and almost predictable likelihood of recieivng bad service from the waitresses. One of the few bars I frequent in downtown Elmhurst. They have a 'better than most' selection of draft and bottle beer and have decent drink/food specials as well. I try to not leave negative reviews but this one is severely earned. My fiancé and I booked our rehearsal dinner at Pints back in April. We put down a significant deposit and were told we were all set. I called today to confirm everything only to be told there's no record of our booking and someone else has booked the place. I spoke to the manager and he did nothing to try and correct this enormous mistake. An apology does not cut it in this situation. He offered a completely different place for me to try which isn't actually helpful. If I had wanted a different place I would have booked one in the first place. I strongly believe that our reservation was made first and the correct course of action would have been to confirm that and ensure that our booking got priority. It would be easy to do this based on when deposits were put down. This did not seem to be an option which is outrageous. This is the opposite of good customer service. To not even attempt to make it right after taking our money and not offering any real solutions is unacceptable. Planning a wedding is challenging enough but the incompetence I've experienced in dealing with Pints has been unparalleled. I cannot recommend enough that people look elsewhere if they're trying to book an event because putting down a deposit guarantees you nothing. read more

A group of us came to Pints for lunch on Feb 25, 2012. We had 90 minutes for lunch - everyone ordered burgers or a sandwich...our food took almost 50 minutes to come out. Mind you, there were NO MAJOR sporting events in TV. When we complained to the manager - she actually BLAMED us for coming there on a Saturday! She said she'd take care of some of the items on our bill - she didn't. The food was ok, but the service was horrible! I can pay $11 for a burger at 5 guys & get better (& much faster) service! Bloody Marys are delicious- a meal in itself.. and comes with a beer shooter. $5 on Sunday as well-- can't beat it. BBQ salad is my favorite- best salad around! The kids love the $1 sliders on the weekend too. Just a great local spot with a very warm and friendly atmosphere. read more

Wow- just left Pints. We wanted a place with music, tv, food and good service. Food was great, beer selection was good however you were out of Guinness, moscato, and Pinot (on a FRIDAY night??? Really?!?!). Sat at the bar (3 of us). 9PM. It was st. Patty's Day, so I understand that it's busy- that said- why wasn't there more than two "bartenders". Working? The house was packed- but 2 people to pour drinks to a full house? I spose 2 bartenders would be fine if two (or even 1) were even somewhat decent. Wholly cow- the worst service EVER in my history of being in the food business. The girls' name is "Rae"?? Horrible!!!! Pints owners- you'd be miles ahead if you put a monkey in her place and hoped they paid attention a little to your customers. At least a monkey would be entertaining. She walked passed us at least 30 times, never making eye contact, never asking us if she could help us, flirting with the young boys, checking her phone, we heard her complaining about how hard she was working (she'd apparently been there since 6- I'm assuming 5 hours earlier). We basically had to jump over the bar to get her attention to ask for anything we wanted. Drinks, food, check- if I was having a heart attack she would not notice. My family came in from out of town to go to an Irish bar for food and drinks and we had crap service, no Guinness, and a crappy time. Pints is pretty cool. I mean, its just a sports bar, but it has a really great vibe, decent beer list, and a ton (I mean a TON) of TV's which is all I need from a sports bar. We ordered some drinks and an app and watched the game for a bit. Bell's Best Brown is the beer of the month for $4 this January, so I was pretty pumped. The fried mac and cheese was pretty good - nice and creamy - but to be honest I'm not sure if they had been frozen or if they were fresh (leaning toward frozen). Plus they didn't come with a dipping sauce (boo!). The staff was great at keeping our drinks filled and staying on top of us even though we ordered apps and waited for a long time before actually ordering dinner. Usually when you do this you need to flag down the waiter who is half ignoring you by this time. Not here - they checked every time someone was low on a drink and just seemed to appear when we merely glanced toward the stack of menus on our table. I ended up just getting the chopped salad as it had been a weekend full of heavy food and beer already, but I was glad I did. It was really delish. I know chop salads are supposed to come all divided up to look pretty, but they had it all mixed together and it was appreciated at that point. I could just dig in! My husband got the Buckeye burger (although it broke my heart that he'd order something named after Ohio State) which was really quite good. The couple we were with got the blackened chicken sandwich (the Legend or something I think it was called?) which was probably my favorite out of everything and the Cheerleader which was a black bean burger. For some reason I don't think I tried the black bean burger, but I think she said it was pretty good. I did steal some of her sweet potato fries which were so good! ...just easy on the dipping sauce that comes with it as it is intense...and I'm not sure how necessary it really is. The food isn't anything overly amazing, so don't come here solely for that. However, I would HIGHLY recommend this place to watch the game or just to hang out with some friends...and while you are here if you are hungry get that chicken sandwich... Yum! read more

Be careful when you order a beer here. I ordered a 23oz craft beer special here one time. The waitress brought the beer in a mug smaller than a 16 oz pint glass. The mug was even marked on the inside at 400ml. I explained to her that there was no way that was 23 oz since 1 US fluid oz was equal to 30ml. 400 ml / 30 ml is 13.3 oz (not 23 oz). I told her I was a chemist and I deal with liquid volumes for a living. She came back with the manager and told me they measured the glasses and I was incorrect. After arguing for a while, the manager got tired and gave me a free beer. It's water under the bridge but I think that if they advertise a beer for 23 oz, they should serve it as 23 oz and not 13 oz. Gas stations get fined for not having their pumps calibrated to the proper volumes. I think the same should be true for restaurants and bars. I used to go here quite a bit but I haven't been back since this happened. I didn't like the way I was treated. I don't think I will ever go back. The atmosphere is nice and food is good which is why I am giving it two stars instead of one. read more
