One of my favorite restaurants. My Husband and I have been coming here for about 14 years now. I was a late comer due to the fact that I myself am not an adventurous eater; but now I'm hooked. This would've been 4 stars but I deducted because of service by Amber. She took our drink order and then came back to take our food order. I wasn't quite so hungry so I decided I would just get an appetizer while my friend ordered chicken tandoori. I told her I would just get the app for the moment. She then snapped at me and told us we need to have everything in all at once and that they can't order at separate times as to not overwhelm their cooks. I've obviously have eaten out numerous times throughout my life and I never once have been told to get my whole order in. What actually tends to happen is waitstaff offers to put in the appetizer while I make up my mind! It's a restaurant and restaurants get busy but if your cooks get overwhelmed, the solution isn't to tell your customers how to order. My friend actually enjoyed the chicken tandoori but Amber really made a great impression on me, so much so that I could care less about what I ate. read more

This is the place to go for Indian food. I have eaten here a number of times and the food has always been great. I am a particular fan of the saag paneer. It is a little pricey, and the service could be a little better (I seem to always have to stand around awkwardly by the front when I come in). I was really surprised to read these mixed reviews. I've been going to Pintu's for years, both at the current location and the previous location and I've never had a bad experience. However, I've only ever ordered take out and gone for the lunch buffet.. that being said, the food has never, ever disappointed. If you haven't tried it I would HIGHLY recommend the lunch buffet. I like having options and there are just enough without being overwhelming. All of the options are absolutely delicious and for 12.00/pp you can't go wrong. Some have commented that 12/pp for a buffet is a overpriced but given the quality of the food I beg to differ. This isn't the Golden Corral we're talking about here. The staff is always friendly. However, given that I've only ever gone for the lunch buffet where I serve myself I can't necessarily comment on the level of service. They do keep the buffet clean, full every time I've been there, refill water, and bring the check and clear dishes promptly. So as far as lunch service goes it's pretty much everything you would want and expect. As mentioned I can't speak to the quality of service or atmosphere during the dinner rush. However, the lunch buffet is the best of both worlds. When dining out I like to have a little bit of a few items rather than a huge portion of just one item and the lunch buffet does just this. The place was okay. I've had better Indian food. The service is so disorganized and slow though. I think we sat at our table for 15 minutes before our server came over. Recently I went here with my family to try out the lunch buffet. They had a small selection but the first round wasn't bad. They had the rice, salad, chicken tiki marsala, beef with peas, naan, veggies, rice pudding, paneer with peas in it. They also had the three dipping sauces. For some reason when they brought out a new batch of paneer, it tasted weird. (maybe it didn't have the chance to soak in the sauce maybe?) I likes the rice pudding a lot, it was really refreshing. The the Buffet was around $11-12 give and take. Normally my family and I order takeout off the regular menu and everything is to delicious. I just went there for lunch with 3 of my friends. We had horrible service. The food was okay. The lunch buffet was a good bargain, but not many selections to pick from and the food was not hot enough. The worst of all was our waitress was very rude. She would not give us menus as she made a reference the buffet was the cheaper way to go as we could not afford the other food without even giving us the chance to look at the menu first. She took forever to take our order, to bring us our drinks, and even longer to cash us out. I remained very polite despite all that had transpired and expressed to her we were on a tight schedule and we needed to leave ASAP, but she ignored my request and proceeded to serve the meal and drink to a customer who was sitting at the bar. After a while waiting for my check, I asked to speak to the manager and I explained to him how unpleasant our experience was. read more

This was my second time here. Admittedly the first time I was impressed by my service and food and always wanted to go back. Today I went in and sat at the bar by myself. I believe the owner was my bartender as he seemed very nice and knew a lot of the patrons. They must have been regulars because the only time he spoke to me was to take my order which took a while for him to even do that. I ordered the chicken tiki Marsala and there was barely any chicken in it. Just a lot of sauce. He asked if I wanted another soda to which I replied yes please. He started to pour it then started talking to other patrons again. 45 minutes later is when I finally had his attention to ask for my soda. I was given my check by another waiter and then the owner took my card, I finally had to put my coat on and ask him for my card and receipt 15 minutes after he took it. Also going out to eat by yourself can be lonely but a good bartender or server can make you feel like your not alone but here I felt less than. It was truly a shame. I felt like if you weren't a regular then you didn't matter. I would have thought that the service would have made me a regular instead I don't think I will ever go back. read more

I've only been here once so far, but to complaints on food, service, cleanliness, or price. Food: Both of us had the chicken tikka masala and naan bread. It's really all I get when I order Indian, I guess I don't eat it often enough to get tired of it -- my go to Indian dish. It was exactly how I expected it and wanted it to be. My boyfriend ate his entire meal, for me the portion was larger than I could finish in one sitting. Service: Went on a Tuesday night, it twas very quiet. We sat in the bar area at a table and the server was just attentive enough without being intrusive. At the end of the meal he gave me some fresh rice to go with my leftover chicken and masala sauce and bread to take home. I thought that was a really nice touch. Cleanliness: I am really picky about cleanliness. I used the restroom and thought it was one of the cleanest I had ever seen in a restaurant. When I used the restroom I got a glimpse inside the kitchen and it also looked very clean. Price: I've been to other places of similar quality in which the exact same meal was a few dollars less expensive, but to be fair those were in different markets with much higher volume and competition. read more

Ordered take out recently, the samosas, garlic naan, and chicken tikka masala, excuse the spelling . Lets just say it fed both my husband and I and was fantastic. The samaso was a fried ball with potatoe and veggies inside with a bit of a kick, was fantastic, the garlic naan was soo fresh and delish. We have been coming here for well over 10 years. The food is amazing!!!! Love love love the chicken korma and the pakoras. They have an okra vegetable dish that is so delicious too. We used to come for dinner, but that seems to take a little longer than we'd like. Also they're usually so busy at dinner that the service seems to fall a little flat. Food is always consistent and delicious. Every time you can find parking as the place has it's own lot, and always there is a seat with no wait... not that it is ever empty... it is just a large restaurant that has plenty of room. Food is always served sizzling hot, and waitstaff is prompt and polite. Portions are generous! Although I'll make suggestions on what to get, but to be frank, you can't go wrong. The seekh kebab is one of my favorites though. Second would be the lamb masala. Don't forget to order Naan. Their naan is excellent. If you like interesting beers, try the Pintu's porter as you have your food. It is locally brewed and it goes with the food excellently. read more
