I was so excited to attend, especially since it was my first time. It was promoted as a fun, community-based event -- but the reality was completely different once we arrived. As a family of eight, we were told there was an entrance fee of $10 per person for one day, $15 per person the next day, and around $20 on the last day. You're telling me I'd have to pay $80 just to walk in with my family to walk inside a public park with vendors? On top of that, there were tons of small businesses, vendors, and rides for the kids -- which is great -but you have to pay for that as well. Nowhere online did it clearly say there was an admission fee just to enter -- $10 the first day, $15 the next, and $20-$25 the final day. And keep in mind, this was held at a public park. They completely gated the entire area off, like literally fenced it off every inch with metal gates so no one could enter without paying -- it felt like a lockdown, not a festival. It's honestly frustrating that a city like Pflugerville, which is supposed to be so "community-oriented," would host an event that excludes people based on whether they can afford to pay just to walk into a public space. What if someone just wanted to support local small businesses or grab food from a food truck? If you have a family of 4, 5, 6, 7 -- you're dropping $50, $60, $70, $80 just to get in. The advertising was misleading, and the setup felt more about profit than community. I really hope future events are more transparent and actually represent the community spirit they claim to have. Also, where exactly do these funds go? Because ,I have no clue. They should be ashamed charging people to enter a public park -- especially when everyone inside is already spending money.

This German-themed extravaganza is packed to the brim with pflavors, pfun, and a whole lot of Pflugerville spirit! But before you spurt off to this pfestival with cash in hand, be aware that Deutschen Pfest no longer accepts cash for admission, so you best be prepared to buy your tickets online @ deutschenpfest.com. Or, for those of you with a penchant for traditional German garb, dust off your lederhosen and dirndls, because wearing these gets you in for free! No pfun pfest would be pfullfilling without prodigious draft beers. Pfriends, they got'em here. Oh, the glory of lifting a gigantic beer stein and taking a deep gulp of that golden, frothy goodness! Oh, and the bratwurst! These bratwursts are the real deal, grilled to perfection and bursting with meat juice. I guess you could say that the pflavor is pfabulous! This is the second year in a row to visit, and the layout of the pfestival this year was nearly a photocopy of last year's event. But hey, if it ain't broke, don't pfix it, right? All-in-all, Deutschen Pfest in Pfluger Park is an annual option for anyone looking to indulge in some German-themed pfun, beers, food, games, rides, vendors, and some pfantastic music. We showed up on a Saturday night and I was expecting it to be a lot busier. I assumed it would be crawling with rugrats and ankle biters but my friend and I were it. They had a Saturday night special where it was unlimited play with any type of blaster. There was about 1.5-2 hours left before they closed up and figured we could play a lot of games. Since it was the two of us it was mano y mano while we had a gamesmaster/ref/time keeper there. The space is littered with Darts and with the variety of blasters available you need to be cognizant of what 'caliber' you're using. A family ended of four ended up coming in so despite being outnumbered 2-1 we beat them due to superior tactics, coordinated teamwork and the fact that two of the them hadn't hit puberty yet. Hey, a win's a win!

I cannot recommend the art barn enough...the moms are talking about the adult retreat next!! It does such a great job of bringing local history to life in a way that's interesting, engaging, and enjoyable to experience. The exhibits were well done, thoughtfully curated, and give you a real appreciation for Williamson County's beginnings. The museum is welcoming, educational, and perfect for all ages...as a visitor I found it interesting to understand Williamson County's history. It's a great stop if you enjoy history or want to learn more about the community you're are visiting. Highly recommend checking it out and supporting this local museum. Important to note, entrance to the museum was free.

It's a shame that small town bigots and prudes are reviewing this small local museum poorly because of their views. As people who are newer to the area we were able to learn a lot of information about the past of the area. The man working there had extra stories for us and recommended other historical places in the community to visit. There is nothing that is sexual or outlandish in the exhibits, just true history, perfectly digestible for children. Many of the exhibits are interactive with additional sounds, videos, or items to lift and read under. We found it by exploring the square, but they do offer scheduled tours. Free to visit, but please consider donating or purchasing something that they have on sale in their gift shop to support them!

After you're done, there is a playground for the kids and a nice "western town" area for photos. There are more attractions like a little train for kids but it was shut down so I don't know if they're working on it or what. Don't get your expectations up for the sights on the train ride - it's not much. A soccer field and then it's just dry brush / trees. One of the most disappointing elements was that there was no info given on the ride (saw speakers so the conductor could have talked). According to their website, the train takes you through the hideout of Sam Bass (outlaw that died in Round Rock) so that would have been cool to hear about. Overall, kids love trains so this is a good way to entertain them.

If you are looking for a place to take the little ones for some outdoor water fun, this may be your place! This location is a short drive just past ATX to Leander. This Splash Pad was built in 2011 in a former quarry and is surrounded by natural rock, which provides a really unique, pretty atmosphere. There are fountains and sprinklers of all shapes and sizes as well as water cannons, a waterfall, a little slide, a mini climbing wall, a sandbox, and plenty of picnic tables, too. This location offers many foundations that kids can have a blast in. There is ample parking, and the admission is only $2.00! Note* As this location was a quarry, water shoes should be worn by both the littles' and their 'bigs'.

We love that there is an age max (1-6) because some of the other indoor playgrounds get over run by older kiddos and it just becomes too chaotic with a toddler. First experience here, the signage isn't great (yet) so there's a banner out front saying they're coming soon. You're in the right spot. The door will have their name on it. They work on a time slot, we did a walk in with no issue. Early in the morning, I imagine on weekends and/or later it might be better to book in advance online. A few quick logistical things- you are required to wear socks. We forgot and they gave my kiddo their first pair free. I bought a pair- no big deal. You can't bring outside food or drinks in. They seem to have a decent drink menu and snacks available. They have tons of tables with views of the play area. I was able to sit nearby and still do some work. Everything in here feels super toddler friendly, my girl felt confident enough to walk around and explore it all.

I went down with my two year old granddaughter the first time and almost ran out of real estate. After that she was on her own! Our granddaughter had a blast and we will definitely return. Oh yea make sure everyone is wearing socks as shoes ate not allowed in the play area.
