The fella and I like drinking wine and trying out new places…read more While we were in the area visiting his family, he said "....isn't there a winery around here?" To which I responded "Well, there HAS to be! And we're going!" A quick google search revealed Chateau Du Vieux Corbeau. It is just up the street from the Pioneer Playhouse and right next to a charming looking Inn. We got there around 5pm, and they are open until 6pm most days. There was only one woman working, and she was finishing up with a group already there, ringing up their purchases and chit chatting. A tasting, including all of the available wines costs only $2, and bottles are very reasonably priced. All of their wine is aged in stainless steel, as the winemaker has an oak allergy. It's an interesting thing to do. I personally love oakiness in my dry wines, so I kind of missed the flavor, but if you don't like it they have wines for you! And many of the wines don't have any added sugar. They weren't my most favorite wines, but I found several that I enjoyed! The woman running the tasting was wonderful! Friendly and very knowledgeable about the wine as well as the surrounding area, giving tips on things to do in Danville. If you are only intending on doing a tasting, bring cash since it is only $2 per person. But credit cards are accepted and a bottle is around $10. We left with 3 bottles between us! Should you want to have some wine while in Danville, I would certainly recommend paying Chateau du Vieux Corbeau!

I enjoyed the Whispering Hills RV Park and its location. There are full hook-up sites, a swimming…read morepool, a lake, basketball, bark park, bar, picnic tables, and a playground with giant blow ups for the kids to enjoy. There are plenty of places around the park to just sit and enjoy a book. Some sites offer fires, but ours didn't. There are two laundry locations, but they only have a few washers and dryers. That's not enough when the park has 230 sites. Expect to wait for one to open. You do have a picnic table, but it's time to repair them. They did add in their flyer to call if you have an issue with your picnic table. You mow and clean up your site after someone stays, so you should already see any table issues. When I get to a site I've already spent many hours driving and don't want to call with any issues. I want to set up, relax, and enjoy the amenities. The property is very clean and well managed. They have an employee take you to your site and assist you in pulling in. We would definitely stay here again!!

Very large campground. Over 200 sites. We had a nice 5 night stay as our base for bourbon trail and…read moreequine activities. Cool blow ups for the kids. One of the better bark parks of all the campsites we've visited - separate area for small and large dogs. There is some noise from the nearby interstate. And the newly opened shooting range starts popping around 08:00 am. Other than that it would depend on which site you're at. The only things we did not enjoy - MANY late arrivals every single night made for a lot of noise late in the evening. The park needs to place more signs for the 10 mph speed limit AND enforce it. There were too many cars rolling way too fast in the park. There are kids, people!! If I wasn't paying attention to one driver, she would have hit me - driving too fast and on her phone. Not the sites fault but a lot of rude campers - starting their big diesel rigs in the early morning and late night (not sure why, they didn't move anywhere). People walking through our site. And the morning before I left, the dude in the next campsite was sitting at our picnic table talking on his mobile when I walked out my door. And he didn't even acknowledge me
