I also put my name on a list for a Dodger shirt which was expected in Jun. I asked if I should drive to Kahala to add my name there to increase my odds and was told that it was not necessary. I left feeling cautiously optimistic as I was in the LOW SINGLE digits on the Dodger list. Days before my trip to Dodger stadium in July, I stopped by to check on the status of the Dodger shirt. To my disappointment, I was informed that they had already sold the shipment that they had received. Much to my consternation, they could not locate the list with my name on it for either shirt! I was then informed that I should have preordered. This information would have been useful when I visited the store in March instead of wasting my time adding my name to lists that no one seems to be tracking. To their credit, they did help me place an online order for my Dodger shirt which arrived WHILE I was at Dodger stadium. Too late. Spooner makes up the majority of my aloha shirt collection (e.g. Year of snake, Year of Dragon, Year of Tiger - both colors, Snoopy, Star Wars, Star Wars christmas, USAF, embroidered corporate logo shirts and one with embroidered school logo, tOSU, tOSU bucket hats, etc etc). At this point, I am not optimistic about the kikaida shirts. I'm over it. Very disappointed in the lackadaisical attitude.

This Crazy Shirts store in Ala Moana Center used to be on the 2nd floor but moved up to the 3rd. They have really cool designs and artwork in funky dyed colors. Some dyes used are volcanic rock, blue hawaiian, beer, coffee, grape & pineapple to name a few. The advantage of that is if you get any of those foods on you, the stain won't show! Most of their shirts are heavy weight cotton and will last a lifetime, so the premium price (avg $44-$50) is worth it.

We didn't really care for the designs and colors of our t-shirts and decided to see if we could exchange them. There are many locations of Crazy Shirts on the Island of O'ahu. There are several stores in Waikiki... And there are shops at Pearlridge Mall, Ko'Olina, and Kailua, as well as on the neighbor islands of Maui, Kauai, and the Big Island of Hawai'i. We chose the most convenient location for us - at Ala Moana Center, on the third level, by Neiman-Marcus. There's free parking at the mall and we had the pleasure of interacting with the nicest staff: Tina. She was so helpful and understanding. We showed her our gifts and pointed out the attached tags. She looked up the merchandise in their system and found out that our friend had indeed purchased the shirts from the Crazy Shirts Outlet at Ward Village. I knew exactly where that store was because I had been there in the past. They have great deals on discontinued prints, flawed items, and vintage stock. Instinctively, I had originally guessed that the gifts had been purchased at the outlet because Crazy Shirts produces a high quality product. The fabric is thicker and sturdier than the material used for other t-shirts. Crazy Shirts last for a long time. The designs are unique, local, and creative. The pricing reflects the superb product. Being practical, I felt that our friend would have gotten our gifts at a more reasonable price - like at the Crazy Shirts Outlet at Ward Centre. For example, we looked at a regularly priced t-shirt that was $51.00. I just cannot see myself wearing something like that. Sorry. I'm aware of the rent at the Mall and I have high esteem for this brand, but I prefer the prices at the outlet. It's been a while but it's still here…read more When a travel companion mentioned that he sought a particular T-shirt design, I immediately thought of this old-time business. We saw the listed address on Yelp and clicked the map to have it guide us here. When we arrived, the location differed from the listed address on the GPS so I called their number. A lady answered and told me that the company indeed moved but that she wasn't there being a Sunday. We agreed to meet Monday late morning or early afternoon. The GPS again led us to their old location so I called her again and she gave me directions. It's about a half mile from their original location. About six minutes later, we arrived a smaller parking lot and found a space there. The lady recognized me and greeted me with a smile. The layout is similar but the space is about a third of what it was at the original location. My friend shopped for shirts for his daughters and learned that one design was no longer being printed as the artist passed. Still, he was able to find shirts to bring home. In speaking with her, she is not there all the time so I highly recommend calling her to make an appointment or confirm when she is there. Thank you, Sophia, and very nice seeing you again.

We went to the store at Colburn St. but the signage was not in front on the building as the store did not appear to be there anymore. I called the number and the lady said they had moved to 944 Akepo Lane, but she is currently away from the store and would be back in 30 minutes. The store was about five minutes away located in a similar warehouse building with parking in front. In about 15 minutes, the owner drove up with more shirts in the vehicle and she opened up the store. This location appears smaller, but the inventory was a little organized. T-shirts were folded and stacked on the perimeter and long sleeved were on racks. They also had kids clothing and dresses. I asked if she had current and past Chinese zodiac design t-shirts in x-large. She went to the section and pulled out all the ones she had since they were old designs. Prices ranged from $4 each to 3 for $10 to 4 for $20. After Face Timing my friend, we decided on the shirts he wanted. They have photos spread out throughout the shop, making it a cool shopping/museum experience. The owners are very friendly and chatty. They're happy to explain their products and stories. There is a huge selection of different styles, nothing that day particularly caught my eye since the dresses weren't my style. But they're true to the old school Hawaiian design. They have 100% silk or 100% cotton. They have shirts, dresses, and even kid versions. We didn't purchase anything that day but we'll definitely come back when we're ready for a high-quality Hawaiian shirt.

Her tone was insulting. The transaction went through on the 3rd attempt. Today is extremely windy and that may have had an impact on the transaction. The behavior I encountered is indicative of an insecure individual who clearly pre judges. I believed you the first time when you reflect who you are.... I encourage others to bypass this business. The south shore market across the street from TJ Maxx (1170 Auahi St) has local stores with great selections. Also has a large free parking structure.

They carry a limited number of prints, but the same print will be used for men's shirts, women's dresses and infant clothes. They had a limited selection of Aloha bags in the most recent patterns. Vintage style Hawaiian prints, locally crafted jewelry and a limited amount of home decor are among the shop's offering. The clerks were friendly without being overbearing. Prices were are a premium, but worth it to get genuine Hawaiian products. The shop is located in Chinatown. As many times…read moreas I have window shopped at Salvage Public at South Shore Market throughout the years, it wasn't until I saw Hōkūpa'a, Nāpali, and another staff (I hope you can forgive me for not asking for your name) at their pop-up location in Hilo. The Merrie Monarch vibes must have kicked in and I had to finally pop that cherry. I initially went with my hula family and used that time to soak everything in. The next day I went back alone to purchase a few items I couldn't stop thinking about. Both Nāpali and Hōkūpa'a hyped me up during my visit and all items I tried on was sold on the spot. Countless hugs and mahalo were exchanged during my encounter with them. Again, I had to go in a third time just to mahalo your (business) ʻohana during my trip to Hilo! Just about a week later I figured I would "window shop" again during my lunch break at South Shore Market and I was able to catch up with Hōkūpa'a. Then after some time of being educated about the items at the store I was sold again - resulting in me purchasing even more items than I did in Hilo! More hugs and mahalo were shared that day. I can't thank Nāpali a me Hōkūpa'a and the rest of the Salvage Public ʻohana enough for your continued legendary service every time I visit.
