My fiance and I stopped in a couple weekends ago. First of all, the gentleman who served us was just an absolute pleasure. You could tell her was truly proud of what he served. The food was good! Since it was our first time we got a lot of stuff and shared it all - chili, french fries, grilled cheese, hot dog, and ice cream (wow - putting that in writing makes me feel very ashamed!). The fries were great. They have a unique seasoning that's very good. The grilled cheese was the bomb. We got the TED cheese (I think that's what it's called). Didn't care for the mustard on the hot dog - but the dog itself was great and the pretzel bun it was on was even better! The chili was different but good. Ice cream was good too! So many flavors to choose from. Great place for ice cream on 6th st. For the price you get a lot of soft served ice cream in a cup, cake cone or waffle cone. I had the cake cone for 2.49 which was more ice cream than I was expecting. Make sure you get lots of napkin as it melts fast. read more

Meh! On the strength of the recent BuzzFeed article extolling the soft serve ice cream at this place as being one of the best in the country we decided to sample it. The situation couldn't have been any more conducive to a positive review as we just had left a sweltering Reds game. We each ordered the fudge brownie flavor mixed in with the standard vanilla soft serve base. It was wholly unremarkable. The ice cream tasted more like ice milk and did not have good "mouth feel". There was no creaminess to it. The fudge brownie flavor that was mixed in was not recognizable. This soft serve is wholly overrated and does not deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as the iconic Putz's which was also reviewed by BuzzFeed. read more

5 stars because my burger was delicious and they delivered to my door. nice change from pizza/pasta. no complaints, will be ordering again. i really don't know what they did to the burger but it was the best burger i have tasted in a long time. I got it with their TED cheese and bacon. If you don't like blue cheese (i don't), don't be put off, the TED cheese tastes more like a creamy cheddar. read more

Great food, fresh, tasty, very interesting menu, charming location, great prices, and impeccable service. I've had both breakfast and lunch here. Recently tried the new "Best Exotic Hotel" sandwich; the curry spices and raisins absolutely make it! I love that the menu is fresh, local, and frequently updated. Have yet to try a hot dog or some of the famous soft serve, but will certainly be back to do so. read more

Ordered a burger medium and fries, I waited 20 min for a well done patty burger, burnt buns and Bland in flavor. Luckily the fries were seasoned nicely and were quite tasty. I won't be visiting this establishment again although it was quite thrifty. read more

A definite 5 for the venue type. Walk up with shaded and sunny seating overlooking a vibrantly active tree lined promenade occupied by leisurely folks enjoying the environment and lined with great Italianate architecture. The menu is creative and full of vegan choices as well as locally sourced twists on typical american and med. foods. The chili is exceptional, and the home made Ketchup is fresh out of the garden like mother's favorite recipe and a far cry from a factory floor product, thankfully. The owner and staff are courteous and helpful, showing pride in the unique offerings of this little seasonal gem. They will be happy to cook your order any way you like it. The vegan burger is memorable and delicious. I keep going back to try new things and they keep surprising and delighting. A great value, awesome location, pup friendly, and good folks. Love getting ice cream there after the Bazaar! It's SO GOOD. I only took a star off because at our experience yesterday they were really busy, and it seemed like the guy running the window was stressed. Understandable. Been there plenty of times for the ice cream, didn't realize they had sandwiches. The best thing I couldn't believe was a goetta chili dog. Possibly the best thing in Covington.. What a nice surprise! I found this gem while surfing for Covington restaurants online, and it was delightful. The food was delicious. We didn't know you ordered your food at an outside window. The owner is very friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable. I am gluten-free and there were many options. My vegan friend had a delicious dinner as did our husbands who don't have any eating restrictions. We ate in a quaint room. I like that they are environmentally friendly. My husband and I ate here on our way out of town. We were looking for a good breakfast spot, and liked what we saw on the Pipers Cafe online menu. When we pulled up in front of the cafe, it was raining, and we couldn't tell if there was indoor seating or not (there is!), but either way we decided to give it a try! The gentleman working was nice as could be, and offered menu suggestions for his favorite items. I ordered the breakfast biscuit sandwich with chicken sausage, egg and gouda on their homemade honey oregano biscuit, and also ordered one more biscuit on the side to try their homemade apple butter and strawberry mango jam! DELICIOUS. My only regret was not taking his suggestion to have my sandwich on something other than the biscuit - he suggested sourdough, which I think I would have enjoyed more. The biscuit ended up being a bit too much "bread" for sandwich purposes, but I absolutely loved the biscuit with the apple butter and jam! The chicken sausage was very tasty too. My husband got the Hamelin burger, and seriously I blinked and it was gone! He loved it so much and ate it so fast! The indoor seating area was very quaint and cozy. When we come back to town to visit with family, we will definitely be back! read more

I just came into Covington for a quick trip and was hungry so I decided to grab a quick bite at a local restaurant here. I walked over Piper's and I ordered the Scrambler which was pretty good. I got it with bacon and white cheese and it filled me up quite nicely but the hash browns that went with it were a bit raw. After I finished my meal, I got some ice cream to go and I ordered green tea ice cream. The green tea ice cream was pretty good and I would definitely come here again for breakfast or lunch. read more

We only had ice cream but they have a soft serve ice cream that is way better then that stuff at most places. It's rich creamy goodness. They also have like 100 flavored. A nice courteous staff as well. read more

Not "bad". Nice little place with a shady tree or two outside. I tried the two "BEEF" hot dogs. (I asked if they were beef before ordering). It took about 15 (Fifteen) minutes to get the two hot dogs. They were delivered to me outside. They looked pretty....but the bread was disappointing....not a hot dog bun but a bread with a slit/score which had the dogs floating on top of the buns and hard to eat. OK.....How did they taste? A. They were not HOT. They were "warm" and not very tasty. I find it hard to believe they are beef. If they are they sure tasted like a very, very cheap or low priced variety. I could NOT eat two hot dogs although I was very hungry. They tasted awful. Cigarette smoking girls...friends of the fry cook were hanging out and smoking in the picnic area.....The ICE CREAM looks good! Hot Dogs? Absolutely never again. Hamburger? I will definitely be back to Piper's! I decided to take my girls on a little excursion today to visit Mainstrasse and see the clock tower. We discovered Piper's as we were walking and decided to get a bite to eat. The man taking my order was super nice and helped us in any way he could to make sure my girls and I were happy. The food was awesome! My oldest daughter (7) had a cheeseburger cooked to her liking and ate every bit of it, except for the bit of bread she saved for the birds :) I had a thai chicken wrap which was also delicious with very fresh and tasty ingredients. my littlest (3) ate some of my chicken, the "rat tail" fries, and the yummy fruit that came with our sandwiches. We also shared a strawberry and banana "glacier" which definitely hits the spot on a hot afternoon! The three of us ate a really nice lunch outside for about $20. i would love to try more of their frozen treats and get a burger for myself next time. if you are in the area at all you should definitely stop by and have a taste, it is worth it! read more
