My last trip to NJ lead me to be of my favorite spots down the shore. The menu at Pirate's Den strikes a good balance between seafood staples and classic American bar food. Whether you're in the mood for a fresh lobster roll, a hearty crab cake sandwich, or a simple burger, there's something for everyone. The staff at Pirate's Den are friendly and attentive. While it can get busy, especially during peak summer months, the service remains efficient and the staff seem genuinely happy to accommodate guests. The prices are reasonable for a shore-town restaurant, especially considering the quality of the food and the location. You can enjoy a satisfying meal without breaking the bank, making it a great option for casual dining in Brigantine. Pirate's Den is a solid choice for anyone looking for a relaxed meal with great seafood in Brigantine. While it's not trying to be anything fancy, it delivers on flavor, hospitality, and a fun atmosphere. Whether you're visiting the beach or a local, it's worth stopping by for a casual bite.

A pregnant woman's nightmare, Beware!!! Cold sweats and throwing up for days..... The Curse of Pirates Den, Brigantine At Pirates Den in Brigantine, we dared to dine, And what we found should never meet a spine. A turkey foul, a raw chicken snare, A pregnant girl trapped in culinary despair. Her brother and I, the diarrhea twins, Cursed by the kitchen's unholy sins. They served her raw meat, eyes wide with fear, She heaved in the bushes, a rock her veneer. The walls would shiver, the boardwalk weep, If only these horrors weren't ours to keep. Brigantine's Pirates Den, a legend of shame, Where every meal's a grotesque game. Oh, Pirates Den, take note--this tale we tell, Of nausea, disgust, and a rock-bound farewell. No plate, no dish, no chef survives, Your food's a terror that haunts our lives.

Great breakfast! We went for breakfast this morning and had some pancakes with apples, french toast bananas foster and eggs Benedict over croissants. Everything was delicious and service was fast and friendly. But get there early because when we left at 10:00 there were filks waiting to get a table.

We've been staying in Brigantine for about 8 years now and we finally tried the Pirate's Den! Apparently they're under new ownership - the restaurant is so cute on the inside, and the food was excellent! Service was also wonderful. We will be back to try lunch and dinner, too! **Highly recommend the pancakes! (ours were Lemon Ricotta)

This is a great place to eat. Friendly faces - got sat quickly and had a drink on the table quickly. Waitress could not have been more friendly! Food came quick and was delicious. A little pricey, but it's a tourist destination. My only complaint is the waitress never came back after she dropped the food. I had to flag someone down for drink refills. Other than that, an overall pleasurable experience. If you're in Brigantine, check them out.

A great breakfast spot where are you can sit outside and enjoy the ocean breezes and really appreciate the surroundings! Our group enjoyed the vegetable eggs Benedict, the seawall scramble and the western omelette today. Prices are good and the food quality is excellent. I would recommend getting here before 10 on weekdays and 9 on weekends, as the patio tends to fill up quickly. They serve lunch and dinner too!

Would give 5 stars but they should inform customers it's Tues Senior day when taking their order.

Got recommended this place and it did NOT disappoint! Service was excellent, Carrie was perfect! I like the spot and how it's right next to the ocean. The coffee was great, I got the churro pancakes a side of bacon. There was a good amount of bacon and it was crispy, the pancakes had a lottt of cinnamon, next time i would go for something simpler. Portion size was perfect, definitely bang for your buck. The bathroom was very nice and clean as well.

Great breakfast experience with Lori as our waitress. Mike provided excellent service keeping us with fresh coffee & water refills. The entire staff was delightfully friendly & welcoming! Our food was fresh and delivered quickly. We enjoyed the meat omelette which was loaded and left our Mike with plenty to take home. Herlyn loved her chipped beef and said it was then"best" she's had! It was delicious, I must say as it was not thick & heavy and quite flavorful. My breakfast of boiled eggs, canadian bacon(3 pieces of juiciness) & perfectly cooked potatoes was very good. Since it is pumpkin season, I had to give their pumpkin pancake a try. Although tasty, I do prefer a more fluffier lighter pancake though. We will enjoy the Pirates Den again for sure!

What a great find, literally at the end of the road. We can always count on this place for a solid nourishing home made breakfast. The specials are often quite creative. The homefries are shredded just like I like! Service is always pleasant. This is a true hidden gem.

This is my go-to place for breakfast in Brigantine. I always get the Stuffed French Toast with a side of bacon. OK , maybe I'm a bit boring because I always get the same thing...but I really love that French Toast! I do always end up trying what other people in my party are having and everything is always great. Although I usually go for breakfast, I have also had dinner there and it was also very good. Staff is very friendly and attentive to me when I visit. Brigantine is a very family oriented town and they are the people who frequent the Pirates Den. I have also noticed a lot of regulars who are probably locals since there aren't that many restaurants in the area. It does get busy during summer so expect a wait especially at dinner time. Their decor is beachy, as expected and gives a nice vibe to their dining rooms. Looking forward to my next visit!

Had a great breakfast and lunch here at the north end of Brigantine Island. This place has been a mainstay on the island for decades. Service was great. The remodeled interior has a modern feel and there was lovely seating around the outside with beautiful flowering plants. Food is your standard diner fair. A great place to grab a quick bite to eat!

Best Hamburger and more! My family and I have been coming to Brigantine for 30 years and we always come for breakfast at the Pirates Den. We have had a few dinners as well and it is always great and very consistent. Recently, my wife and I wanted a burger with fries. We both had the bacon avocado burger with fries. I also started with their homemade French Onion soup. The soup was delicious and was not salty. It reminded me of when I had it in Paris. As for the burgers, I would stack it up against some of the top steak house burgers. They were delicious and quite big. It tasted like a mix of sirloin and brisket. Overall, they have a great menu and we have tried many items but this is the first for a burger but not the last.

Across the street from the beach!

We have been to it plenty of times in our over 30 years of visiting AC and we have never been disappointed. The ambiance is cosy with nautical themed items decorating the walls. They have limited seating in the small establishment, with the best option being sitting at the counter at the window to people watch while enjoying your seafood items. We are always greeted by pleasant staff. They have daily specials and feature a seafood case filled with a variety of fresh seafood items that you can literally pick and they will prepare in store or you can choose to purchase to go. Our go to is the flounder and fish platter, which comes with house made slaw and fries, and either a side of fried clams or oysters. The platter also comes with a canned soda, which you get to pick the flavor choice from the beverage case. We always enjoy our food in store and are always luck enough to grab a few seats. The flounder and shrimp platter was fresh and crispy, with a light coating that did not take away from the delicate taste of the fish and shrimp. The slaw was fresh and an ok side. The fries were crispy and nothing was greasy. The oysters were fried well and when bitten, popped with a nice, fresh taste. And don't worry my MD folks, they have Old Bay to dust your food (which I really appreciate!). We suggest coming as soon as they open or call your order in ahead of time to avoid the long line that forms. All in all, our go to seafood spot when visiting AC.

I opted for outdoor seating on a perfect late evening, and it set the tone beautifully. There's something special about this spot - it sits away from the boardwalk's noise and chaos, offering a much more relaxed, genuine dining experience. I tend to gravitate toward the same order here, and for good reason. The crab cakes are outstanding - generous with the crab meat, full of flavor, and absolutely worth the price. I paired them with a Caesar salad, a solid combination. I also ordered the fried shrimp platter - the batter was spot-on, the portion was generous enough that we couldn't finish it, and, impressively, it held up well into the next morning. That's always a good sign. Don't skip the jar drinks. I went with the cucumber basil, and it was wonderfully refreshing - the kind of drink that just fits the vibe of the place perfectly. The service was prompt and on point. If you're in Atlantic City and looking for a break from the loud, touristy strip, Back Bay Ale House is where you want to be. We both ordered the steak specials. One with cucumber salad the other with cole slaw. Although the steak was cooked to temperature it was not of good quality. It was hard to cut because there was so much marbled fat between the meat. Only the one steak was fatty the other was fine. The sides left little to be desired. The cucumber salad was soggy and had a bitter taste. The cole slaw had a sour taste and was inedible. Based on the other reviews, I guess this was just an off night. I just thought management would like to know about our experience. Reading the positive reviews was the reason we decided to dine here.

That ended up being one of the best dining decisions I've made in a very long time. Council Oak Steaks & Seafood absolutely exceeded my expectations from start to finish. Making reservations online was quick and easy, which was already a great start for a same-day dinner plan. The restaurant itself is stunning upscale, elegant, and welcoming without feeling stuffy. But what really stood out was the service we received. Every staff member we encountered was attentive, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. Their recommendations were spot on all night. I ordered the branzino and honestly... it was the BEST I've ever had. The flavors were unbelievable and every bite was perfection. They also brought out warm, soft buns lightly sprinkled with salt alongside perfectly spreadable butter (which deserves appreciation because nobody enjoys rock-hard butter at a nice restaurant). We also ordered the colossal crab meat appetizer, French onion soup, and steak cooked exactly to order. Everything was outstanding. Not a single miss. And because we clearly had zero self-control by this point, we finished with key lime pie topped with fresh berries and espresso. One detail I really appreciated was how coordinated the staff was. They intentionally timed the dessert and espresso to arrive together at the table, which made the experience feel polished and thoughtful. From the food to the service to the atmosphere, this place delivered on every level. Safe to say I found my new Atlantic City steakhouse.

The variety is great and everything we tried tasted fresh and well made. Nothing felt like it had been sitting too long and the staff was constantly maintaining the stations. The service really stood out. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and very attentive without being overbearing. The staff working the buffet line were also all really nice and genuinely seemed happy to be there which makes such a difference. Food wise there were a lot of standouts. The chargrilled steak had a really nice flavor and the prime rib was super tender and juicy. The pastas were cooked perfectly and the sauces were light, bright, and flavorful instead of heavy. The mac and cheese is an absolute must. They use big shell noodles with a creamy cheese sauce and toasted breadcrumbs on top which gives it great texture. The collard greens were surprisingly one of our favorite things and we went back for seconds. So much flavor. The spiced shrimp is a hidden gem and definitely something we grabbed multiple times. The pizza was also surprisingly good. We tried the mushroom and spinach and it honestly tasted like something you would get from a really solid pizza spot not a buffet. The only thing I would say is the chicken parm is hit or miss depending on how fresh it is. If it has been sitting it can get a little soggy so I would try to grab it when a fresh tray comes out. Pro tip leave room for dessert. The dessert section is incredible. The gelato was rich and creamy especially the chocolate. The croissant cinnamon roll hybrid was flaky on the outside with a soft gooey center and the cookies and cream cheesecake was rich without being too heavy. I also really liked how the seating is set up. You can sit on either side of the buffet and choose between booths or tables which makes it feel a little less chaotic. This is definitely a spot we will keep coming back to when we are at Borgata.
