I figured a fuse was blown since both lights rarely go out together. I went to a competitor that was close to my house to get the right fuses. The employees couldn't answer any questions and weren't really helpful. When I figured out the fuse wasn't the issue, I then went after new bulbs. I had the manual, I can read, I can follow instructions, but I could not get the headlight bulbs out. I drove to Napa, told the guy I needed bulbs but couldn't get them out. The employee found my bulbs and then came outside and helped me remove the bulbs. Whoever changed them last time placed them in slightly off so the clip holding the bulb assembly in place was stuck. I never would have been able to get them out and the Napa employee was able to do it after about 10 minutes of trying. He replaced the bulbs, the headlights worked, and I went on my merry way. I was so impressed by how nice and helpful the employee was that I spoke to his manager a few days later to relay the great service I received.

Anyways, the sales associate helped me pick out the wipers based on the make of my car. He showed me several options that didn't break the bank, and he helped me install my windshield wipers. He was super helpful and even showed me how to install the wipers myself. This visit saved me the hassle of taking my car to get windshield wipers at a mechanic, and it also gave me a quick lesson on how to install wipers.

I knew it was the carburetor and after a little research I found this place. The Yelp reviews sounded good and convinced me that if I wanted to keep my original carburetor, then this is where I needed to go to get it refurbished and rebuilt. Most people mail their carburetor to them and after it's done this place mails it back. I decided to drive it to them and at the same time I could visit my daughter and eat some great pizza (good plan). I dropped my Rochester Quadrajet off on a Thursday afternoon and Peter the employee told me it should be finished in approximately 7-10 business days. A week and a half later I was called by their office stating my carburetor was finished and ready to be picked up. I picked it up exactly 2 weeks after I had dropped it off. I was amazed at the transformation - it looked brand new! I paid them ($300.95 - including tax), and the next day installed it. Everything went back into place nicely and they give me a free gasket. I did have to purchase a vacuum gauge ($28) to make the proper fuel adjustment for the optimum vacuum - which was no big deal. The 2nd needed the top polished to match the 1st and I did not trust the previous rebuilds. As it turned out the 2nd had a cracked base. National found the parts and polished the top to match the first. The 1st Carter was actually "non salvageable" not worth the effort, a real mess. National took care of it. They sent me the defective parts including the floats. On my request, they met both function and asthetic requirements needed for auction. My next best option would cost over three times what I paid national. Exceptional.
