My friend took me here to celebrate my birthday and we went on a Sunday but didn't know they only mostly breakfast items on menu so just ended up getting a turkey sandwich. We also shared an appetizer which was the egg rolls and we enjoyed it! My friend got the egg Benedict but said it wasn't hot enough temperature wise as if it was just sitting there for a long time. My Turkey sandwich was ok. It was nice of them to give me a creme brûlée for my bday which was one of my favorite desserts! Maybe next time visit we will come another day for dinner to get a different menu but overall good spot in mount dora!

Light and cheerful atmosphere with plenty of room in comfortable chairs - makes it conducive to sharing the weeks news with friends . Service was quick despite the mt Dora special event! And the food is perfect at an attractive price

Great day to sit outside have a cool drink, listen to music and have an appetizer. I had the calamari which is lightly breaded along with peppers and string beans that are lightly deep fried. I really enjoy the slightly breaded peppers and string beans. They are delicious. I actually would like to see those by themselves as an appetizer minus the calamari. Just a thought if you're in Mount Dora, wanna listen to some decent music, good Service and it's not too hot outside. Sitting outside is always amazing weather permitting.

First time to this restaurant and I was very pleased. The food was very good. I ordered the blackened tuna. It was delicious. My only complaint was wish there was a bit more tuna, but what that was great. The service fantastic. The ambiance was very nice with a water view of the yacht club. They also had outdoor seating.

Highly recommend that you make a reservation since it is a very popular place. We visited for lunch and found the place to be modern and festive. We sat inside but by a window so we had a good view of the lake. We waited about 40 minutes for our lunch. My partner's food was hot but mine was cold. I ordered the steak taco special - an ok dish but I wouldn't get it again as the steak was chewy and had extra fat. Our server was a pleasant young woman. She was super busy with other tables and didn't get around to re-fill drinks while we had our lunch. Bathrooms are down a set of stairs but handicap options were listed as being available if requested.

This is my first time here. Reservations are a must. This place fills up fast...for a reason. They open up for dinner at 5. 4:30 the line starts. We decided to sit outside since it's Florida. The weather was perfect. The dress code is casual...but I like to dress up just a bit since the prices are a bit higher than normal. You have a view of the lake which at sunset was pretty. We actually were given the best table to view the sunset. The service was more than perfect. We ordered appetizers, spring rolls and shrimp fries. For an entree I ordered Bison ribs. I love how they don't pressure you and rush you. That's what you pay for. Great place, great food, and great service.

Everything was really good. We thought portions were a little small for a value but everything tasted yummy!

Had a wonderful lunch with family served by the gracious staff, especially Kaley! She didn't hover but was always there when we needed her. Her lunch, drink AND dessert suggestions all hit the spot. The service and the food and the ambience made for a wonderful lunch!

Molly and Zach are the best bartenders! Great food, drinks, and sunset. Highly recommend making it for happy hour. Beautiful view of the lake.

Lunch today was an absolute treat and I'm glad I celebrated my first Arts Festival with lunch at Pisces Rising. The line to get in before opening (standing outside on a cold Saturday afternoon, btw) was considerable. Given that, I was surprised how quickly the lovely Mark took my order - he was an absolute delight (quick, proficient, friendly). Originally, I wanted the wedge and steak plate, but - given the Festival - the menu seemed a little different. Hence, also, the plastic cups in use today. So, I went all in on the skirt steak over yellow rice and asparagus. The steak and asparagus were delicious - the rice? A bit dry, but edible. What am I saying? I cleaned that plate - happily. My sweet tea was also a little "weak" but I genuinely look forward to dining here again. Word is the shrimp and grits and Cuban Spring Rolls are a must. On a final note, it's obvious this waterfront restaurant is very popular...and, therefore, busy. I appreciated watching the Pisces team rising to the occasion. The same man who held the door open for me upon entry I later noticed helping my server deliver orders tableside. One of the ladies out in the bar area dashed inside to help when she saw the line of patrons waiting to seated. This is a team that pulls TOGETHER. And that, in and of itself, is something you like to see at any restaurant. Cheers!

3.5 Stars. My friend had eaten lunch here and loved it, so she was excited to be able to get us reservations over the holidays for dinner. We arrived before our reservations, and decided to have a drink at the bar. We did not know there was an outside bar, so we sat the inside bar. Big mistake. The male bartender was clearly in over his head serving customers and the waitstaff. When he finally arrived to us, it didn't take him long to start work on our drinks. Poor guy must have been hungry though because he put the cherry in my drink, then popped a few in his mouth; I watched him eat garnishes the entire time we sat there. The worst part, however, was that he used his bare fingers to put the large ice cube in my glass. Insert vomit emoji here. I consoled myself that the booze around it would kill any germs. We did visit the outside bar after this, and though the female bartender had a full bar, she appeared very efficient. There was zero ambiance inside the restaurant, so next time I would request an outside table. But fortunately, our experience got much better once we were sat at our table. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. We shared an order of focaccia bread to snack on, which was excellent. I started with their soup of the day, which was chili, and though I had to send it back because it wasn't hot enough, it was really good. For my meal I went with the seafood cobb salad, which was quite tasty, and had a lot of different things included on it, which is how I love my salads. My friend's fresh catch of the day was $40 - she enjoyed it, but that seems steep to me. I think if I try this place again it will be sitting outside, at lunchtime, and staying far away from the inside bartender.

Nice restaurant! Unfortunately, it was raining hard and overcast, so I was not able to see the lakeside view that everybody talks about. I totally can see the potential for this place. The menu seem to be diverse with a couple seafood options as well as the brisket biscuit, which is what I ordered. It had just the right amount of barbecue sauce on there and what tasted like a homemade cheese sauce. The Cuban eggrolls were a really nice and savory treat. I thought the old fashion drink was just OK however, it was a little busy and it definitely packed a punch. This is a spot that I will check out on Sundays for brunch, which was suggested to me.

A quaint little town northwest of Orlando…read more There's shopping, some nice little restaurants, and a big ol' lake that you can rent a catboat on and drive it around. That's what we did that morning. Ambiance was great. It felt like each little dining area was a different room in a big, semi-haunted mansion. Eclectic books and paintings and mirrors and other baubles adorned much of the walls, making for plenty of looking around time during you meal. Very fun. Service was really good. The pacing of the meal was great, and our server was very friendly. We were always with drink, and she knew the menu backwards and forwards, even the special dishes of the night. As for the food, we went whole hog with two apps, two mains, and a dessert to share. Out of everything we ordered, only one of them remains on the current menu, which is a great sign. I love a rotating, seasonal menu. It shows effort, and it definitely encourages return patronage. We started with the Ciabatta Board (toasted ciabatta, house butter made with sun dried tomato, roasted red pepper, parmesan, garlic, chive). This was nice. It was very sun dried tomato, so if you don't like them, don't get this. But very soft, toasty bread made this very lovely. We also got an escargot app which was very creamy and soup-like. The snails were complimented well by the spinach. And the whole thing came with a nice little breadstick. I saved some of the bread from the board for some sopping. Pro move. For our mains, we got a miso butter New York strip and some sort of Asian themed duck. For both mains, the proteins were cooked very very well, and the portion sizes were a good size compared to what I was expecting. Both sets of taters were good. The mash was very smooth and creamy, the roasted baby potatoes were cooked all the way through and were nice and naturally buttery. Both were served with a seasonal veg mix that was pretty ok. It rounded out the plate, but it won't change your world or anything. We finished off with one of the best slices of cheesecake I've ever had. Incredibly smooth with the perfect cheesecake density, the perfect amount of chocolate chips inside, and a nice little crust that added that little bit of texture that is needed from the crust. Overall, quite a meal! To survive in a small town with these prices and those quality ingredientes and that unique of a menu design is very impressive. I will certainly be back.

Cons: Not a single con. A great little visit. Tips: The menu has completely changed since we went, which is good, so I can't recommend any specific dishes. But the ones I see on the menu now look absolutely banging.

Our table shared the Asian Seared Ahi Tuna - Sesame crusted grade A tuna seared rare, sliced over seaweed salad with wasabi, pickled ginger garlic teriyaki glaze & Chinese white sauce which was great. I had to try the Crispy BBQ Pork Belly - Slow roasted sweet & spicy pork belly glazed with house BBQ sauce over sautéed red onion with scallion & julienne pickled ginger, which was a little different than expected. It was more dry and less fatty for an appetizer like this and as unexpected as it was, I actually liked it that way. I also mananged a chicken dumpling soup that was on special. Wow! I could have made a meal out of this one. Heavy, almost like a chowder. I split the main with someone else at the table. We turned the special blackened mahi mahi and the 16oz Boneless Prime Ribeye - Tender, rich & juicy with an extremely smooth texture. Removed from the bone for easy carving, this robust flavored steak eats like butter, into a surf and turf for the both of us. The sides were shared as well. Steamed Broccoli Florets, Smashed Yukon Gold Potatoes, Sweet Potato Fries Drizzled with Honey, and Bacon Roasted Brussels Sprouts. All of which were amazing. It was a lot of food. Took about half home and I believe it was actually great value for the price. For a place in a strip mall that looks like nothing much from the outside, I really enjoyed the complete experience here. Sometimes places that are a little further out of the way end up with higher ratings based on their surroundings. Here, I believe that is not the case and this is a fair rating across the board.

I had an extra dirty martini that I didn't get a pic of but it was probably one of the best, if not the best one I've ever had-and I've had a lot at a lot of places. It came with the big blue cheese stuffed olives and it was perfection. The spinach and artichoke dip is hands down the best around. The pita chips are fried and perfectly crunchy, and the dip is so creamy and delicious. We ran out of chips but kept the dip to put with our meal and that was absolutely the right decision lol. The steak was cooked perfectly, the au gratin broccoli was fantastic as well. If you are looking for a good date night, check this place out. It definitely has a good moody romantic feel. Asked for a water immediately, and set my things down before going to the restroom... which was clean, easy to find, and well stocked, so zero issues there! Hehehe..... When I returned, I had a water and the bar menu as well as the lunch menu waiting for me. I ended up getting the Crooked Can/Frog and Monkey collaboration IPA, which was lovely. I ordered the turkey and brie sandwich, because reading it on the menu outside was what had originally drawn me into the restaurant, and a cup of the French Onion soup rather than getting the fries that came with. The soup was up first, and it was delightful- nice, hardy chunks of onion without being too big/sliding off my spoon, a well developed broth, and a fantastic amount of cheese. The sandwich was lovely, great slices of turkey and decently sized pieces of brie and apple to go along with it. Unfortunately, when I went to get the second half of my sandwich, I noticed what looked like a dark beard hair on it.... as I was dining alone, and my long hair was tied up, definitely not mine. I called over my server, and I pointed it out to her... she asked if I wanted to have a new sammie or get it taken off the bill. I asked if I could pay for the soup, since I had finished it, but not the sammie and she absolutely agreed to that. I wrapped up my meal and left to keep going on my day. Everywhere has issues occasionally, but this was handled well, so I will mention it, and I do knock off a star for this visit, but I am still willing to try again if I am in the area.
