View is 5 star food service is 1/2 star staff would bring wrong item and argue. DO NOT COME HERE FOR FOOD OR APPETIZERS. Ordered a ribeye steak and a side of rice and beans only. They bring me a boiled ribeye covered in cheese. Avoid avoid avoid way better food elsewhere

We wanted the carne con quacamole and they let us know that they didn't have the carne seca so they just gave us the guacamole with tomatoes, onions and cilantro. We waiting prob 20 minutes for our order. The enchiladas were SOUR definitely not a fan, we did not get a check up on how we're doing as well. I recommend just coming here for drinks and the view. Nothing else. We asked for a bottled water and I guess they forgot. Staff was friendly but I seen multiple families leave due to the amount of servers there was.

So I was skeptical because of the reviews , but we wanted to have the view. We ordered the cream de camarones 8.5/10 , Tacos Taurinos 7/10 , filete de res al tequila 7/10. Like everyone else has mentioned, you pay for the view & depending on where you sit , you can't really admire it . The service wasn't bad , they aren't extremely attentive , but service was fast and efficient .

Great place to enjoy family time! It's a little pricey but overall the views are Amazing! The food was good and portions were good too. Service was good. Friendly staff!

Been here for 1 hour. All, I got was my drink (soda) and an appetizer (salmon with corn). The service is beyond slow. The appetizer was not good at all, matter of fact...it was nasty. The bread and salsa was a weird combination to eat while waiting over an hour for your food. AVOID THIS PLACE!

If you are looking for a nice restaurant with a beautiful view and delicious food, this is it right here. Located right in the center of Guadalajara. The service we received excellent. We came here to celebrate my 45th birthday and they didn't disappoint. They also have a little bar on the side.

Food is disgusting only get drinks for the views. They need better cooks. I ordered the ciopinno disgusting taste this not how it's made they also don't wash the seafood well.

After looking at this restaurant on yelp, I just had to try it. The restaurant is on the 7th floor of the double tree hotel, which is the hotel that we were staying at. We had a late dinner there and it was so windy, but we were starving, thirsty (wink wink) and wanted to enjoy our first night in Guadalajara. Thankfully the food was amazing, we had the taurino taco dish and another dish that I can't remember what it was called. We also had two drinks and a cheesecake. The dishes start art about $20 US dollars, so the price was a bit high, but the views at night are stunning and totally worth it! The staff were also very attentive and checked on us constantly.

I really enjoyed this restaurant and stopped off here a few times. I love the modern architecture with the different angles and the nice views of the city. The drinks and food were good as well. The steak was tender and excellent.

The view was spectacular! I called ahead and asked for a table located near the view of the cathedral & they kindly accommodated. The drinks were delicious and affordable. The waiter's were kind & willing to offer us many recommendations on what to order. Definitely recommend!

I have read the reviews and I see a lot of negative things. I didn't have a bad experience. I went during the week so it was not too busy. The drinks were delicious. I only got the avocado and chips and tacos Al gobernador and they were pretty tasty. I would like to come back and have something different. The view is amazing

The place is is wall to wall tables and they were all filled when I went. They have table clothes (not fancy, but nice) and fried torillas (like chips, except full rounds) on the table with three kinds of salsa. The service was good and the food came out lightening fast. I am a vegan and I went because Yelp says that it is vegan friendly.... which is hard to find in Guadalajara. I only saw one vegan option, which were potato enchiladas. They were good, but they did not blow me away.

We had cafe de olla and some dishes that made for an amazing brunch. We ordered a plate of Arrachera with tortillas and Bistec Encebollado (steak with onions) with beans. On the same plate we had chicharrones en salsa, a breakfast staple in this city. To balance the heavier dishes we had a Jugo Verde drink made from fresh pineapple and parsley. The staff were so friendly, we felt at home with the kind approach and nice ambiance. The decor is traditional and tasteful, we had such a fun experience. We dream of this breakfast and want to return with our sons soon. Try some amazing food here next time you're in Guadalajara, Jalisico Mexico!

A Stage Set for Fire and Flavor…read more La Casa de los Platos, a massive restaurant set along a boulevard of equally grand dining halls in Guadalajara's upscale district, thrives on spectacle. Its open-air courtyard, framed by stone and saturated with color, hums with loud music and theatrical flair. The guacamole, made by hand at the table, embodies that performance. Avocados are crushed in a stone molcajete, and the spread arrives bright and tangy. Yet, it's complicated by unnecessary additions--cheese chunks and chicharrón--that crowd out the fruit's natural elegance. A mere five totopos felt stingy, though a sack of piping hot corn tortillas--generous, soft, and fragrant--rescued the moment. At a requested "level 3 of 10," the spice soared higher than expected, a jolt that overwhelmed rather than accented. The rib eye tacos with shrimp and bone marrow extended the show, grilled before us over roaring flames. They were hearty, flavorful, and undeniably filling, but also excessively oily. The flavors--shrimp's brine, marrow's depth, beef's richness--blurred into a dish trying to impress on too many fronts. It was delicious, yes, but a reminder that tacos often shine brightest in their simplicity. Later, a live mariachi band replaced the nightclub thrum, a refreshing turn toward tradition and warmth. Service was fine but forgettable, efficient enough without leaving an impression. In the end, La Casa de los Platos is a spectacle tailored for a high-heeled crowd seeking grandeur. The flavors are bold, the showmanship bigger still--but subtlety rarely takes the stage. #GuadalajaraEats #FoodCritique #LaCasaDeLosPlatos
