The owner, Larry Gonzales, is a good tree trimmer and is reasonably priced. BUT... My job included stump grinding and his cousin failed to do a decent job of grinding the stump below ground level. After many calls to Larry, he has failed to resolve this issue. His M.O. Is to ignore it and hope it will go away. Which would have me believe that any other issue that came up, would also go unresolved. It is too bad....his business had potential especially with the recent weather. read more

***THESE ARE THE GUYS TO CALL*** This past week we called Larry Gonzales of Pit bull tree service. He was the lowest quote of 4 different companies and was the most responsive during that process. He was honest about everything and wasn't pushy about trying to up sell anything else. Larry and his crew took care of our dead cottonwood (we did not require stump grinding) and they trimmed down a mostly dead maple tree in our backyard. Afterwards, all the wood and equipment was cleaned up and they even raked up things in my yard that they didn't have to. Basically, leaving my property better than how they found it. Larry Gonzales came by to give me a bid on trimming and pruning some very large ash trees and removing some huge, thick, overgrown juniper shrubs. He arrived and walked around my property gave me a verbal bid. Others had bid the job as well, and his offer was the best but more importantly Larry was enthusiastic and I could tell was knowledgeable and really loved his job. Plus he said he could do the job right away. He left to get his bucket truck (cherry picker) and a short time later arrived to start. I mention this because some tree trimmers do not have this equipment which I think is an indication of the level of professionalism and long term investment in a business. In other words Larry wants customers to be happy because he knows happy customers will bring in more business which he needs to pay for his equipment. Larry was so easy to communicate with via text, which was super convenient. We had them trim 4 very large trees and shape 2 juniper bushes (and he did a 3rd small one as a bonus!). Excellent job and they knock it out quickly. Larry rang the doorbell and offered to remove a large dead aspen in our backyard. They were $100 less than the lowest bid and had a crew to do the work immediately. The tree wasn't easy to take down since it was next to our fence and the pergola over our deck. They topped the tree and took it down within an hour. They cleaned up the yard and were gone within an hour. Great work guys. read more

Wow! That's the best word I can use to explain how Larry and his crew works. Wow! I live in Lakewood, CO and he came over when he said he was going to come over. Trimmed a BIG tree in my front yard and cleaned up (Without stepping on my sprinkler system!) and cleaned up mess that he didn't even make. Pricing was great! I was given Larry's number from someone that used him as well. His team was fast efficient, and did a great job of cleaning up. Larry and his crew were fantastic. Larry showed up on Saturday and offered to provide a free estimate. Agreeing on a fair price, he and his crew returned on time the following day and removed 4 pine tress and trimmed 3 larger trees. They did an exceptional job, which was only outdone by the meticulous way in which they cleaned up. I don't think there was a single twig, stick or leaf left in the yard that signified the enormous job that had just taken place. We stumbled across Pit Bull by chance, and couldn't be happier! Our neighbor was having a couple of trees removed and we asked for a quote for a VERY large pine tree in our front yard. The quote provided by the owner was very reasonable, most places probably would have charged us double, and so we made a quick decision that day to pay to have our tree removed too. It can be a little nerve-wracking agreeing to such a large expense with no research involved, but the guys at Pit Bull did a better job than I ever expected. They cut down the tree safely, quickly, and cleaned up throughout the process to make sure our neighbors didn't get upset. It was actually a two day job to get our tree down and removed. When I saw the amount of work that went into the process, I thought the price was more than fair. It was extra to have the stump removed, and dang, when I saw the labor required to shred the stump I was SO glad my husband and I shelled out the $300 for that. (Btw.. it wasn't Pit Bull that removed the stump, but someone he recommended who was on site that day. He also did a great job.) Pit Bull has the right equipment to get the job done, and they left my yard immaculate. No extra work on my part having to clean up.
