I highly recommend this establishment for your oil changes and other automotive services they offer, such as brakes and many other maintenance items. I have had several full synthetic oil changes. The prices are great, service is professional and friendly and very quick. They do offer specials on many service options. I really like JD. He might be one of the friendliest techs I've ever encountered. Great Guy! However, twice in the past year they have not secured my oil plug and luckily I caught it. I dripped oil all over my driveway. Then 2 days ago it happened again. I was told by someone in charge that it would never happen again because of "protocols." Yet it did. I was reminding them for a while. Why is it my responsibility to remind them to secure the plug? This is literally something that cannot happen. Incredibly damaging to my car had I not caught it. I'm afraid I can no longer use Pitstop. It's a bummer because it's a decent deal and close. I think it would have a gone a long way to offer me a discount or a coupon for my next visit but was not offered this. If you go there, just make sure you ask if your plug is snug! read more

Where to start? I was on my way out of town when I took my car to another shop for an oil change... big mistake they broke the dipstick off. Then said They were not liable told me I would have to go to mechanic to get it out... i called pit stop practically sobing because I was literally leaving go out west when this happened and had to drive 22 hours in 48. I begged them to please help me and told them what happened. They said they couldnt promise anything but they would take a look and see what they could do for me. I brought the car over they looked at it and were shocked what the other shop had done to my car. The plastic handle part of the dip stick had swelled, so when the tech at the other shop pulled it split the handle and part of it was lodged. I was amazed at their knowledge and percision to get it out with out any damage to the vehicle. I thought it would be impossible to do, but they did and changed my oil right after. I was very appreciative because they helped me fix my car to get to where I was going even though I was delayed by a few hours. read more

Excellent service from start to finish! I managed to pull my car into their driveway where it promptly died. I got out to go talk to them, someone met me halfway & then sent the rest of the guys over to get my car into the garage. It didn't take long to figure out the problem... although they humored me as I asked all of the questions my family was texting me ("Are you sure it's not _____?" "What about ____?") Their price was fair and they worked hard to get me & my four year son back on the road as quickly as possible. They said 1.5-2hrs. Exactly 1.5hrs later, we were done. I have a big road trip coming up and brought my Jeep in today to get an oil change. Daniel helped me out. I asked him to give the whole vehicle a once over to make sure everything looked okay. He found that my rear brakes were practically worn to the metal and scraping against my rotors. I thought I had heard an occasional squeaking but didn't think much of it. Anyways he replaced the breaks and rotors and I couldn't have asked for better service. I can't imagine what might have happened if I had let this go and went on this trip with the breaks in that condition. Caution! I had my oil changed here on Monday. On Tuesday, as I was driving to work, the low/add oil alert came on. What?!? I checked my oil at AutoZone and to my surprise, there was no oil showing on the dip stick. The super nice associate at AutoZone in Wheeling helped me add 2 quarts of oil. Yes, 2 quarts of oil. Now, Pit Stop charged me for additional oil with my oil change, which added more insult to this situation. $14 more in oil. Did I mention that they charged me over $60 for my oil change? I called Pit Stop and spoke with the Manager who "apologized" and offered to give me $15 off MY NEXT OIL CHANGE. Do you really think that I would return sir? I told him that his solution was not good enough. How would he feel if this happened to him, his wife, daughter, etc. it was then he offer to change my oil again for no charge. Saturday I went with my husband to get my replacement oil change. I brought my receipt for the extra oil and was not given money for it. Again the manager offered to give me $15 off my next oil change. We told him that we were still not satisfied with the resolution. He then said well that's all I can do. By the way, he did not give us the $15 off your oil change coupon. We asked for the owner who was not there The manager said he would have the owner call us and took my receipt from AutoZone with our phone number on it A day later, no call. So I am sharing this with anyone that I can to make sure NO ONE else is taken advantage of by Pit Stop. BUYER BEWARE! Terrible service. Did not replace oil filter cover. Went back to retrieve it and was met by some one so lazy he didn't want to even look for it. After much conversation employee went to pit to look and returned with 2 other covers left off other cars. If this is an indication of the service " STAY AWAY " No way is this full service. Danger-Danger-Danger-Danger. Took my car in for a breaks and dropped off on Friday night. They worked on my car on Saturday and called me up 20 minutes prior to an appoint so I took my wife's car. The car was completed at 10 am and I picked it up at 4:50 pm. When I drove home the car was not driving well but you would not think it had anything to do with a break job! How wrong I was!!!!!!! Thank God as I was driving the person behind me was honking their horn and flashing their lights for me to pull over. I pulled over only to be told by this good Samaritan who probably saved my life that it looked like my tire was going to fall off. After looking at the passenger back wheel I noticed that all the lugnuts were one turn from coming off! After completing the break job they never tightened the lugnuts on my tire in the back and two of the lugnuts on the front. THIS WAS A DEATH WISH! I was going 60 miles when thank God some one pulled me over. They came out and tightened the lugnuts and the manager told me that the owner was coming in to speak with me. The owner pulls up in his Cadillac Escalade who tells me he just got in from Florida. He came into the meeting lobby and told me only one person should have been working on the car and for my inconvenience he could throw me a free oil change. He also NEVER said he was sorry and that he was going to check the video tape for what happened. I was so livid that he thought that this was so trivial that offering me an oil change worth about $20.00 and not taking responsibility for the almost tragic outcome that I had a tough time believing the total unprofessional in the was treated. After I called the manager on my way home and told him the conversation I had with the owner did he call me back after reviewing the video tape. The owner said that after reviewing the tape yes they did not tighten the lugnuts the offered me a coupon for a steak dinner. I told him that I could afford my own steak dinner and he told me this is the first time something like this has happened to him and that he did not know what to say. He stated to me he owns 13 Pit Shops and by the reviews he receives I can not believe this is the first time! (Read them) I told him that I drive on the HWY at 70 miles or over and if this would have happen at that speed something very bad would have happened to me and my car. I told him that in the future you should 1st be very concerned about your costumer's welfare and admit we made a big mistake and asked what he could have done to make it up to them instead of flip them an oil change. How trivial!!!!! They have to replace my wheel plate and I'm very concerned about the safety of the break job they did. I got about 1 hour sleep last night thinking about what could have happened to me and my family. Thanks for flipping me an oil change for my inconvenience and your lack of professionalism. I took it there for a tune up months ago and ever since then my car had been destroyed, I spent over 3000 to get it repaired even paid him under the table to make sure it was done right and fast. the issue was fixed but week later magically my car was broken again and me paying what ever he asked and now my car is almost worthless because I took it to them. I took my car to Pit Stop for an oil change and the store manager changed my oil. The job was done in 5 minutes which I expressed to him that it was "the fastest oil change I ever had" Two days later when my oil light went on and my car was "ticking" I popped my hood to find oil everywhere and the cap for the oil sitting on my engine under the hood, he never put the oil cap back on after his careless oil change. I called them and they were at my house within 30 minutes picking up my car to take to their shop, clean, and then they brought it back to me. My car is ruined, alternator is now destroyed along with the belt, gaskets, and many other parts. I called him to let him know what parts need to be replaced with a report and estimate from a trusted mechanic shop. The store manager (who did the oil change) refused to let me speak to the owner, his words to me were "I may have made a mistake mam, but your car does have close to 200,000 miles on it anyways." He then hung up the phone on me. Came here for an oil change in the morning about an hour after they opened and was greeted by a nice employee but he looked like he just rolled out of bed and had the smell of marijuana radiating around him. This was a bad sign already. They provided the basic oil change that I wanted and took care of it very fast but seemed like they were so lazy or In this case both attendants working on my car must've been high off marijuana with how mopey and dopey they looked. And every time driving by looks like a rundown car show with all the cars parked outside. Not willing to come back here again after this experience. They have a sign that advertises oil changes for $18.95 for limited time. When I went in, I was told that regular price was $24.95 and a mail-in rebate was used to obtain the discount. I agreed. After the oil change was complete, the total came to $28.29. The rebate form did not explain the offer and the box they checked noted I was eligible for only a $3.00 rebate. Last I checked, $25.29 did not equal $18.95. I asked if you had to get a different oil to get the advertised discount and he claimed he just says what "they" tell him, he doesn't really understand how it works. I realize there are taxes and a $1.00 shop fee, however they did not explain it is apparently a tiered rebate offer (which I still can't figure out by the form and I work in marketing so am very familiar with tiered offers) and at the end of the day I paid almost 2x the advertised price. THIS PLACE IS A SCAM!! When I got there the employee DIDNT ask me what kind of oil I wanted for my oil change. When I went to pay he told me that the total was $60 ( which was for synthetic oil). I was in disbelief due to the fact that every time I have gotten oil change it has been around $20. I asked why he didn't ask me if I want the normal oil or synthetic oil. He had no response. I told him that I felt taken advantage of because he never offered a choice between the two. I see he has responded to other reviews but will not even give a call back in over a week after my dads truck broke down on 290 after getting an oil change here. They placed a plug that didn't fit and never stated they did so. It was causing the oil to leak apparently and then his engine seized. hello, i had a really bad experience. took my vehicle here for a found out 3 weeks later i had a oil leak. my vehicle was damaged due to the oil leak one of my belts were ripping. went back took the broken part etc explained to the gentleman i wanted the oners number. he then asked why and i explained when they did the oil change they damanged the filter and still put it in broken. the kid then decided to tell me nope i am not giving his number out under the owners order. i said look just give me his number and i will talk to him then the kid got so hostile and started swearing his butt off. we shared words and i called the police. i told the police i think the kid is pissed because i interrupted his pot smoke break in the shop. by the way that place was filled with marijuana burnings. long story short police came the kid was rude as heck to the officer as well. officer set his butt straight made him get me the number to the other shop at least. once the kid went back in the officer then explained to me they get calls on this shop all the time so recommended for me for not to come here anymore and to tell anyone and everyone i know. so stay away from this place. ps i also called the other ahip and left a message for the owner several times and still havent hear from him! poor customer service. if he would have called me back we could of worked this out and might have been a different review. read more
