A great place to stop for a quick bite. Good burgers and reasonably priced lunch specials. A little awkward on checking out though... A hometown diner feel when you walk in the door and with not much else to choose from in the area, I knew this must be the place. I went belly up to the bar to try and make things go a little quicker, although it was a nice day out and the patio could have been a good place to rest from my drive. But I had things to do and places to be, so I ordered the burger, fries and a drink lunch special. The lady at the bar had to relay it to another lady, which was kind of strange, but whatever works. Chatter was pleasant and wasn't that long of a wait. I was asked if I wanted to pay and I handed them my card, the slip came back $3-4 more than it should be. I asked about it and the lady said "woops, I forgot to ring it up as a lunch special". We just kind of awkwardly looked at each other for a bit. I didn't know what to do, since she wasn't offering to fix it. So, I said, do you want to just send me home with something extra. I was able to negotiate a piece of cheesecake, it was alright. What a great little hole in the wall place. First off it's located in an old gas station, hence the name pit stop. Next the staff was very friendly, never let our drinks run out and were beyond helpful! Now to the food, OMG they did not disappoint. I had the chicken cacciatore with a side Caesar salad and fried mushrooms. My hubby had the spaghetti with meat sauce a side salad and a bowl of clam chowder. The food was yummy! The service was very polite and tended to us while we were waiting for our to-go order. The kitchen was a little slow, but I think there's only 2 cooks. Atmosphere was fun- it's a repurposed gas station. The snow made the outside look really pretty. The Sicilian pizza is not deep dish, just has a thicker crust- delicious though. Definitely would stop here again when traveling through the area! Highly recommend placing an order ahead of time online if on a tight schedule. read more

This has to be the worst experience I ever had in fast food. I tip the delivery driver as you supposed to... I attached pictures... I bought 2 gyros order fries and a order of mushrooms. The mushrooms were cold they came with no sauce. The fries were cold. They give you three pieces of meat a little mayonnaise some overripe tomatoes. And the tzatziki sauce is more like mayonnaise. Buyer beware... I have attached pictures. Never been to this place in my life they were highly recommended by Peterbilt and by motel 6 we're not from here we're both from Nashville we're only here because the truck is at the shop at Peterbilt we are truck drivers. So this is no ill will towards them I also attached my receipt so you know I'm telling the truth could have gotten better food from the gas station and probably save a few dollars.... Visited during the Hillsville, VA flea market for lunch. Was not crowded. The employees/staff seemed overwhelmed with the small amount of people who were there. I was really hesitant to stop here as it looks like an old gas station not a restaurant. But, because I had read the reviews describing such good food and service I did go in and ordered the lasagna. The waiter was proud to say it was their own recipe and had not been frozen. I love lasagna and this was the same quality as a fine Italian restaurant recipe. The dinner plate was filled so full that I had to bring 3/4 of the lasagna home with me. There was enough on the plate to make two more meals for me. And left over lasagna just gets better! I just discovered this neat little out of the way Resteraunt located just a short distance fro I77 exit 8. They have a very large menu and so far everything I've eaten is really good!! Service has been excellent and they even have a large outside seating area! When you pull up to the restaurant, it doesn't look like a traditional restaurant because it's a converted gas station. The first time we ate here it was AMAZING- the pizza was the best i ever had and the Italian nachos came out with a bowl of homemade alfredo, homemade "chips", and the toppings- it was divine. We stopped today to get pizza and Italian nachos to go- got all the way home (35 min drive) and both pizzas were burnt on bottom and one had wrong toppings- our veggie lovers had extra olives instead of NO OLIVES. The italian nachos were all dumped together instead of sauce separate and so soggy and SPICY (from the jalapeños) that i almost couldn't eat them. I should've checked the pizza before i left- so partly my fault. I called and the nice lady took my name and number to "make it up to us" next time, as i wasnt driving all the way back (which I really appreciate). Wow can't say enough great things about this place. We were just passing by and stopped due to Yelp reviews we saw. When you drive up it looks like a gas station so we were not sure what we were in for. The fact that it is an old gas station adds to the quaint ambience and the theme is carried on inside with license plates on the wall and an old tire made into a mirror in the bathroom. Open the door and you are greeted by friendly, smiling local servers. The menu is extensive surely something to please anyone in your group. My son had the Pepperoni pizza it was really good. The crust was perfect and the toppings delicious. My husband had the jalapeño burger and fries the burger was perfectly cooked and juicy and the seasoned fries were crisp and golden. I had the gyro salad and the ingredients used were fresh and the salad was huge. Finally the value was amazing. It was $31 for our order. It would have cost the same or more had we stopped for fast food and would not have been nearly as good. I only wish it wasn't almost 5 hours from home! I am a local in Fancy Gap. I live 6 minutes from the restaurant and ordered delivery pizza. After two hours with no order, I called and was told it was sitting on the counter waiting for delivery (so it had still not left). When I explained I had been waiting for TWO HOURS I was told. Well we can't help it, there are only two of us working here. I have a hungry kid that is now at bedtime waiting for pizza ordered two hours ago. If you are that understaffed, just close your doors. When I asked when I could expect it, I was told "I dont know, whenever the driver gets back he will bring it". NEVER AGAIN! read more
