I've ordered from here before and I know it's good but I just wanted to leave this particular review about the encounter I had this evening and the wonderful customer service. We ordered roti through the Uber eats app for delivery. I went to ask my mom if she wanted something but when I returned my husband had already submitted the order to Uber eats. I called roti and asked if we could add something to our order. Unfortunately their system would not allow them to add my mother's dish, but the gentleman who answered the phone took the order anyway. I suggested I pay for the order separately and they simply bag it with the rest of the Uber eats order since they were still preparing that for us. After taking the additional order, the gentleman said that they would just give us the last dish on the house since their system would not allow them to add the additional order. It was unexpected and exceptional customer service and I wanted to leave them a good review here as a response. My mom has been sick this week and had a particularly rough past few days. That small gesture meant a lot. Give that man a raise! He not only made adding to the order painless, but went above and beyond to accommodate us. A smart move for building customer loyalty. read more

I was just at Roti and this review is about the service. I look forward to my salad at Roti becuase the qulity and freshness of the food. I am a carry out person and ran on my lunch break to pick up a salad. The tast of the food is good but the woman helping me should be fired. Let's start with her greeting or lack of. She walked up to the counter like it was a major inconvenience. I asked for a salad and she did not ask what type of lettuce I wanted and just added romaine...barely enough to cover the bottom of the bowl. Then we moved to protein and I asked for chicken. She rolled her eyes and added the chicken on the side of the bowl. As for the toppings she didn't even put a whole scoop of hummus. She threw my salad in the bag and when I asked for pita, she slowly strolled into the back and then threw that in the bag as well. The pita was not fresh and hard on the sides...and this is the first time it has been this way. This fun experience for $15. I realize it is difficult to find good help, but I am going to think twice before returning. It makes me sad because I really do like the food. read more

BYOBowl is an awesome way to allow guests to choose whatever they would like in their bowl. We decided to do mobile order ahead of time to help save time and the ordering process was simple. Arrived, walked in and went straight to the front counter and informed the employee I had a couple Bowls for mobile order. The staff was very nice, There was plenty of seats for guests. I did notice their fountain juice bar was running low and maybe a couple needed to be changed out to the sprayer wasn't working? I only noticed two employees working during dinner time, so they were doing the best that they could. Music in the place was just right. Not too loud nor too quiet. So how was the food? It was good. Because I was the chef who selected the ingredients lol. I noticed the garlic sauce and green shug was different this time. The garlic sauce was runny and thin and I could see the green shug separated from the oil. Maybe it's me and that's how they should be, this was a first. Overall, I would recommend it. read more

I'm updating to 5 stars. The food here was really good when I recently stopped in this week. It tasted fresh. The portions are large. I got a bowl with roti chicken, rice, feta, pickled onions, chickpeas, shredded carrots, and yogurt with red pepper sauce. This is basically a Mediterranean Chipotle! I love my Mediterranean food so I'm glad to have a Roti in the area. They have a wide variety of sauces, meats, and ingredients. I noticed they added some new menu items as well. Not busy at all during 5:00pm. Workers were nice and helpful. Gotten a build your own bowl and had leftovers for today. Also ordered chickpeas in a blanket and I had expected it to come out like the picture but they smash the falafel with the toppings already which was okay I guess. Taste wise was amazing all the wonderful flavors especially with the spicy red sauce it came with and tzatziki sauce. Got garlic on the side was also okay. First timer for Roti, I really enjoyed it! I ordered off of DoorDash so can't speak to the service or ambiance at the restaurant, but the food was great! I was a little upset that all the sauces ended up on the top of my bowl as I asked for them to be on the slides but overall it was a great blend of roasted veggies, tender roasted chicken, cauliflower rice, greens and lots of other yummy veggie toppings. Easily the best falafel place I have been to! Roti provides a variety of options and great falafel to create a bowl. I was also given two pitas with my bowl and it is perfect to make pita sandwiches with a bowl and have leftovers. I also really like all the sauces given with the bowl as well. The location is also in a perfect area, right next to a major mall. I also really love the service whenever I go here as we are treated kindly and do not have to wait too long. If you are visiting the mall or are in the area I would 100% recommend checking this place out! read more

Love this place! Have stopped here twice on the way to Chicago and have not been disappointed either time. In fact, it's been a very happy surprise finding this place! They offer several bowls, salads, and sandwiches, along with sides and some drink options. The build your own bowl is my favorite. You can customize it exactly how you want it, and man is it delicious. So many raw and real ingredients that are flavorful as heck. Also some amazing sauces to bring up the deliciousness even more. Ordered Flip the Bird for $9.50. Pita on the side is free. You can't substitute ingredients unless you build your own bowl for a higher price of $12.50. I put 3/5 stars because the chicken was so burnt and dry that it was mostly inedible. I was hoping to get falafel or lentils as my main protein, but that would've required me to build my own bowl. Roti, overall is decent compared to other middle eastern places but not the best. It's the Chipotle of Mediterranean food. We came on a Saturday around 630ish pm and what's weird is that they didn't have much in stock on the front line most of the items were low and not so eye catching. They offer sandwiches, rice plates, and salads. You pick and choose what you want from proteins: chicken roti, steak roti, chicken kabob, salmon kabob, and falafel. You can also try every side on your they have: hummus, tomato & cucumber, cous cous, red cabbage slaw, quinoa cauliflower tabbouleh, fresh vegetables, feta cheese, sumac onions, and olives. We had the soft laffa wrap with chicken kabob and a rice plate with chicken roti and every side and sauce. I loved the tomato and cucumber side, cous cous, and quinoa cauliflower tabbouleh. I could just eat that and still feel good because it's fresh and delcious. What fell short was the pita bread it was hard and dry. My friend picked up dinner on Monday night and talked to 3 people about my spinach allergy and they assured her the mix did not contain spinach, yet I found many pieces in my salad. It is extremely scary that my allergy wasn't taken seriously. I will never order from here again. If you have an allergy I don't recommend going here as they don't seem to take it seriously. Guys don't go here! This place is ridiculously expensive!! I got a bowl nothing too crazy did not add any mean b/c I am vegan, I ask the guy to add more salad sides to my bowl and he said that they keep the portions small, I understood and was okay with what he said, by the time I paid my total was $18!!!!! In the future I would continue to go to BIBIBOP instead, they never charge extra for adding more stuff to your bowl and they are like $8 dollars cheaper! It's also right by ROTI but yea, never going to this place again no wonder why it was empty, if you have the money to pay for stuff like this than go ahead and get yourself some vegan tacos and take some shots over at Fat Rosies because you will probably pay the same price. read more

After seeing rave reviews for this place by a few of my favorite Yelpers, I knew I had to swing by as soon as I could -- which was a cold Black Friday night. However, there's a problem with reading great reviews before trying a new place: you kind of have high expecations. At least, that happened to me with Roti. And I think that's why I didn't love the place as much as I probably should have. Roti is, like several others have mentioned, basically a Chipotle-style Mediterranean food place. You walk up to the counter, choose from several dish options (sandwich, rice place, or salad), select your toppings and sides, and have your meal ready as soon as you've paid for it. Fast food without being typical fast food. It's not original, but it works. I did drool over all the options -- couscous, salmon, veggies, cucumber/tomato salads, etc. -- and took my sweet time figuring out what I wanted. The women working behind the counter were very helpful and enabled me to choose everything I wanted to try. Yet, my jaw nearly dropped when I saw our total bill was $25. I honestly wasn't expecting that. Everything just added up. An extra $2 for the salmon, an extra $4 for our two drinks.... It wasn't terribly expensive, but we were hoping to spend just a little bit less (usually we spend about $15 at Chipotle). It WAS filling, I'll give them that, but it wasn't amazingly delicious. My small portion of veggies (I literally ate the whole portion in two bites) was kind of burned and tasteless, the rice was just rice, and the salmon wasn't impressive (nor did I think it was worth the extra two bucks). The couscous and the tomato/cucumber were my favorite. I skipped the sauces (sauces aren't my thing) but I did try my husband's roasted pepper sauce and it wasn't too bad. I'm not writing this place off just yet. I think next time I just need to skip the salmon and opt for water. That alone will save me a few bucks, and I can better appreciate the food that I actually liked here, while trying a few other items. We went to the Roti in the Chicago Loop several months ago and the experience was fine. While I would say that the staff is pleasant enough at the Schaumburg location, the experience was not as great. The idea of a "fast food" Mediterranean restaurant is really a novelty in my mind. After trying Roti twice now, I'm convinced that the experience of a locally owned restaurant where you can get Felafil, Schwarma, Hummus and other items is really better. I find the quality of the food at other local Middle-Eastern / Mediterranean restaurants to be better at the same or a better price. read more

When I opened my food at home the falafel were so hard I couldn't get a metal fork into them. They also forgot to put olives in my order. I've been loyal to Benjyehuda, but I had to try this place after a year of working in the area. I know many compare this to Benjyehuda, but to me, it's not a fair comparison. So far, I really like Roti. I get the chicken kabob plate with eggplant salad, roasted veggies, hummus, cabbage salad, and a pita. Everything on the plate is delicious, but the chicken is hit or miss. Sometimes it's dry and tough and sometimes it's moist and tender. I have to try the falafels next time. Benjyehuda has more cold items with their plate and just has a different taste compared to Roti. If I am craving for a colder type of entree, I would go to Benjyehuda and if i wanted something warmer, I would go to Roti. They are both good and I'm glad they are both in Schaumburg. read more

Let's play a game, you're driving with your family for travel in town. You looked at the clock and oh crap, it's 7 PM on a Labor Day Sunday, and most places around you are closed. Doesn't help that one of the members of your party has a gluten + dairy sensitivity. What do you do? You panic, find out that Roti Modern Mediterranean is open, and promptly swerve into the parking lot. The food was surprisingly good given how late it was in the evening. We all got some permutations of a Falafel and/or Chicken bowl and all the toppings were still great. There were a few things that were clearly out, but I certainly wouldn't want to ding that on them -- it's the weekend of Labor Day Weekend at 7 PM after all. I got a salmon rice plate and added falafel. It ended up to be pricey compared to Bibibop ($15 vs $8). However, it was plenty of food and I had leftovers. The food was tasty and I love how you can get all the toppings and sauces you want. I like how their falafel are moist, whereas it can be dry at other places. There was hardly any salmon, though. I also ended up getting a stomach ache, but that could be due to all the variety of ingredients and sauces. All in all, tasty and good quantity. 3.5 stars. read more

Oh my~~~ I am SO full and I only ate half of my rice plate. I was lucky enough to be one of the chosen ones to attend a soft opening for the new Roti Mediterranean Grill in Schaumburg today. The location is insanely convenient to my company and it's a fresh, healthier option than other things in the area so I'm excited. My coworkers that live in the city have told me of the goodness that is Roti, however I had never tried it until today. I must say, I'm now a big fan. I've been to soft openings before, as well as newly opened businesses and Roti was flowing so much more smoothly than most I've been to. We were greeted by a few different people when we walked in. Everyone was eager to explain the food & concept plus all were really friendly. The way you order is a similar concept to Chitpotle : 1. You decide the basic way you want your food - either a sandwich (laffa wrap or pita pocket - $6.95), rice plate (your choice of 3 sides/toppings + pita bread - $7.95) or salad (comes with a pita - $7.95). 2. You place your order with the first person behind the counter & also let them know what type of meat/main item you'd like - Chicken Kabab, Chicken Roti, Steak Roti, Salmon, Falafel or Fresh Veggies. 3. You then go through the line and they ask if you'd like sauce on the side or spread throughout your meal (Dill, Yogurt & Cucumber, Roasted Red Pepper, Tahini, S'hug or Roti Vinagrette) and what sides or toppings you'd like (tomato & cucumbers, feta cheese, fresh veggies, spanish eggplant, olives, sumac onions, red cabbage slaw, cous-cous or hummus). 4. Wham, bam, thank you Ma'am - you're done & you pay, adding any extras you want such as a fountain drink or cookie. *If you're the indecisive type or would like to trust Roti, they have some special combos that you can pick instead of picking your own ingredients* Today they had a steady stream of people coming through the line and all was flowing so surprisingly smoothly, it bares mentioning again. I had their rice plate with Chicken Kabab, Feta Cheese, Cous-cous, Hummus, and Dill, Cucumber & Yogurt sauce over the meat & rice. I was surprised how much I enjoyed the dill sauce. All ingredients tasted quite fresh, nothing was overdone, the chicken was nice & moist and it all was so delicious! The portion was so huge that I ended up taking half home for dinner. They have plastic tops that will snap onto the plate if needed. I really liked the concept of not creating more waste with styrofoam containers and using the plate you were already eating off of as half the take home container. My entire plate was just 568 calories, so eating half of it was the perfect amount of food for me and at just 284 calories a very healthy lunch. They have a fountain drink station which could only be improved if it was a Coke Freestyle. Either that or have another Diet/Zero option aside from Coke. I must say this station was extremely clean and stayed clean throughout the hour we dined in. There were honestly a zillion workers in today making sure all went as planned. I don't know if this is the norm but a nice gentlemen came around and cleared our table for us. Not only that, but another came around to offer us a chocolate chip cookie that was sweet & soft & yummy in my tummy! They have an app in which you can photograph your receipt & earn points towards free food. A great concept that I'm surprised more bars & restaurants haven't picked up on. One downfall is that Schaumburg isn't yet on the app despite them heavily advertising it today. Overall, I had the most wonderful experience at Roti today. With open arms I welcome Roti to Schaumburg and I know I'll be back with coworkers often! Plus they do catering - definitely going to let my company know on that. read more

It's not that I didn't have high expectations when it came to Roti's fare, it's just that I'm not the world's biggest fan of falafel, or Mediterranean food. For the most part, to me, even when it's good Mediterranean food, it's still kind of just meh... So imagine my surprise while trying out Schaumburg's newest chain fast-fare, only to find it's absolutely phenomenal. Like, whoa. If I lived near here, I'd come at least once a week... and obvi join the Roti frequent customer club to get more free falafel. I was waffling between a wrap, pita, or rice plate, but settled on the $7.95 rice plate because I would get to choose 3 sides. Please note, not all sides are listed on the menu, but the person who puts your order together will offer all while building your plate, which is a good thing because otherwise I would've missed out on the most delicious olive salad ever. With my falafel rice plate came 4 falafel balls, I got two mini pitas, a buncha rice, hummus, grilled vegetables, the olive salad and I chose the tahini sauce, though there were a number of sauces I wanted to try, namely the spicy and cucumber dill. Next time. I added on two baklava triangles at check-out for my partner and I, and was on my merry way to a seat in the dining area. My partner said he wasn't hungry, but I knew he'd change his tune once face-to-face with falafel. Lo-and-behold, I was right. We ended up splitting the whole thing and practically fighting for the last few bites. If it hadn't been so close to closing, I would've totally gone up and ordered more. I love that serve both bottles and tap Honest Tea (my favorite!), and that for $11 I got enough food for myself, and my partner with 2 desserts. My partner and I were totally the jerks who stayed until 2-minutes before their closing time and as we left, we saw every employee at the food bar cleaning up AND, get this -- smiling. This is a good place for fast Middle Eastern food in the northwest suburbs. It's not the best, but I do go quite a bit because there isn't much of a selection of ME food out here. It's like a Chipotle for ME food. This concept seems to be popular. I got a rice plate with the chicken kabob. There's a selection of salads and sauces, and they do make fresh pita for you, which is really nice. At the same time, the concept isn't best because the shawarma isn't right off the spit. It's in a container, drying out and waiting to get served. Although, I don't know what Roti is (it's not an Arabic word but heard it's Indian) it is a very Americanized Middle Eastern dining experience. They do try their best, and it's delicious, but they haven't mastered beef shawarma and falafel. For Schaumburg, this place is great. They serve organic or all natural ingredients in their food and they try to promote how healthy they are. You don't feel like you ate a cow and it's mom when you're done, and you certainly won't regret anything you eat because it's not a gut bomb. Great lunch joint. You can be in and out in an hour. Food is always warm and delicious. Their hummus is tasty (although, once you start getting into flavored hummus, I get a little aggravated). Great selection of salads to go with your food. read more

And if by chance you do, you should probably offer to pay the extra 50 cents per each extra side on top of the allotted amount of my rice plate.
