I have been to Pita Pit several times and I've always had a great experience. The staff has ALWAYS been very nice. My foster brother ordered a Prime Rib pita, but sadly they had run out - right away the guy taking our order recommended the Philly Steak to him. He was okay with that...now it's his new favorite and I expect he'll be ordering that from now on (o: I had my usual chicken pita, I prefer mine on wheat with spinach, feta, cucumbers, tomatoes, mushrooms, tzatziki, and green bell pepper. Very tasty! The only reason I'm giving a four star instead of five is because I don't care for the fact that a lot of the proteins are precooked. Pita Pit says they're a healthy alternative to fast food - part of that should be cooking the meats to order instead of heating them up. I think they would be so much tastier, then I would give five stars. Either way, if you're tired of Subway being your healthy alternative to fast food then check out Pita Pit. You actually get your money's worth and there's no funky stench lingering in the air. read more

The food was good....however, the gangster music with four letter words was completely unacceptable. I asked the two employees about it and they seemed very disinterested that a customer had a problem with it. We couldn't wait to leave. Probably won't ever go back based on the type of music they choose to play and the attitude of the employees. I would certainly never ever take young children in there. read more

Food is always fresh and delicious at every Pita Pit I've ever been to. The bummer part of this location is, the majority of the tables have been dirty 4/4 visits. On this visit, there were only three guests and the place was slow. I think clean tables are one of those attention to detail items that separate good from superior. read more

I hate having to write such a poor review, but one star is clearly too high for my experience. I came to visit from Texas and heard great things about the food so I decided to give it a try. This is the worst kind of customer service that I have ever both received and encountered. There was a very tall young lady with dark eye make up and auburn hair who was working in the front. She charged me and wasn't very polite to start with so i'm sorry if she had a bad day, apparently it interfered with her job. that's besides the point.. she had friends come to pita pit to buy some food and she chose to be loud and absolutely OBNOXIOUS in front of the like of customers meanwhile her co worker was so very sweet and was working fast to get our orders out. She was gossiping and screaming, acting out and laughing so unprofessional and vulgar. It was extremely disappointing that a place with such great potential, hires such individuals. I was very displeased and I'm sure she will be the reason people won't want to come in. I will sadly never be returning to this establishment, I'd rather go to a strip club or bar if I want to hear the same conversations and see the attitudes. Sorry Pita, you should review your requirements for employment and make sure your employees process common sense and manners! Food was yummy! read more

If you have never had a Giro or Falafel sandwich, don't let this place scare you off from the good ones. This place uses the frozen box Giro meat you can buy at any grocery store or in bulk at Cash & Carry. It is ok but the meat cooked on a spit is to die for. They also use a falafel mix and in the sandwich has the consistency of stuffing from a roasted bird. That is not how falafel should be served. Falafel should be deep fried balls of the mixture. The crunch and texture is part of the experience. For the price, they give you very little meat on the Giro sandwich. You need to order double meat but then the sandwich is too expensive. The food was ok and you can have them put lots of veggies on it. Normally on a Giro, I would not want the veggies but here you need to bulk up the sandwich since there is so little meat on it. read more

No towels in the bathroom. Loud butt rock CD skipping the entire time and employees apparently too high to notice. The food: I ordered a falafel and let me say I've had some bad falafel in my life. This was much worse. Not sure it even qualifies as falafel unless falafel is also synonymous with dog food (not an exaggeration). Go to the grocery store, buy the cheapest falafel mix you can find, ignore the directions, wing it and completely screw it up. You will end up with something far more palatable. Perhaps I should put this into context. In Medford your choices are corporate crap food or really bad diner food (don't get me started on the Mexican food). At least the pit has some fresh veggies and stale pita. In Ashland one can find good food at excellent food prices. Other than that, south of Eugene, Oregon is a wasteland of taste. read more

Ordered food for delivery a few weeks ago and it took over an hour past the delivery time for the food to come because the driver went to the wrong place. Decided to place a large order this week for a meeting and faxed it in an hour ahead of time and was called and told they were short handed and it would likely be about 2 hours from the time I placed the order. I asked if I came and picked it up if it would be faster and was told that they would have to put my order ahead of people in line to do that. They also mentioned that due to new owners their prices had gone up. I had faxed ahead a $100 order for food. I picked it up, had to wait in line behind 5 people and they had packed so many pitas in as few bags as possible that 2 bags ripped apart and contents fell on the ground on the way out. Part of my order was for 2 pitas and 1 bag of chips and it was $21.07. Sorry Pita Pit, but we won't be dining with you again. read more

DUSTIN, the shift lead gets 100% and an A+ when it comes to customer service. I travel to Medford twice a month for work and usually get in to town late. I called past the delivery cut-off time and Dustin went out of his way to make an exception for me. Along with the exception, being a first time customer he very kindly took 15 minutes of his time to explain the menu and all the options over the phone. I GIVE PITA PIT of Medford a 10 OUT OF 10 because of DUSTIN. I will not only be returning to enjoy this amazingly tasty food, but I will certainly recommend everyone I come in contact with to go and see DUSTIN at the Medford Pita Pit!!!!! read more

I have been going there every Wednesday since April after my Son's karate class. Over the last few months I have experienced some issues that I thought were one off issues at the time (called in/app orders being incorrect and missing items, etc.). As of tonight I have realized that this is not true. There has been a significant decline in the quality of service at the establishment. Let me share my experience tonight. At 7:16 PM I called in a to go order, the first thing out of the ladies mouth after I asked for that was "we stop delivery orders at 7:30" and I responded by explaining I was only a few blocks away near the north Fred Meyer off of Poplar. She said "That will be okay I guess". I then I proceeded to place my order and started with my 5 year old son's favorite of a little turkey with shredded lettuce, tomatoes, carrots, cucumbers, olives and pickles as well as the standard cheese and sauces (yes I have a 5 year old that loves vegies). She immediately said that they could not do that, that I only get one additional item on the little turkey (mind you we ordered the exact same thing in person 2 weeks ago and over the phone for delivery the weekend before). I explained that we have always ordered it this way and she said that the policy was only the one additional item after the lettuce. I understand the policies personally, but instead they should say something like the little turkey only comes with 1 item but I could do a small pita for $XX more she just shut me down. I asked to get her owners information and she said she could not give that but that I could call the store tomorrow. I asked when the owner would be in tomorrow and she said that the owner doesn't come into the store. I mentioned that I had been coming to Pita Pit for quite a while and that I had met the owner multiple times in the store working with the employees in both Grants Pass and Medford. I also had met the owner once at my daughter's school because they both went to Saint Mary's. She said that they were under new ownership since about 3 months ago and it is much more corporate now and that she was afraid of being fired. My issue around the quality is this (I have managed restaurants and retail establishments) and this establishment has fundamentally changed their culture and customer experience. An organization should teach their associates to not initially say NO over and over (the delivery timing then the pita) but instead say here is what we can do for this price. I will no longer support Pita Pit in Southern Oregon. read more

Pita Pit is exactly what you make of it -- nothing more, nothing less. The food can be tasty, or awful... But that is because you choose exactly what you want in your pita. I do like the customization ability. And if you're going to dine-in then I think it's an enjoyable lunch. I much prefer Pita Pit to Subway, for example. However, I would be careful what ingredients you choose. Mushrooms, for example, should be avoided at Pita Pit because you don't know how long they've been out, and are often slimey. I also have found that the Pita Pit does not make good take out. For some reason they turn to unappetizing mush if you don't consume them quickly after purchase. But I'm glad they're available to provide some variety. And it's always a good thing when you can order something exactly the way you want it. read more

Wow. I'm in shock at the terrible customer service provided by JATOYA MCKINNEY @ the Medford Pita Pit. My husband and I had 2 pitas delivered...after a few bites he realized that his was messed up. I called and got the *privilege* of talking to Jatoya. I explained the situation and told her that we didn't want a new sandwich right then, but we did want them to make it right. She put me on hold for a couple minutes, then came back and said her manager told her the only way to handle it was for us to BRING THE SANDWICH BACK so they could see they screwed up; then they would give us a new one. I'm sorry - WHAT?!?!?!?!? I told her that we had the pitas delivered for a reason, and that we shouldn't have to drive all the way down there to rectify the situation. I told her that I wouldn't waste my time calling them if they hadn't actually messed it up. She responded with a click - yep, just hung up on me. And that was only the beginning. I called back and she would not let me get a word in edgewise. I asked to speak to her manager and she said she was now the manager on duty (apparently the actual manager had just left). She kept talking over me (yelling, really) until I got sick of it and hung up. I called back again and asked to speak with anyone else, but she wouldn't let me. My husband called and calmly told her that he didn't feel like he should have to pull apart his pita to pick stuff out before he could enjoy it, and that he just wanted the situation resolved. He also told her that he owns his own business and that if she worked for him and treated a customer this way, she would be fired on the spot. I'm not sure what all she said, but the next thing I know he's got her on speaker phone spelling out her name so we can file a complaint. She made a point to tell us that we would be the first people to report her in 5 years, so she'll "take it." I tried getting one full sentence in, but she would not stop yelling. I kept saying, "Could you please stop talking long enough for me to finish my sentence?" She continued yelling then hung up again. I called back while my husband was calling the corporate office. I put her on speaker phone and we left them a message of her yelling so they could hear how Pita Pit was being represented. Neither of us could ask a question or make a comment. She just kept yelling...continuously. I finally got her to shut up long enough so I could speak. I told her, "In all of my experiences with other businesses in the food industry, I've NEVER had to bring the food back to prove they messed up. They just say, 'I'm sorry, we'll credit you on your next order'...the way you're handling this is just WRONG." She then had the nerve to tell me that as the current acting manager she would've made it right by "hooking us up" with not just a sandwich, but a WHOLE COMBO! (Careful now, don't go too crazy.) But she was going by what HER manager had told her to do. She then proceeded to continue yelling until I was yelling back, "CAN YOU PLEASE JUST STOP TALKING FOR ONE SECOND!?!" Of course, she just kept yelling until she hung up again. She mentioned at least 3 times that we would be the first people to complain about her (yeah, we get it - don't care). She even said that she was trying to help us out...???? You have GOT to be joking. At some point, during one of the many calls, she said something about how she didn't have to take us yelling at her. I told her that neither of us got mad or yelled until AFTER she hung up on me during the first call. Uh, yeah - you hang up on me like that, I'm definitely going to raise my voice a little. I called back yet again to get the franchise owner's info (somewhere along the way she told us we could talk to him) and she hung up without even answering the phone. My husband and I both kept calling and she kept hanging up. I waited a couple minutes then called back one last time. By then the sound of her voice was like nails on a chalkboard..."It's a party at Pita Pit, how may I help you?" I calmly asked for the owner's name. She told me that she had just spoken to him and he said she didn't have to talk to us anymore, and that we could call and talk to him on Monday. Which is exactly what we'll do. I'm sure he won't care and will side with his employee, but I still want to voice my opinion. At this point we DO want to take the sandwich back, and shove it straight down her throat so she finally stops talking! Neither of us feels like going to jail, though...so we'll sit tight until Monday. We're not even that upset about them screwing up his sandwich - mistakes happen. But the way it was handled was wrong in so many ways. They've lost at least 2 customers, and probably many more. My husband comes into contact with a lot of people every day, and he'll be sure to spread the word. read more

I went to The Pita Pit for the first time Monday with my wife for lunch. I had a craving for Gyro's so I overlooked the high price of almost 8 dollars for one. I ordered two and two small drinks and was informed that they were out of tzatziki sauce....really? Its Noon on a Monday how can you be out of anything? Not to mention the store is next to Safeway who i'm sure had the ingredients. Needless to say I will not be returning. read more

Terrific Service above and beyond, food ok, pricey though. I will keep coming back because the guy fixing our food went above and beyond. We told him of our food restrictions and he actually stopped and cleaned the grill so that our food would not be non-kosher when prepared on their grill. The only small complaint I have is the other girl when we asked for a to go bag would not get us one and gave us an old used pita bag to put our food in. High?.... or just lazy?.... either way, homegirl, get a NEW bag. Anyway, the food is ok, not up to the level of falafel you get in Europe or Israel, but ok. Is it pricey, hmmmm..... yeah, ok....it's pricey, but I will keep coming back, because that one guy showed cultural sensitivity and witout us asking, made the grill able to be used for kosher. Great job, homey! You deserve double kudos. Other girl, well, maybe your boss reads this and figures out who you are, and motivates you.
