This Mediterranean grill and market is among my favorites in Tulsa. They have a small grocery store set up inside past the counter where you order and it has mostly imported goods from over seas. From lentils to dates they have e a selection of Mediterranean fare. S My experience with food here so far has been with sandwiches (gyros and schwarma) and stuff like hummus or babaganoush. We tried pita place yesterday and it was very good! You order on a kiosk (which is fine) then they bring it out to you. There is no service really because you get your own drink and clean your own table. The food was very good my husband and I both got chicken pitas with fries and also cucumber salad and hummus. All of which was very delicious. The place had a little store which you can buy Mediterranean ingredients which is neat. Some of the stuff is from Costco though and they were asking double the costco price so just be aware lol still neat... overall the food is what's important and it's delicious read more

Seems like they're skimping out on quality ingredients. We ordered a chicken shawarma and a gyro with taziki on the side. Had to ask for the taziki. The chicken in the shawarma looked and tasted like processed frozen chicken with a dash of shawarma seasoning. The taziki they put in the gyro tasted like plain sour cream. The food was delicious. I had Persian soup and salad. I loved the salad so much, I looked for a recipe online and made it. The pita bread was soft and warm. My husband had the lamb stew and loved it. My local Mediterranean food restaurant was closed today so I decided to try Pita Place. I was in the mood for a combo kebab plate with beef and chicken at my regular place so I rolled with the same order here. I had to order the Steak plate and then add a side of chicken to get that, no biggie. I ordered it to go and also ordered an extra side of tzatziki and the total was $32. When she handed me the bag it felt unusually light which should have been my first clue. I get home, open the bag and the steak is little slices, not the typical chunks of a kebab like I'm used to, maybe 7 or 8 slices that equated to 2.5-3 oz of meat. The side of chicken had about equal amounts of meat, 3 oz. The rest of the "plate" included a large serving of rice, one small ramekin of tabouli, and a pita. They left out my extra tzatziki. Two stars because it all tasted good but wasn't nearly enough food for the price. Double the price of my typical place, for half the food and one less side item. Do yourself a favor, go to Kenda's or Meddy's. read more

This was the best chicken gyro I have had in a long time! They didn't just have everything sitting waiting, but made it fresh ! All parts were delicious, well seasoned, and tasty! My only con was the amount of fries that were on the side. It was a kids serving lol. The people working were so friendly and excited for all the customers to try their food! When we moved to Bixby, by happenstance, we passed by the Pita Place, and its sign caught our eye. I love Gyros, and we stopped to try other Greek offerings. It was our first Bixby/Tulsa restaurant, and we claimed it as our special place. However, it was partially blocked by an upgrade of East 111 Street. For months, we patronized it and celebrated when the road project was completed. Within days of completing the fronting road project, it was closed to through traffic only, for another road project to improve 111th Street east to Mingo Road. It was scheduled to be completed by December-January, 2026, but in November, it was announced that the soil column at a large culvert was unsuitable for the planned improvement, and that it would be replaced by a bridge not anticipated or included in the contract. Bridge designs are site-specific, so road improvements were delayed by design timelines and construction bid letting. In the meantime, the Pita Place Mediterranean Grill & Market is an unpublished Greek tragedy, adversely affecting an immigrant family that came to this nation in search of hope and prosperity. read more

I gave them a 2 for poor customer service. I like the food at this place but they're so stinking inflexible with their menu. I typically just want grilled chicken, tabouli and pita and hummus. (Which by the way, is a very common offering at most Mediterranean restaurants). They refuse to allow me to only order these items together because "it's not in their system". Sometimes they have employees who know how to work around the system but this time the owner took my order and refused. He continued to argue with me when I asked how I could just order these 3 items saying there's no way. So I had to get the chicken kabob platter with vegetables andrice (which I don't want) and pay extra for hummus and tabouli causing my order to be nearly $30. Crazy!! On the way to Bixby I wanted to find something fast, Togo, and something I've not yet tried. This place seems like it has had better days prior to COVID much like many local businesses. It being local was the main reason I gave it a try. Walking in there was someone dining at a table, greeted me, and eventually the staff came as well after I'd noticeably finished staring at the menu at the register. The facilities very well cleaned, and they even had a small grocery in the back. Once I was finally greeted the individual was very kind, and requested my order which was a quick beef gyro. I'm not normally a fan of a tzaki style sauce, but this thing was so flavorful that I had to share with my toddler in the car. He kept asking and signing for more! I wish the buffet was still going ok during this pandemic so I could give a full review, but what I tasted from the gyro you can't go wrong! read more

We have only lived in Bixby for 3 weeks and have eaten here twice. It is truly excellent. The owners are Persian and they are excellent people. I have had the gyro twice with tabouli and the baklava. Pita Place does a once a month vegan buffet dinner night. This is not to be missed. There are more options on the buffet than one could (should?) possibly try at once. Only a very few menu items are on the buffet line, so a lot of the buffet items are not available on the reg. The buffet is totally worth the schlep out to the middle of gated community, strip mall, big box store land. All of the stuff I tried tonight was very good. It all tasted fresh and delicious. The vegetarian and omnivore I went with also enjoyed the buffet. So it will leave all comers with full tumtums and happy tasters. This place now has a daily vegan menu! The daily menu is nothing too inspired or creative and is kind of reminiscent of what one can get at a lot of other middle eastern and mediterranean places around town. That said, the items on the menu, the ones I've had at least, are tasty (the Pita Place food truck is also legit). The awesome part is that one doesn't have to play 20 questions about menu items with the folks taking orders, one can order straight off the vegan menu! I know it's crazy but this is still quite a novelty in Tulsa, a whole vegan menu. The menu features a few items that are prepared with Violife feta cheese (vegan). This stuff is amazing. One would be remiss were one to leave without trying this stuff. So try it. Pita Place sells packages of it as well. I picked a couple up and had my wife sample it. Overpriced, mediocre, inadequately maintained lunch buffet! It is $12.95 for all you can eat (doesn't include the drink). It would better be described as for all you can eat of whatever you can find left on the buffet bar. There were only a few grilled vegetables, there was no chicken left in the curried chicken, there was no beef in the beef and eggplant stew (only a few pieces of eggplant left). The buffet bar was down to mostly rice (lots of rice), curried potatoes, pita meat and salads. The hummus was the most tasteless I have ever had. Nothing tasted bad; it was all just mediocre food that was not worth the price, in my opinion We were here at 12:30. There were only a few diners in the restaurant. I assumed that because of the "local favorite restaurant awards" this restaurant has received, that it would be packed at lunch time.
