One of the IDL eateries that most of Tulsa misses because they are only open M-F, 11-2, meaning they cater pretty exclusively to the downtown lunch crowd. Simple Greek fare, gyros, chicken and eggplant, or combinations along with some daily specials, cabbage rolls, etc. Dinners available in small or large, and with a beverage from the self serve fountain, a large plate is just under $10. Dinner served with rice (white or vegetable), plus and your choice of two of tabouli, cucumber salad or steamed vegetables. I had the large gyro plate, tabouli, vegetable rice and steamed vegetables. Ample serving of gyro meat, which made this a good value for the $....but... This is set up to get you food fast, so we're not talking cook to order. Gyro meat was precut off the spool and served out of a warmer, as we're all hot entree's. Steamed vegetables overdone, and in a pool of water on my styrofoam plate which is a big negative for me. Vegetable rice was ok, but IMO needed more vegetables and more flavor to set it apart. TZATZIKI sauce containers diminutive, ask for a couple. Lots of folks got chicken, which I don't eat, so it may have been great, I don't know. It was grilled on a stick and served out of warmers too. Staff was friendly, and although I came after the noon rush, everything seemed pretty clean. I was able to walk here, order, eat, and walk back to the office in 30 minutes without being rushed. Overall, 3-1/2, but I can't give that, so I have to round up. 4 stars for $value, 3 stars flavors, but with the understanding the food is served that way to serve quick, which is important for the lunch crowd. Guys, this place is incredible. This is the best gyro Tulsa has to offer and it is as good as the ones I had in NYC. One, it is in downtown next to the historic Mayo hotel so cool spot. Two, the prices are very reasonable!! Those two plates were $17, total! I was stuffed after finishing mine. Gyro Plate, get the gyro plate! The owner is very kind too. COVID concerns? Greeted with a smile. Got there before the crowds hit. Helpful staff; described menu items. All dinner same price $7.39 with two sides. Got the Greek Lasagna with cucumber salad and tabouli. Lasagna was meaty, with a top layer of soft noodle/potato with seasonings. Liked the cucumber salad, and tabouli was delicious. Older décor, but clean so was comfortable. Cleanliness and Hygiene are Dire! First the good. I have enjoyed the food on almost every occasions I've visited and I've visited at least 10 times. However, on a couple of occasions I've had to correct the owner (the older guy with the moustache) regarding this constant habit he has of taking his forefinger and thumb and pinching the columella of his nose and then grabbing pita bread slices with that same filthy hand and tossing it on your food on the plate or carryout container! Disgusting and a health hazard! He still does it constantly. It's like he has a mild case of Tourette's Syndrome and this constant nose picking is a "tic". A Tic is a medical term for a person that has a constant physical or verbal habit that they can't stop. I last few times I visited I requested "no pita bread" for this reason. I haven't been in a while for this reason because it dawned on me that they hand mix (with no gloves) the vegetable rice which was delicious. He has stated how long he's been in business and really should know better and since I've talked to him at least twice about the problem and he continues to pick his nose and immediately handle food without washing or gloves. This is a little mom and pop place. They have signs advertising their gyros, but what caught my eye was a sign saying.their special was a cabbage roll. Now I grew up eating German cabbage rolls (cooked cabbage, ground beef and onions inside a bread pocket) but interested to see what a Greek cabbage roll was like. Although it was not like the German cabbage roll, it was still good. Basically it was ground beef and rice wrapped in a cabbage leaf. It was then covered in marinara sauce. I got two rolls for my money and they were really good. The marinara sauce was a little.weak. It came with two sides and I got "steamed" veggies (that had been sitting in hot water to keep them warm) and tobuli (which was dressed in some type of vinegar dressing). I was not impressed with the sides. I think next time I will try the gyro. The place was clean and the staff friendly enough. Not a bad place for lunch. read more

Stumbled across this place in downtown. Good, solid option for a quick and relatively healthy lunch. For only $6.50 I got two chicken kabobs/skewers, cucumber salad, tabouli, and jasmine rice. I will say my biggest piece of advice is to know what you want because the man behind the counter is not very patient with new-timers who are reviewing the menu, even if there is literally no one behind you! I have to give this restaurant five stars because my family is originally Persian (Iranian) Armenian, and he cooks like my Grandmother and Aunts. The white rice is very authentic and his tabouli is a perfect balance of flavors. Some Americans think tabouli should have a strong flavor of vinegar or parsley. Not so the "real" stuff. The eggplant is an excellent mixture of flavors and just the juice spooned over the rice is a delight. The Hummus is great, too. Gyros is gyros as far as I am concerned - Greek street food. But even there, the accompanying sides make it an exceptional choice and you will not go away hungry if you order the dinner. Not to take away from other good restaurants in the area, but I far prefer this to any other Middle Eastern restaurant in Tulsa. read more

My boyfriend and I eat at this place pretty frequently since we started to work across the street. The man who is normally working the counter is such a sweetheart and really cares about his customers and is absolutely pleasant to talk to and order from, but I wish I could say the same about 2 of his female employees. My boyfriend and I attempted to go there for lunch today but were were immediately turned away by the female sitting down in the back telling "we're closed!" But the door wasn't locked. So I looked at my boyfriend and asked him "since when did they close at 2 on a Tuesday?" Well, the female in the back said rudely under her breath but loud enough so that I would hear her " we've been closing at 2 for over ten years!" I opened the door and told her "well sorry I didn't know that." And my boyfriend and I walked away to get our lunch at the sub shop next door. Seeing as I am not even from Oklahoma, I moved here in November from New Jersey and had only worked at this building for less than a month, I would have never known that they close that early. Needless to say, him and I will no longer patronize this business and suggest that the employees learn how treat their customers with respect and learn how to inform customers without being ignorant and rude. read more

I love this place. I have never been disappointed and I try to eat there once a week. The staff is always friendly and the service is always prompt- which is something that is not easy to find when working in a busy downtown atmosphere. I did not even know that I liked Greek food until I saw a co-worker eating a take-out box and it smelled and looked amazing, I had to ask what it was and where it was from. Ever since that day, I have ordered the "5 Vegetable & Chicken Dinner" which comes with two sides and pita bread. It is amazing. A great little gem of a place! My colleague and I stopped in for lunch before a meeting. The gyro plate was just the right size and not pricey either. The tabouli is excellent and has a strong (not overpowering) garlic taste. The meat was seasoned just right. My only two caveats: the veggies were steamed and they were a bit too watery. With about 10 menu items, it is a cafeteria line style place (grab a tray, move down the line,pick what u want) but don't let this scare u, this is my husband and I's favorite lunchtime spot in Tulsa! For round $6-$7, U can get a small gyro plate (ample: white/brown rice, gyro's meat, pita, tabouli, stemmed veggies or marinated veggies sparce: yogurt sauce) ask for 2. They also offer chk kabobs,cabbage rolls, smothered chicken (the smother is excellent, but if u get there after 12:30, the chk get kinda dry)and a few others. They offer fountain sodas. The owner is always there (short sleeved shirt,tie and pomp hairdo) very nice and he will remember u after a while and usually know what u want. My husband and I don't even work downtown but every friday we take long lunches and drive downtown. We have lived in big cities, and eaten lots of greek/lebonese food and we still really like this one. This is located in Downtown Tulsa and gets a huge crowd from the employees in the surrounding buildings. Their gyros and cabbage rolls are awesome - but you may want to avoid the veggies - they are sitting in hot water to "steam" them but get the marinated veggies. Tabouli is great and so is the hummus.
