I was really craving a gyro - real American gyro ON THE SPIT (I don't care for the pre-sliced stuff). I read some of these great reviews here and went immediately. I'm so glad I did. IT WAS SO GOOD. I was really impressed by the pita, which they make to order. It was DELICIOUS. I ate the whole thing before I could take a picture. Why don't I have a place like this by my house?? Super nice folks and very good food! We stopped while on a road trip - based on yelp reviews, like always - and Catoosa didn't disappoint!

It should be called "The Cordial Deli" The couple that operates this deli are the friendliest most sincere people you will ever meet. They know everyone that comes through the door. Most every local customer they know by their first name. Never been there? By the time you have finished placing your order they will know you too. There is a lot of manufacturing plants in the area. It is "the" lunch spot for the workers. Delivery drivers coming and going to the various plants, purposely time their deliveries before the 3pm closing, so they can have lunch here. The little deli gets busy. The food and service are excellent. We had the same meal we had 5 years ago, the Gyro Platter. Over the last several years, I have tried many of these small hybrid Mediterranean/burger, chili, spud, spaghetti joints in the Tulsa area. Time for a retake and I have to put the Catoosa Deli at the top of my list for the friendliest, tastiest, small, mom and pop owned deli. This cordial little deli is the best! read more

This was our first time and will definitely be put into our dining rotation. Clean and brightly lit interior. We were immediately welcomed, very friendly. I chose the gyro platter and my husband had a sub sandwich. Every item on my platter was very fresh and flavorful. There was definitely enough food for a very filling lunch. Excellent seasoning on every item. My husband said his sandwich was very good and even commented how fresh the bread was (they bake it daily). My fiancé and I were driving from Chicago back to Phoenix and we just happened to be passing Tulsa. Rather than stopping in a fast food chain, we decided to try a local spot, and were beyond satisfied with the food, the customer service, and the overall atmosphere. I think the restaurant used to be a Subway and this family did a great job, converting it into their own little Mediterranean deli/sandwich shop! Nothing but smiles all around in this shop! From the moment we walked in, the owners were very welcoming, and wanted to know if we had ever been there before. They even gave us a free slice of baklava when they found out we were just visitors passing through. They were extremely polite with every single person that came in (surprisingly at least 20 customers within 15-20 minutes that we were there). I got the Gyro plate and my fiancé got the hot chicken sandwich with a few added ingredients. Both meals were incredibly satisfying and tasty! Not to mention, their sandwich bread is made in Shop, Fresh, and daily! It was so fluffy, and flavorful! I've never been to Tulsa, however, next time we do pass through... I've been here a couple of times for lunch during the work week. I really enjoy the Greek platter. The meat is not overcooked, the rice is delicious, perfectly fluffy. Their dolmas are good, nicely balanced tabouli, the hummus is not too thick or too runny. All in all this a great option for lunch, I will keep coming back for more. read more
