Dinner on 7/20, sat at the bar with a buddy. I've been to Pita Wheel many of times, this was my first visit to their Belmont location. The restaurant itself wasn't very busy, but was clean, open and the lighting and temperature were both good. After a quick chat with the bartender I ordered a burger, tricked up a bit, side of fries and a cold beer.Nicole was our bartender and she did great, friendly & knowledgeable about the menu. Burger was cooked perfectly and arrived as I ordered it and timely. Burger was juicy and flavorful, bun was fresh & soft. Fries were good too. The show stealer was the onion rings my buddy ordered and I snuck a few. Hands down the best onion rings I've had. Nice crunch from the breading and no overbearing onion flavor or soggy onion. Absolutely better than the fries and my new go to side item. Great job!

Got the Main St burger and it was burnt... fries ok

Cute town, cute restaurant. Casual, inviting and great food! With sketches of Cheech and Chong (younger folks won't know them) and a bar tap area that has the front end of a Volkswagen, this place has it all. Special drinks and beer can accommodate most people. My wife had a Carmel Apple mimosa while I had a local NC beer. They have daily drink specials. The service was awesome and the people are so nice. The menu has something for everyone. We shared the chicken pesto club wrap and some kettle chips. Can you say YUM!!! The whole combination works so well. Er have been here before and will definitely be back.

So happy to have a Pita Wheel closer to me now! We love this local spot for solid food, beers and something the kids will enjoy! The kids always love their corn dog and Mac and cheese, so that's a staple in our order. Then my husband and I switch it up from time to time. Our staples are usually the various cheesesteak pitas with either the house chips or fried pickles (they're both delish and you get a heaping portion). Today I went with the buffalo chicken pita. It was good, but the marinated chicken was on the dry side, so I was glad for the buffalo sauce. I hope this location does well, because I love having this spot close to home (even though the Gastonia location is cool too).

Met our niece and her husband here on a beautiful October Saturday. We loved the menu, the outdoor seating option, and the food. The service was good, and we will definitely be back. Everyone enjoyed the restaurant. The pita is soft and delicious. They have a new cocktail menu as well.

Steak & Pimento with sweet potato fries

Yum!!! I was very surprised how much I enjoyed this place and can't wait to go back! It was absolutely delicious. I ordered the pimento philly pita. The shaved sirloin is some of the best I've ever had. It was the star of the show by far. The sweet potato fries weren't bad. But I could eat a pita and just be good! I also tried the Cheech and Chong philly which was equally amazing. The service was great. The drinks were interesting and very fun to try. I liked both of mine! They also have an outdoor area, plenty of beer choices and ample parking in the lot across the street. I recommend this place!

The atmosphere, service, simple and sweet selection and Key Lime coctail was just fun. The original Gyro was good, friend pickles tasty, but the mac & cheese side needs an upgrade to bigger noodles than Kraft.

I'd been here once before late night in the taproom with the smaller bar menu. That experience was fine. Not amazing, not bad--decent food, decent drinks, decent service. Very low-key and very different from this visit. So when we were nearby again before heading out to see Christmas lights, it felt like an easy, familiar option. Unfortunately, this time was a completely different story. Service was extremely slow from the start. It took nearly 30 minutes just to get drinks and an appetizer, and water refills were basically nonexistent. I eventually got up and refilled our water myself while watching the server refill other tables. We were there for almost 2.5 hours, which felt excessive given the pace and crowd level. Food was all over the place. Three meals had to be sent back. My BLT showed up with maybe two strips of limp bacon, soggy toast, wilted lettuce, and red peppers instead of the onions I asked for. Rather than remaking it, they just brought out two more equally limp strips of bacon. Two burgers ordered medium/medium-rare came out well done--even though the menu clearly shows doneness levels with photos, which made that miss even more confusing. On the bright side, the potato soup was excellent--probably the best thing we had--but it arrived lukewarm after a long wait. Other dishes like the scallops, Cajun Alfredo, and chicken sandwich were genuinely good, which just added to the confusion. A manager did drop off food and briefly acknowledge the issues, but there was no real apology or follow-up. I don't expect comps, but with this many problems and slow service, the lack of accountability was noticeable. Used plates from appetizers and sides that were clearly finished sat on the table for most of the meal. When dishes were cleared, the server often asked people who were still actively eating rather than removing the empty or stacked plates that were ready to go, which only added to the overall lack of attention and awareness. Between the inconsistent food, very slow service, and an overall lack of attention to detail, this visit just didn't work. It seems like one of those places where you might get a great meal--or you might spend hours wondering what went wrong. For now, it's firmly in the meh, proceed with caution category for me.

This is our second visit here, and our first time with the dinner menu. There were lots of great choices! We tried the hush puppies appetizer and the deviled eggs to start. Great presentation and delicious. For entrees we went with the chicken and gravy, fish tacos and the love bug smash burger. Huge portions and really really good. We were very full afterward. We wanted to have a little more leisurely time there, maybe try a dessert, but we had to be at an event, so there was a time constraint. Overall, this is a great spot in downtown Belmont. Also, this is Jonas family owned restaurant so check out all the music memorabilia by the restrooms.

We started with the pimento cheese fries, which were easily the highlight of the meal. They were flavorful, well-prepared, and set a great first impression. Unfortunately, things went downhill from there. The service was noticeably slow, and our food took quite a while to arrive. I ordered the fried chicken, and it was significantly overcooked. The chicken was dry, and the breading was so dark it was just shy of being burnt. The mashed potatoes on the side were good, but they couldn't make up for the quality of the main dish. My wife ordered the chicken fried steak with roasted carrots. The steak itself was quite good, but the carrots never arrived with the meal. They were brought out long after we had finished eating, which made them feel like an afterthought. For dessert, my wife chose the peach cobbler. It appeared to be served with ice cream, but by the time it reached the table, the ice cream had completely melted. The dessert looked more like peach cobbler floating in a bowl of melted ice cream than a properly plated dessert. Whether it sat too long before being served or was prepared incorrectly, it was not particularly appealing. The one bright spot throughout the evening was our server. He was attentive, checked on us regularly, and kept our drinks refilled. Unfortunately, good service alone wasn't enough to overcome the slow pace and disappointing food quality. Based on this visit, the overall dining experience was subpar. Aside from the pimento cheese fries and a few individual items, the meal did not live up to expectations.

Fun to see the old theater and the kids with us enjoyed looking around. The music was a little loud, but we did let the server know and they did turn it down for us. We had a group 8. The food was good, maybe a little small in portions. We almost all ordered the crab cake Benedict and the ham Benedict. We also ordered the cheesecake, the crème brûlée and the coconut cake. They were all really good, but I would note the crème brûlée had I believe tea in it? It wasn't just a traditional flavor but it was delicious! I do want to comment on experience. I was with my 8 month old son, who can't eat runny eggs. I ordered the crab cake Benedict and I asked to swap the poached egg to scrambled egg so I could share with my son. The server let me know he was going to check with the chef. He came back right before the plate was dropped off and said "The chef will not be doing that substitution for you". I acknowledge this is an abnormal substitution for eggs Benedict, but I was surprised and disappointed that the chef couldn't make this simple accommodation.

At noon on Sunday it was jammed, so I ambled in and sat at the bar with a bunch of strangers. They weren't strangers by the time I left. The ambiance is really, really welcoming. Things I loved about Mother's before I even took a bite: the friendly staff (the bartenders were affable despite the crowds!), the "get breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner anytime" menu, the extensive drinks menu and the flexibility of ordering. Example: the bartender worked with the gentleman to my left to cobble together his à la carte choices into the least expensive meal. So, so accommodating! I had trouble deciding what to order and ended up choosing something the lady to my right had ordered: Melissa's Steak Benny. I'd been craving eggs Benedict and it seemed like a solid choice. At the last moment, I swapped out the hash browns for grits, despite the hash browns looking crispy and delicious, as I'm more a grits girl. Best decision of the day. Best grits I have had in Charlotte. Hands down. Perfectly flavored with without a trace of residue from the butter or cheese it contained. So good I didn't even add my usual hot sauce! (And btw, they have an array of hot sauces available alongside the usual salt and pepper at the table.) As for the dish, I was a little dubious about the drizzle of A1 steak sauce atop the hollandaise, but boy, was I wrong. The smokiness of the steak sauce softened the richness of the hollandaise and was brilliant with the sautéed onions and mushrooms. The hanger steak was prepared (close to) medium rare as requested, and I highly recommend not going past medium because hanger steak is easy to overcook. (My neighbor's plate was delivered well done and had to be sent back, with lots of apologies from the staff; she said despite the sauce it was far too chewy.) I ended up being able to cut my steak with my fork, always a sign of the good stuff, and the English muffin was toasted enough that it didn't turn to mush at all, not even the last bite. I cleaned my plate. A note about brunch: on the weekends be patient because it's super busy, but if you show up in pajamas before noon, your meal is discounted 20%. Honestly, what more can you ask, getting rewarded by showing up in comfy clothes?!? Mother's immediately became my go-to brunch place; I don't drink much but the Bloody Mary there is calling my name. I can't wait to go back, perhaps for supper.
