Very fresh food. Home made sauces Casual and friendly. Nice outdoor patio with picnic tables and umbrellas Garage door open the inside to outside. They make really good drinks. Unique and fresh Very reasonable prices. The pitas are the stars here but everything is good Gyros is pretty authentic with the homemade tzatziki sauce The Reuben is good too. On street parking a favorite for locals. As good as the other locations

We stopped by Pita Wheel after a trip to Crowders mountain. It was close to 60 degrees out and a sunny afternoon, so the patio was nearly full. We had our pup with us and were glad there were still some open tables. Our waitress was great and offered a bowl of water for our girl first thing. I had the Grecian chicken pita with sweet potato fries. The lettuce, tomato and tzatziki added a fresh taste to the pita. The opinions were good but saucy and made it a little messy. I'll leave them off next time. My husband had the Reuben and onion rings and really enjoyed both of them. (The onion rings were SO GOOD!! ) There was plenty of parking in the lot next door. We are glad to have stumbled across Pita Wheel and will make it a regular stop after hiking!

Featuring one of the said roaches.

We found two roaches in the restaurant. One crawling on the wall in the kitchen and one at the floor at our table, we ordered drinks and food and canceled our order maybe 5 minutes later. The staff tried to make us pay for our food when we didn't even eat it. We had to pay for drinks, no discount for the inconvenience. The waitress was quite rude to us after we asked to cancel the order because of the cockroaches. Will not be going to this establishment again.

Awesome spot! The Epic Wrap is fantastic! The Steak and Cheese options are very solid too. Tasty Fries and Onion rings with "Chipotle Aioli" sauce. Good for young kids. My Son's favorite grilled cheese!

Plastic piece in my pita....

We door dashes pit wheel and it was just ok. We ordered the truffle fries and there was no truffle present just fries with parm. How ever they did leave a plastic piece in my pita... not impressed.

Got the Main st burger with sweet potato fries.

This is definitely the local hangout spot. I got the Cheech & Chong and their beer special was $1 off all North Carolina beers on Monday. Very laid-back place with great staff, who is very friendly and chatty. They definitely made you feel like one of the locals! I substituted the onion rings for french fries and they were homemade but definitely pretty breaded. The Cheech and Chong was delicious and way more food than I could finish myself. Tons of great flavor and a place I will definitely be stopping in again.

This was a fun laid back place. We chose it because it was near where we went hiking. It is a converted gas station. We stepped inside and were greeted right away and pleasantly. We choose to sit outside they have picnic tables that could use some updating. Drink and food order taken quickly. It was beautiful outside. They had a bar inside with TVs it is small but good place to get quick bite and watch the game. We ordered Chicago Reuben sandwich and Falafel sandwich with fries and sweet potato fries with sweet tea. The food was very good. We would go back. Our food was $32.91 our server Insley was great.

Sometimes simple of the way to go. Lettuce, American Cheese, tomatoes, crinkled pickles, onions, and their "good good sauce." This all came together with the 100% premium angus beef (antibiotic and hormone free) smash-burgers perfectly cooked. The fried were very good, nicely crispy, but not overdone. Service was friendly and very quick. I highly recommend this place if you want a great burger.

Optimist Hall itself is a very food-centric, upscale food hall with a ton of vendors, so the atmosphere is energetic and fun. Seating can be a little challenging during peak dinner hours since so many people are grabbing food from different spots, but when the weather is nice there's plenty of outdoor seating. Harriet's keeps their burger formula refreshingly simple. It's a classic smash burger done right--made to order with a straightforward menu that doesn't overcomplicate things. There's usually a line, but it moves pretty quickly, and the burgers come out hot and fresh. One of the best parts of eating here is the flexibility of the food hall experience. While you're waiting, you can grab a craft beer, a glass of wine, or even browse for dessert from one of the other vendors. Insider tip: Come with a group if you can. It's a great place to share fries and let everyone explore different vendors around the hall. Parking is fairly easy with the nearby garage, which makes the whole experience even more convenient. Overall, Harriet's is a fun, delicious stop for a smash burger, especially if you're already enjoying the energy of Optimist Hall.

As a West Coast transplant now living in Charlotte, I have very specific standards when it comes to…read moreburgers. For me, the gold standard isn't fancy -- it's balance. Think that perfect meat-cheese-bread ratio you get at an In-N-Out: not too big, not too messy, not dripping everywhere, but still juicy and satisfying. A burger you can actually pick up and enjoy without resorting to a knife and fork like George Costanza. That's why I appreciate Ace No. 3. Their menu is refreshingly simple -- burgers, fries, shakes -- and that simplicity tells me they know exactly what they do well. Everything is made to order, and the consistency shows. The Ace burger is my go-to, and it delivers every time. The shoestring fries are excellent, and the sweet potato tots are another favorite. I've also treated myself to a milkshake here and there, and they're worth it. Fun bonus: they offer "boozy shakes" for adults, which adds a playful twist -- just note they have to be enjoyed on site. They also keep a short, rotating list of beers, which I appreciate. It's curated, not overwhelming. One thing I noticed recently -- and as a fellow marketer, I have to applaud this -- is their milkshake happy hour from 2-4 PM. That's a smart strategy to drive traffic during slower hours between lunch and dinner. Simple, effective, and well executed. A few practical notes: Parking can be a little tight because the lot behind the restaurant is small, but if you go during off-peak hours or order ahead for pickup, it's manageable. The Belmont neighborhood location is easy to get in and out of, and while it's not a high-traffic pedestrian area, that can actually work in your favor. Bottom line: As someone who grew up with West Coast burger culture, this is the closest I've found in Charlotte to that classic, satisfying bite -- even if it costs a bit more than In-N-Out. The quality and execution make it worth it. Get out there, eat well, be curious -- and follow me as I continue eating my way through Charlotte.

I absolutely enjoyed our Sunday Brunch here!!!!…read more First let me say it's an old movie they turned into a restaurant. Just love it. If you get asked if you want to sit downstairs or upstairs I would totally say upstairs. The ambiance and views up there is so nice. Certain seats you can see right down into the kitchen and other seats give a great view to a movie screen which movies are playing. Love it! The service was great. Very attentive and super friendly. Started the meal with some drinks of course, so cute the drinks named after famous movies. Got the cheesy bread, this is a must please don't go and NOT order this. I could have just ate a plate of these and been satisfied. The bread was so good and packed with oozed out cheese! I went with two what they call first plates for my meal..the meatballs with polenta and fried green tomatoes! The meatballs were good, I enjoyed the polenta, was creamy and had good flavor. The fried green tomatoes, BOMB. They were seasoned and fried perfectly. Then came with charred corn which was soooo good and topped with smoked pork belly! Soon and the plate sat in front of me you could smell the smoke, killer dish! Rest of the table had, a burger, the big short, a omelette stuffed with short ribs and topped with kimchi, and charbroiled chicken with brown rice, pesto and blistered tomatoes. Everything was very good. On top of the fried green tomatoe dish, I also loved the short rib omelette. The short ribs were so good! Sweet, smokey with Asian seasoning. Stuffed in an egg, yea can't go wrong! The restaurant is in Gastonia a little drive from Charlotte, but I would make that drive again and again, spot is that good.

Fun to see the old theater and the kids with us enjoyed looking around. The music was a little loud, but we did let the server know and they did turn it down for us. We had a group 8. The food was good, maybe a little small in portions. We almost all ordered the crab cake Benedict and the ham Benedict. We also ordered the cheesecake, the crème brûlée and the coconut cake. They were all really good, but I would note the crème brûlée had I believe tea in it? It wasn't just a traditional flavor but it was delicious! I do want to comment on experience. I was with my 8 month old son, who can't eat runny eggs. I ordered the crab cake Benedict and I asked to swap the poached egg to scrambled egg so I could share with my son. The server let me know he was going to check with the chef. He came back right before the plate was dropped off and said "The chef will not be doing that substitution for you". I acknowledge this is an abnormal substitution for eggs Benedict, but I was surprised and disappointed that the chef couldn't make this simple accommodation.
