This location in the south side opened just a couple of weeks ago so of course my trusty sidekick and I had to try it out and wow what a flavor explosion! The fish and all the other ingredients were so fresh and delish and the person helping us was very patient and gave us great recommendations! I really didn't think I'd like mango in our classic burrito or in the Pittsburgh poke bowl but just do it - it was a nice balance to the heat we had in both dishes. Lots of space to eat and location and as nice and clean - want to come back for sure and try more !

Fish was spoiled, Tasted very fishy and had to throw it out. It was really gross. Sushi looked good, but it the fish was rancid.

IF YOURE WONDERING "is this the same poke place that was downtown by the McDonalds"? IT IS. SAME OWNERS AND TEAM. i could not be more happy that they are back in service. the food is just as good as I remember it - fresh, tasty, and lots of awesome. the space is also a lot bigger than their downtown location too. i'm so happy they are back.

I ordered through postmates and got a wildly incorrect order (though correct enough to know that it was still mine). The food that I did get was very tasty! The vegetarian and vegan options are lovely and I've been on the search for a good sushi burrito since I moved here a year ago. Unfortunately, the tamago sashimi I ordered was not included. The burrito I ordered was almost delivered, but as a bowl instead of a burrito. A surprise additional sushi burrito was included but, unfortunately, my partner and I do not eat meat and fish so we had to give it to neighbours. The food that did arrive was very good, but I do wish that more attention to detail was there.

They had me at 'sushi burrito'! Went in and there was no one there which allowed me to really look things over. I got the burrito with tuna and salmon, white rice and a bunch of veggies. I don't know if the bowls are less food, but this burrito was HUGE. And for the price, it's a deal. You would normally get a single sushi roll for $11 and this burrito is more food than a single roll. I got a side of the seaweed salad to try. It was a nice side for the burrito. I highly recommend going. I will definitely be back when I'm in town.

This is one my favorite places to get lunch in downtown Pittsburgh. I love burritos - I love sushi - so unsurprisingly, I love the sushi burritos here! I admittedly haven't been able to break my burrito addiction and order any actual poke bowls yet. Soon though! This eatery may look plain and simple, but don't let that appearance fool you or scare you off. This place is home to some quality food, as well as very good staff who can keep a line moving and make you smile with their delicious creations. Although, I guess it's really YOUR creations, since you can pick what goes in your burrito or bowl! Currently I usually order one of the pre-set menu options because it's a great combination (Spicy tuna, salmon, cucumber, avocado, spicy mayo wrapped in sushi rice, sesame seeds and nori.). But for those of you who want something more: the sushi burritos work the same as their poke bowls. You can choose a base (rice, greens, quinoa, or half & half), two or three proteins, plus your mix-ins and sauces. The staff will put your order together similar to a Chipotle ordering line, and you'll be ready to dine! As others have mentioned, this place is small, so it's best to come early or to be ready to carry your food out to eat elsewhere. And if you're totally new to the poke/sushi burrito game, their four pre-set menu options can help you get familiar with the process and the flavors you can combine. So go forth and create your meals, my friends - and enjoy!

I came here on a Monday right before they were closing and the waitress was so nice to take my to go order and allow me to still place an order. I ordered the poke bowl with all raw fish : tuna and salmon, as well as, a sushi burrito. The food was phenomenal and I will most definitely return again in the near future.

Made a bowl with seared tuna, rice, greens, mango, avacodo, carrots, cucumber, edamame, corn, fried onions with ginger sauce. Tasty n healthy. Love this place.

Clean and quiet. Service was incredible and fast. The food does not disappoint either. The pork belly buns are INCREDIBLE! The Crab Rangoon are delicious. The wrapper is thin but crispy and the filling is better than any other ones I've ever had. All of the sushi rolls I've ordered have not disappointed either. I can't recommend this place more. It's so good I've ordered from them on a Friday and again on Sunday. Definitely worth it!

My prayers have been answered! I thought only "trendy" cliché cities like NYC or LA would have poke bowl/sushi burrito places, but when I found out that this little hole in the wall existed, right in the center of downtown PGH, and a mere 800 ft from my apartment, I was jumping with joy! The establishment isn't anything fancy, just a grab-n-go place set up like a Subway or Chipotle. First, you choose your base- white rice/brown rice/quinoa/mixed greens, then pick your protein-seared or spicy tuna, salmon, seared salmon, tofu or chicken, then veggies, sauces and toppings. Overall, extremely filling! A great post workout meal with all the protein. I've only been there twice, but my favorite is the salmon and seared tuna with quinoa/mixed greens base, with cucumber, red cabbage, mango, cilantro, avocado, red onion, seaweed salad, fried onions, house spicy miso with spicy mayo and nori flakes. Have yet to try the sushi burrito but will save that for a day I can afford to binge on carbs ;). I suggested that they start a frequent customer punchcard for those who eat here frequently (like I know I will be!). Hopefully they do something like that soon, with it being $12-$13 a bowl. Thanks Pittsburgh Poke, for existing!

Found this little gem near market square. The outer exterior of the restaurant is humble but don't let that sway you away because the food is great. We ordered two items on our recent visit -- the house bowl 2 and house burrito 1. The portions were generous especially the rice. The only change I would make next time is to ask for less rice and to switch the white rice to brown rice. The seafood in both the dishes were delicious and the sauces drizzled on top added a nice touch. The lady who prepared our dishes was quite fast and so I guess this is fast food in a way but not in the typical sense because the food is healthy. Carb heavy but you can definitely customize your bowl/burrito the way you want. Delicious! 5 stars hands down.

    Salmon nigiri

My boyfriend ordered through door dash the first time today. We eat sushi very often and I have never smelled fish more awful. The nigiri was just a mountain of rice with three pieces of fish on top and the tobiko looked like something I have never seen before. The "tobiko" seems like freezer burnt ikura, and once again the smell is unlike anything I've had with sushi before. Just opening the containers my fingers stink. Never again

Good food and decent service for my takeout. That said, no AC indoors means it's not somewhere I would eat inside.

We didn't see much of the inside because we chose the option to enjoy our meal outside in the garden. Fortunately, we were able to snag a 5:30 PM reservation a couple Fridays ago. My friend set up notification alerts on Resy and a different party canceled their reservation the day before. This restaurant is very popular. KHAO YUM - 24 This is a 17 ingredient salad with tamarind dressing. I'm not usually a salad person, but this one was incredibly delicious and refreshing. Lots of crispy textures from the various vegetables, some juicy, tart and bitter pieces of grapefruit, and the crispy rice was the perfect fried carb on top. A bit pricy, but a great app to share for the whole table. CRISPY SHRIMP - 32 We were each able to get two pieces of shrimp among the four of us. The shrimp was batter and fried with a sweet garlicky glaze. While it was crispy and juicy, I thought it was a bit too saucy. It wasn't my favorite, but one of my friends really enjoyed the shrimp -- sauce and all. KHAO SOI - 48 The red and yellow curry was flavorful, and the egg noodles were perfectly soft with a bit of chew. The wagyu beef cheek was tender, but there wasn't much in it. Overall, I thought this was a bit too overpriced for what it was. MASSAMAN CURRY - 48 Incredibly phenomenal The massaman curry was incredibly rich with its sweet and savory flavor. Each order came with a whole lamb shank. The meat was incredibly tender and flavorful -- it fell off the bone with ease. I highly recommend this entree for its delicious curry and lamb. Overall, pricy food with a elegant aesthetic. It's also more of fusion Thai food than it is authentic. Can definitely see why this is one of the more popular and well-loved restaurants in Pittsburgh!

We had a horrible culinary experience the past couple of days driving through West Virginia, Ohio, and western New York. Pittsburgh was our last stop before heading home and Kiin Lao and Thai Eatery made up for all of the culinary disappointment this weekend. Let's talk about the ambiance first. Everything about this restaurant was quite beautiful. When I say beautiful, I don't mean it in an elegant way, but an artsy street vibe way. It is hip, clean, and we'll put together. You can tell a lot of love went into the decorations and into every piece of art on its walls. The service was pretty good. The server herself was attentive when needed and left us alone when needed. The food was AWESOME. We got the papaya combo with the Thum Mak Houng option, curry puffs, grilled pork shoulder with sticky rice, and Pad Gra Prow Street Style. The papaya was "lao-style" made with fermented shrimp paste. If you love deep umami flavors, this is it for you. The papaya salad was pungent and sour and savory spicy and just so satisfying. We asked for a 6/10 spiciness and they came with the heat. The chicken skewers that came with it was flavorful too. A little bit of char on the chicken would've brought it over the top. The curry puffs were so comforting and had that south Asian flavor profile that was very welcomed. The curry and spice blend did not overwhelm the potatoes. Instead it enhanced the earthy potato flavors in the best way possible. The menu said that it came with a cucumber sauce but I don't think we got that. What we got was a more like a honey sauce. The sauce was good in itself but didn't pair well with the puffs. The grilled pork shoulder was delectable. The meat was tender and it was seasoned perfectly. Again, more char on the meat would've brought it to a new level. The only gripe I have with this order was the sticky rice. The amount of sticky rice you get with it was so small I thought it was a joke initially. Nope, it was not! I thought the Pad Gra Prow Street Style was OKAY. I would've made it a little saucier. Despite this, my significant other absolutely LOVED it. Pad Gra Prow was my significant other's favorite dish when she lived overseas. She said that this was the best Pad Gra Prow she has had on this side of the world. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. We would definitely come by again when we are back this way.
