Well let's start with positives. The decor is nice and the service is excellent. You order from an all you can eat menu for a very inexpensive price. I'm sure you can get à la carte also, but I chose AYCE. The sushi comes extremely fast-positive and negative! Now the negatives and why I will not go back. This is the first time in all my 31 years of eating raw sushi that I have had warm rice. This is why it coming so fast is positive and negative. They are serving so much that they are constantly cooking rice. I was excited about the bar where you can grab your salads, including seaweed and squid. Luckily I had my fill before what I thought was a kid dragging their oversized sweatshirt sleeve all over as she was helping herself. She turned around and it was a grown woman!! All I could think about was her grabbing it off the floor and rushing out of her house to go eat. Better yet, maybe she had sneezed or coughed in her car and used her sleeve to wipe her nose. Yes, my mind went there! Needless to say, I didn't return for more salad! This just reminded me why I do not frequent buffet style restaurants. Yes, I ate more than pictured but the other didn't come out well.

We visited Sushi Bomb ( first time) with a party of six to celebrate a birthday, and it was a fantastic experience! The restaurant is located in a shared parking lot, but finding a spot wasn't an issue. Inside, it's spacious and welcoming--plenty of room for larger groups. The experience is an all-you-can-eat option at just $25 per person, which is a great deal for the quality. The sushi rolls were fresh and made to order, and the hibachi dishes--though prepared in the back--still came out hot, flavorful, and delicious. Pro tip: you can customize your hibachi with no rice or all broccoli, which is a nice touch. Everyone in our group left full, happy, and already talking about our next visit. Great food, great value, and a fun place for any celebration!

A solid all you can eat sushi spot that offers a nice variety at a very fair price. It's not gonna be the best sushi out there but definitely worth the money. I recommend getting there whenever theyopen it definitely can get pretty busy.

Sushi Bomb is an awesome AYCE sushi spot in Robinson! The restaurant is huge but if you go on a weekend, expect to wait at least an hour to sit down. The sushi is surprisingly fantastic! Sushi Bomb is great for large groups or a date night. There is no hibachi table, so don't expect a live show... just good sushi! Don't forget to order the banana roll for dessert!

I definitely recommend planning ahead and coming with a very hungry tummy! With the menu being all-you-can-eat, I suggest leaving plenty of room for the wide variety of food to try! I loved all of the sushi I had, it was so delicious. The service was really great and our server stopped by at perfect times for us to order more food. I'd love to come in here during daylight, because there are huge glass windows and the natural light would be killer! If you can eat a good bit, it's definitely worth the price!! My only complaint would be the fruit flies. There were a couple flying around us during dinner and one landed onto my friends sushi, so she lost her appetite after that.

The inside was super fancy. Very open, warm lighting. We were seated right by the line where the food is cooked so getting in and out was a little awkward. The sushi was good! Service was ok.

Oh my god this place was awesome. The sushi was so good and I literally felt like I was going to explode after. We didn't feel like leaving or giving up and the food came so quickly! Very impressed with the service and how nice the place was. Friends and family friendly

Delicious. I personally like the eel sushi and fried squid. The fried crab sticks are pretty good too. There's usually a wait on weekends.

I love this place! As far as All You Can Eat goes, they have tasty fresh food always! GREAT FLAVOR, and usually pretty quick and friendly service. Plenty of seating as well to ensure pretty quick turnover times for tables too. I LOVE sushi and this place is top notch in my opinion. The sushi is always guaranteed to fulfill my want for some yummy goodness. Its hard up here to find good sushi but at the price point you really can't beat it. There are also a bunch of other choices for food too. Great appetizers, soup, sushi and even American food choices too for the kids. I will be back!

Sushi Bomb is a casual Japanese restaurant that offers an *all-you-can-eat* menu of appetizers, sushis, and entrees (e.g., noodles, hibachi, and teriyaki). Current prices are $18 per adult for lunch (discounted for children) and $24 per adult for dinner (discounted for children). Non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages are available for an additional charge. Please see my attached photos for the menu in August 2024. In the past several months, my husband and I have eaten a few meals here. Our waiters promptly and courteously took our orders, handed over our foods, and processed our payments. Across our meals, we have eaten the miso soup, spring roll, crab rangoon, gyoza, shrimp shumai dumplings, vegetable roll, Alaska roll, salmon-lover roll, Miami roll, red-sun roll, rocking roll, king-lobster roll, spicy crabmeat roll, Hawaiian roll, hibachi vegetables, hibachi shrimp, teriyaki chicken, chicken noodles, fried rice, etcetera. We thought that these foods were not the best that we have eaten in the Pittsburgh area, but they were still very fresh and good. For the all-you-can-eat price, this restaurant can be a good bargain.

This place was Sooooo busy on a Thursday evening! We arrived around 7 and actually had a wait. The concept of "all you can eat" was very alluring, my friend and I ordered a few special sushi rolls to share, along with appetizers and soups. I will say that I was happy with the freshness of the food here, and the effectiveness of the wait staff and sushi chefs - we never waited long for food, and everything came out very fresh. The sushi was very good, I was pleased with the amount of fish provided.

Came here for dinner it's always been good every time I come here. They don't have sashimi, but they have a lot of varieties to choose from. Service is always good here as well.ambience is they have a such bar where you can see them make them. It gets really busy on weekends. Please always check in on the website to be on waiting lists otherwise sometimes you would have to wait awhile to be sit in..price is good but remember what you order you would have to finish otherwise there be a charge for left over. Highly recommended.

You could tell that the fish is low quality and not fresh. The rice to fish ratio is off because there is too much rice. Food also took a while to prepare.

Is the sushi safe for people with gluten allergies? Many soy sauces contain gluten, unless they make a point of carrying the gluten free variety.

I noticed many items on the menu that were marked as "gluten-free". I will say it was a small percentage, but there were several with a small green symbol. ;:0)

Do they cater to selfish allergies?

    Lol obv not

What time do they switch to the dinner menu?

They close at 3 pm on weekdays and open back up at 4:30. They switch to the dinner menu then. On weekends, they don't close down in the middle of the day so I don't know when exactly they make the switch-over.

Their selection of appetizers were great, and the quality of each was stellar. We attempted to try quite a few of them, and still have many we want to try. In our group, the tofu with an amazing dashi broth, the crab puffs, "sexy jalepenos", tempura kani, and the gyoza were the standouts. As I stated, though...everything we had was awesome. We all ordered a different ramen, and then shared. They were all phenomenal. The steak teriyaki was also great. Sushi wise, we didn't get to try as many as we had hoped. We were too busy reordering the appetizers. We did try the Crazy Mango roll, and ended up reordering that because it was so good. My kids were with me, and they love all things Mango, and this was phenomenal. For dessert, we had a few orders (and reorders!) of the fried bananas. Overall, I cannot speak higher of our experience. It is very clean, well kept up on, and the service was phenomenal. Quality wise, you can tell how much effort they put into the place purely on their presentation. I had to remark many times about how utterly beautiful some of their dishes were. This was not like our other AYCE experiences where they just rush food out to you. They actually put effort into their craft here, and it is quite obvious. We will definitely be back, and look forward to trying new things that we didn't get to before!

My usual order is the chicken katsu bento box, which comes with a good portion of crunchy sliced chicken katsu, rice, two dumplings, a California roll, and miso soup. It feels like a solid, filling meal with enough variety to make it satisfying. The only downside with my most recent takeout order was the sauce placed in the middle of the container. I'm not sure exactly what it was, and after tasting it, it wasn't really for me. Because of the layout of the takeout container, some of it spilled into the rice and rolls. Next time, I'd probably ask for that sauce on the side in a separate container.

It honestly raised the bar for sushi in Pittsburgh and feels like the kind of restaurant you'd expect to find in a much bigger city. Everything I've tried has been incredibly fresh and beautifully prepared. Yes, it's a splurge, but it's absolutely worth it for the quality. The restaurant is located right on Mt Washington, giving a good view of the city. The interior looks appropriate for a sushi restaurant, but due to the massive windows lacked the darker vibe of other upscale restaurants. I've been to hundreds of sushi spots and the interior was merely average. Otaru seems to struggle with its identity. It needs to either commit to being an upscale restaurant or relax and simply be a quality one. The wait staff were kind and prompt, but at times appeared they may be less experienced. We were brought hot (paper) towels and edamame. We ordered the fried tako balls as an app. I personally don't prefer tako and found it very dense and chewy and the overall flavors were too undeveloped. The hand rolls were well filled and were easy to eat due to being more of a taco configuration than a true hand roll. The nori was not too tough, lending to a pleasant experience. The nigiri and sashimi were also good. The nigiri were good, but not as elevated as another upscale sushi spot in the city. They were still very good, but not quite excellent. They either need a bit more development or to be relaxed and served as two per order and the price adjusted slightly upward. If you take one thing from this review, let it be this. The yellowtail jalepeno cups were astonishing. By far this was the most well executed dish I have ever eaten and the best sushi dish I've had. They appear to be wrapped in toasted sesame seed wrappers. If you've had Hapi mixed crackers they give the same great flavor of the "fried chicken" pieces but with yuzu vinaigrette and the umami of the fish. I will certainly be back solely because of how good they were.
