This is a local spot in Pittsburgh and also one of the very few Asian spots in the city - super solid and delicious sushi rolls jampacked with flavor! The service was nice and friendly and very fast, the rolls were huge (and so was the menu). We got the Sexy Girl Roll, Sushi Sandwich, and the Pink Lady Roll and we LOVED everything! Everything is super saucy and flavorful, and while not authentic, really satisfied our sushi craving. My only small complaint is that the individual plates and cups don't seem the cleanest - our cups still had lip stains and the plates also had remnants of food from the previous dish. Would recommend sukiyaki and yakiniku instead. Kudos to them for trying to bring new Asian cuisines to Pittsburgh and not being afraid to try new things. I am traveling. The reason I stopped in this place is because I saw it listed on Yelp's Top 100 Sushi Restaurants in the US. As of today's date (07.16.2024) it sits at #97. The ambiance is casual. You can roll in with your tank and shorts or hoodie and sweats. It looks like your typical quick service place on the inside - nothing fancy. They do have a carry out option or door dash BUT they do have a limited number of tables for dine in. The soup came out piping hot which was great! I really enjoyed the soup. The salad had lettuce and seaweed in it topped with a vinaigrette, I believe. I went with sushi options and the sushi was okay. It was passable and pleasant enough. I feel like this spot is in a good area and is definitely a nice option if you're passing through town with a craving for sushi. Several tables around me had the Sukiyaki which did look delicious, but I did not get to try it. If I ever return, that would definitely be something I tried instead of sushi! read more

I quite honestly adore this place. The food is amazing and the staff are great. I've noticed though that when I go in that there is an overwhelming smell of cleaning fluid that immediately gives me a headache. It's unfortunately like this every time I dine in. And the smell ends up making me so sick that I can't finish my food in the restaurant. Of course we as consumers want restaurants to be clean but if you're using overpowering chemicals that you can smell in the dining room, that's a little much. Yum! This is such a cute place for sushi in Squirrel Hill. We found street parking right across the street on a Wednesday evening but there is a paid parking lot under Carnegie Library you can use that's a short walk away if it's a busier day. Prices were reasonable and selections, while somewhat limited (they were out of crab Rangoon and some salmon dishes), were decent. Went back here for takeout recently. On the plus side the experience was very convenient. You can order through the website, they have a text message system that helps track your order, and our food was ready right at the desired time (you can set a 15-minute pickup window ahead of time). As for the food, I had a similar feeling as last time. The sushi is good and we enjoyed our meal. But in the end we paid $50+ for about 36 pieces of sushi and a seaweed salad. It's not like we ordered fancy sushi either (we got two basic combos and a dragon roll). Well-over $1 per piece is just too much for a place that isn't overly fancy. I usually only come for the sushi, but I will definitely be back to try the Japanese hot pot and bowls sometime! Random, small find in Squirrel Hill on a Saturday night. It really is a small restaurant, but the service was good. It got quite loud in there, but we didn't mind it. We stopped in for sushi and enjoyed every roll we had. My party of 5 ordered 7 sushi rolls, 2 house salads, salmon teriyaki, and gyoza. It was a lot of food for $125 (plus tip). They also gave us a free dessert - sesame balls - something different that we never had before. They were a little sweet and a little savory. All of the sushi was very fresh and flavorful. The rolls were put together nicely. A few things we found a bit odd - the water had no ice, they didn't offer forks (2 of my kids aren't great with chopsticks), no straws, and they put seaweed salad on top of the house salad. I have only been here for lunch and haven't tried too many of their specialty rolls, but I would say the basic rolls I have had for their lunch special are very good. I hadn't had an appetizer/side plate of tempura also in quite a long time, so I enjoyed it for all its worth on my last visit. It is a treat to have every once in awhile. There seemed to be only two people working. He sometimes has a hard time understanding English, so please be patient and kind with him, he's so sweet and loves making recommendations. I am used to stirring my poke bowls, but this was so full of spring mix, I couldn't until after I'd eaten every component of the bowl separately, which is apparently the owner's intention! If you live close enough ORDER FROM THE RESTAURANT WEBSITE! If you order for delivery from the restaurant's webpage, you'll save on the obnoxious service fee and other upcharges on UberEats. Also, I am not 100% sure but I think ordering from the site as opposed to UberEats/GrubHub ensures that the restaurant retains a bigger percentage of the transaction. I felt I received a fair amount of food for the price. I'll attach a photo. Delivered within 20 mins from when I ordered. I also appreciate that the hot soup was in a separate bag from the sushi. Overall tasted good. My only wish would be for dessert options to be made available for delivery.
