Delicious, fresh and fast. One of our favorite places to visit when in the area. Service is friendly and the ambience is relaxing.

I'm not sure how Fuko doesn't have 5 stars across the board. If I was in college I'd be here every day! Very fresh ingredients all laid out on front of you, and an easy menu of predesigned or make your own rolls. Sushi wraps, bowls, etc. Brown rice option which is good for those of us hoping to drop a pound or two ;) salmon roll was excellent, same with the hamachi roll. Great spot, our CMU freshman will make this a regular visit!

It's build-your-own fast food sushi and rice bowls. There's a menu you can order off or build your own totally from scratch. I ordered the vegan burrito off the menu. The "burrito" is like a giant handheld sushi roll. Mine was rolled pretty neatly (although it doesn't look like it in my photo) and held together well even though I had it made with brown rice which tends to not stick as well as white. It was really good! I really liked the sweet spicy combination of mango and sweet chili sauce with the smoked tofu. Nice healthy serving of tofu. There's a good amount of seating in store. Friendly staff. Great choice for a quick, healthy meal.

I've gotten the golden dragon roll maybe 3 times now when I'm just craving some sushi. I wouldn't say it's the most fresh, but it definitely fills you up and satisfies the "sushi craving". I wouldn't expect over the top amazing sushi quality when going here, but the workers are very fast and it's a nice place to go eat with friends.

Sushi rolls and seaweed salad tasted great when we got them over door dash! It's nice to have an option that's healthier than other types of delivery or fast food. We got the Dynamite Roll (shrimp tempura, spicy crab, cucumber, mango, spicy mayo - COOKED) and the Coconut Shrimp Roll (Shrimp Tempura, spicy crap, avocado, cucumber, coconut sauce, and coconut flakes). That one didn't say it was cooked, but it sounded cooked... right? Everything tasted good. The spicy options weren't noticeably spicy. Only problem was we both felt a little sick that day/the next.

This was not at all what I expected, and I love it! Think Chipotle meets sushi. The food was very flavorful. I got the Crunchy Salmon roll and the Coconut Shrimp roll. The portions were generous. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Also, very clean and modern atmosphere. Definitely coming back with some of my family.

This place definitely isn't bad, and I feel the rating is a tad low. Now, I haven't tried their sushi, but they're poke bowls -- those are quite good, I believe. I tried their Build Your Own Poke bowl, which I created with brown rice, smoked salmon, tempura flakes, soy sauce, carrots, corn, edamame, and sweet chili sauce. The portion itself was good, and a solid price as well. The location is confident, too. The food itself, I felt was pretty good quality. Although they called it smoked salmon, it didn't have a very strong Smokey flavor, but it was still good. The vegetables seemed to be fresh. The brown rice was well cooked, and the sauces blended together well. They gave me numerous packets of soy sauce on the side. All in all, very solid place. Is it the best or the most authentic? No, but it's quick, has good prices, a confident location, and solid food.

This is my favorite sushi place, I've been coming here for about 3 years now. The sushi is always good and it is decently priced too. The staff is always nice. They don't have a lot of seating but they do have a decent seating area. My favorite place to sit is at the booth by the window. It can get kind of loud in here when it is packed since the shop isn't very big but I still love it.

Convenient sushi shop for college kids. The assembly line setup is really good for getting orders through, but still, lines can still get pretty held back at peak hours. The food is just alright. The manager is pretty cheap on toppings and fish, so you won't get your filling for just one order. The fish quality is pretty mediocre---you know it's definitely frozen, and sometimes they don't even bother to defrost it all the way before serving it to you. Toppings are also pretty limited, which really makes it difficult to get any satisfying order without paying a lot. The bowls are worse than the rolls, I'd say, because they tend to give you a ton of rice and not much fish and toppings.

My hubby and I ordered delivery from Sushi Fuku last night for dinner. I'm very glad Sushi Fuku was able to stay open during this pandemic since it's not a chain restaurant. Anyways, I ordered a "build your own bowl" and my husband ordered a "build your own sushi roll." He also ordered some dumplings as an appetizer. Delivery was quick and our orders were correct. Per usual, their food was delicious and the ingredients were fresh! This is definitely the place to go to get your sushi/poke bowl fix.

Love this place! I'm a bit confused as this location has always been named sushi fuku and the location like half a mile away used to be sushi fuku but now is called atarashi. I'm not sure if these are now different restaurants but this location is better! They have more vegetarian options on the menu and I especially love the sweet potato roll!

Was craving Sushi and decided to try Sushi Fuku. It was a lazy Sunday so I decided to door dash it. The order arrived in good condition and was still delicious. I will have to try dine-in to post my full review.

This is the 2nd Sushi Fuku location in Oakland (their main one is on Oakland Ave.) and it's won me over pretty quickly as a decent place to grab sushi on the go. Their menu and meal options are basically the same as the main one. And like their parent location, you can either order from a small selection of sushi rolls such as spicy tuna or Philly rolls, or you can custom make your own sushi or sushi bowls. Though not the greatest sushi in the city it's a decent option considering their prices. About $9 got me a drink and 10 rolls - deals like that are great for folks like me, who have to satisfy sushi cravings on a regular basis. And they certainly don't have terrible fish or awful ingredients overall, so while not somewhere I'd go for high quality sushi I think it's good for what it is. They also won me over pretty quickly because they make some of the best Philly rolls I can find. (Seriously, other sushi places need to look at the proportions of the roll and take notes, particularly regarding the amount of cream cheese. Less cream cheese is more, especially when the norm I've dealt with is getting half a roll of it!) Unfortunately, while the food itself is worthy of 4 stars on my cheap eats scale, this place is entirely too tiny. It's clearly meant to be a walk-in establishment for people who are on the go, and unlike its main location there are maybe two stools you can sit on in total. But there's also no room for a line to form, as there's just enough room to walk straight from the door to the ordering station. And there's not a ton of room for the employees, either. So as great as the on-the-go plan was, I think it's too small to keep up with a real meal rush. And while it's served me well in Oakland's "off" season, I doubt I'll stop in too often when Pitt and CMU classes resume in the fall - I'm expecting the place to be jam packed at that point!

Dangerous fish bone in my raw salmon! Don't go!

Reservations are highly recommended - it's on the smaller side. The menu has so many options and an amazing variety. One thing to note is this Japanese food is not like most others. Its focus is on homestyle, also fried/stir fried Japanese dishes. So do not expect Ramen or noodle soups. A couple things that are always ordered is the Kaarage, Takoyaki, Okonomiyaki (best in the city), yakisoba or udon, and gyoza. The staff is so sweet and the decorations remind me of Izakaya places in larger cities. They have a bar with cool cocktails and adorable bento boxes they sell during lunch hours throughout the week. The takoyaki has a crunchy outside and a good flavor (4/5), and the okonomiyaki is pretty filling (4/5); these were the best two. The yaki-udon with shrimp was ok (3/5) but definitely expensive for what it was and the quantity; they also don't add much shrimp, despite the up charge. The sake no shioyaki was below average for salmon (2/5) and very expensive for that amount they give you. Similarly, the onigiri is almost entirely rice if you add salmon (2/5). You order on a tablet, and they bring the food out. Service was ok (3/5); we had empty waters for a while. The restaurant is well-decorated, and you can see the chefs work, which gives it an ambiance somewhat like a hibachi place (4/5). Overall, I think most of the items are pretty expensive for what they are; they don't have the quality or quantity to justify the price.
