We had our Faerie / Viking Enchanted Forest Masquerade themed wedding in Mt Shasta in July of 2011. We were not only lucky enough to have a magical wedding that everyone enjoyed, we had the incomparable Pixie there to capture it all! We knew of Pixie's photography long before our engagement. And we were overjoyed when we found out she was not only available, but as excited about our themed wedding as we were! She is very organized and efficient. She returns emails & phone calls promptly. The day of the wedding, she was up at dawn, taking beautifully composed shots of our invitation, rings, wedding decorations and the grounds. Her eye for detail is impeccable. And later during our Masquerade parade & reception she truly captured the magic of the event. We had a challenging wedding to photograph: outdoor & indoor in various locations throughout the entire day and into the night. She didn't miss a moment: our kiss, my mothers toast, and my favorite: my laugh as my husband dipped me during our first dance! Pixie did an outdoor photo shoot for our family, complete with our baby and three dogs. It was total chaos at the time, but the final shots were worth it -- they are beautiful with an almost ethereal quality. We were given a TON of images to choose from (almost 900 shot in just about an hour), and she provided the proofs super fast (within an hour of the shoot). We've actually had other professional photos taken that cost quite a bit less, but we got many more pictures to choose from this time, and she definitely exceeded our expectations when it came to editing the images. In some cases, she provided four or five options (different filters, etc.) for a single image so you really get a lot for your money. Pixie also knows what looks good in a shot and keeps reminding you during the shoot, which admittedly can be off-putting at times, but is very much appreciated once you view the proofs. I've also appreciated how well Pixie communicates -- from the first email to when I received the final images, she has been very responsive and clear with expectations. Pixie was amazing! Her photographs are pure art and she is great at communicating. She contacted me within an hour of emailing her, and we were able to set up a consultation appointment quickly. Initially, my fiancé and I were only planning on doing wedding photos with her, but after the enthusiasm she showed during our meeting, we were both excited to book her for an engagement shoot as well. Since he and I are both a little camera shy, we thought this would be good practice for the big day. So glad we did that! Turns out, we needed the practice, but luckily for us, Pixie walked us through everything and both the engagement photos and wedding photos turned out beautifully. We did feel a bit rushed for the pre wedding shoot - enough so that unfortunately the wedding party didn't have time to grab their flowers (we got the flowers in many other pictures during and after the ceremony) - but I don't know if that's because of the unforeseen traffic that caused her to be a few minutes late or simply because that's how weddings tend to work. After that, though, everything fell into place and Pixie did a wonderful job keeping us on track and capturing our beautiful day. We wanted a costumed medieval wedding so we looked for a photographer that understood a creative themed wedding and memorable family portraits. Since we were from AZ, we wanted a local photographer to help sort out requirements, provide coordination between vendors and make suggestions for memorable shots. We met with Pixie on a trip to LA at Tam O'Shanters for venue planning and evaluate lighting for the shots we wanted. She made a number of positive suggestions, and ensured we addressed any issues early. We worked with Pixie to decide "must have shots" and realized we needed a second photographer to cover everything. On the day, they arrived early.
