The pizza scene in Denver drives me nuts. Sometimes (most times) I just want a $3 slice or a ~$20 full-sized, basic pie vs. some $18+ artisan personal pie that leaves me hungry. This is where Pizza Alley saves the day! I ordered a 16" pie for takeout, half with pepperoni, for $20. Was it the best pizza I have ever eaten? No. The crust was solid, but the cheese and sauce didn't have much flavor... But throw some pepperoni on there and who can tell the difference! Fed a couple of hungry adults and leftovers heated up well the next day. Pizza Alley is bare bones and is one of the closest spots I have found to east coast pizza joints. I'll be back! read more

This is a no frills type of place. They do have a menu but it's not a lot of variety. And that's ok. I'd rather my pizza joint be a pizza joint and not catering to trends. It's been a while since we have been here. We used to come after every cheer competition before COVID because we weee downtown. Last season was mostly at the at the Gaylord (which I hate) so we haven't been in a while. The pizza is bomb. I've never had anything else here but my older one ordered a calzone and I know in the past my your one has eaten the spaghetti and meatballs. I've never had anything bad to eat here. There is a TV in here and fountain drinks. The desserts are not made in house but tiramisu is very difficult to make. They are both really good. BONUS: Sweet Cow is a few doors down too. read more

Look. There's a large handful of local pizza spots in Denver. Tonight, I just wanted to stay in. But I didn't want to order from a chain, but I was also hesitant about ordering pizza from local places that I knew would give me a stomachache from the grease, or would have too much bread for crust. They're all good for meeting up with friends, but for delivery? For delivery fees and waiting...I want the pizza to be well worth it. And sometimes some places make huge ass monsters of a pizzas that are good for parties. Or pizzas that are so tiny that no...that random handful of arugula you tossed on top of it doesn't make up for the fact you made people pay $30 for it. So I picked this place just because my friends have never dragged me here, and it was close enough. I'm glad I did. The pizza was perfect. It wasn't too greasy (good for those texture-sensitive girlies out there), the meat was flavorful and you could actually taste the cheese (be real, sometimes you frickin' don't at some pizza joints) and the sauce was the right amount of punch. And it was the right size for someone single person or if you're sharing with someone else. The bread felt good in my hands and there wasn't too much crust at all. It was an extremely tasty pizza that was satisfying both when it came to texture and flavor. Biting into the pizza was satisfying too. Meh. I have been in search of good NY style pizza in Denver and heard that this may be the place. Aside from the murals of NYC in the restaurant, there was not much NY about the food. As a former resident of New York, I remember authentic NY style pizza as having a thin crust with a slightly brown bottom, giving it a little crunch with each bite. The sauce should be the perfect balance of the acidity from the tomato and the salt used for seasoning. My experience here was a bit different. The crust was thick, bready and very greasy (see picture) which made the pizza soggy and chewy. The sauce tasted overly-salted and it just wasn't great. The true test for pizza is how it tastes when cold the next morning. This did not pass the test. While the employees were very sweet and personable, I will go forward and continue my search for good NY style pizza in Denver. read more

I absolutely love this spot. Their food is very tasty and great quality. It might not be the healthiest haha but I highly recommend it on a cheat meal. The staff is very friendly and kind and they are very accommodating. The only down side is that they're usually very busy, but that's kind of a great thing as well. Ended up here after sushi hai to give their pizza a try. Walked in and it smelled like an "authentic" pizza place...I just love that pizza smell :). We ordered a gluten free cheese pizza. It didn't taste like previous gluten free pizzas I have had in the past, but we were told they use Rudi's gluten free pizza dough? It was pretty good, but I had difficulty keeping the cheese on the pizza when I ate it :(. So most of my slices ended up being cheese-less after my first bite or two. Next time I'll have to try their regular pizza. They also have sandwiches (e.g. Italian sub), pasta (e.g. spaghetti), calzones, salads and desserts (e.g. tiramasu and NY cheesecake). Went on a whim while my gf was interviewing for a job close by. Ordered a cheese and a pepperoni slice, the standard for any first visit. Both had a great flavor and good cheese, the biggest miss was the crunch of the crust. Not the crust on the outer edge of the slice, but the crust on the bottom of the slice. It's should make a sound when you fold it because it's splitting and you'll see it across the bottom of the slice. Coca Cola products here so that's cool. Not much seating inside but plenty of space outside, when the weather is right. Parking can be tough depending on the time and day of year, summer time will most likely put you on the street during peak hours. Good local pizzeria... read more

I placed an order and picked up two pizzas from here, the Alley Special and White Face. The employee on the phone was kind and excited sounding on the phone and details about my order were clear. I found the pricing to be fair as well, about $20 for their largest pie size. I ordered two pizzas because normally I prefer ricotta and garlic toppings rather than the traditional pepperoni, however the pepperoni topped Alley Special was surprisingly good. I recommend that particular pizza. It wasn't loaded with toppings but they were tasty and high quality. I wouldn't say the pizzas tasted like authentic New York pizza, but they were thin like it. Overall it was pleasant getting my two pizzas, and next time it would be nice to eat inside the restaurant; it looks like a cute spot inside the Highlands shopping center where Sweet Cow is. We have lived in the area for over two years now and every time we go to the Highlands, we say, we really should try Pizza Alley. After an unexpected disaster at another restaurant across the street we were left hungry and in search of something else. And we realized, the time has come for Pizza Alley. When we walked in the door we were greeted by the nicest employee who gave us some good ideas for what to order and just overall seemed to be having a good time at his job. We must have looked really hungry because he told us the dinner special comes with breadsticks and salad which come right away while our pizza bakes for 15 minutes. Or maybe that is just what they always say but either way I knew the hangry feeling would be subsiding soon. The salad was your average pizza house salad with mostly iceberg, raw mushrooms, green peppers, tomatoes and pepperoni. It totally hit the spot. The breadsticks also hit the spot but I can't say they were the best I've ever had. They looked as if they were just odds and ends of leftover pizza crust with no additional seasoning or coating. The star was the pizza. We got the white pizza with half green chili and half pepperoni/sausage. The crust was delicate and crispy, not too thick and not too thin. My half with the green chili was delicious. The bite I tried of my husbands side was also tasty and the sausage offered a spicy note. Overall we enjoyed our experience and will definitely come back again. They've been around since 1976 and obviously know what they are doing! read more
