Based on all the reviews of this place, it sounded like a great place to check out. Sadly-- the experience didn't live up to those expectations. There is a self serve fountain drink station-- the ice machine was clearly dirty and hadn't been cleaned in a while. We debated what to do-- we did bring it up to the managers attention and he apologized and offered us a bottled drink instead. The pizza was really solid--good crust with a nice balance of crispy and chewy, flavorful sauce, and a good amount of toppings. Everything tasted fresh and well put together. The wings were also a highlight. They were crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and had a good amount of flavor without being overwhelming. Went here with my girlfriend recently on a night all of the places regulars for pool were there. Cool to see how lively it was with all of them, and for that I will say I really enjoyed the overall vibe of the place. We ordered a few different things. The cheese pizza was great. We also ordered our favorite, a pepperoni, pineapple, and bacon, which was fine but not mind-blowing. The wings were good, but again not all that. The garlic bread was pretty mid. The service was great overall, the guy who took our order was very helpful and nice. Overall, the food was decent and the overall feel of the place was good. My experience comes by way of ordering GrubHub. I ordered food from here about 90 minutes ago. The order was EXACTLY as I had hoped. The salad you guys offer was perfect. The 10-piece order of wings checked all of the boxes. They were still quite warm due to how they were packaged. I asked for NO Ranch and you didn't include Ranch. Thank you for that. I should have asked for an extra side of your wing sauce. The one that came with the order was enough but sometimes I love extra wing sauce. I was hungry enough for the entire order. I would have snapped pics but I was too hungry. By the time I thought about doing that, I was eating the celery sticks that came with the order. I'll take photos next time. I remember this pizza from almost a decade ago but never lived close enough to try it again. I'm so glad I moved and tried it again. I got a large half sausage (I'm usually not a sausage person) pizza and it was SO GOOD. Definitely a top pizza of Reno pie for me. It was so saucy, super crispy and the right amount of cheese. The configuration is a little awkward because these activities are just inside the front door. Usually these things are out of the path of ingress and egress. It kind of gives you the feel that you are in the way. The food is good and offers a little of bang for the buck compared to trendier places. So usually when I have a bad experience in a restaurant, I don't return simply because there are too many good experiences to be had to ever try them all. But I have had a lot of good food from Pizza Baron over the years long before Yelp was ever a thing and yes while my first trip back there after moving back to the NW part of town was not a good experience, I didn't think it would be fair to judge it on one bad day when I know their batting average is much better. Anyway, my next visit was on a Saturday night and I decided to get some hot wings and a couple beers. The bartender was really friendly and quick and the wings were perfectly cooked. Pun intended but it was night and day from my previous order. I've been back there twice since and it's been great each time. When they are good, Pizza Baron has the best wings in town. As a side note, most places that do wings don't do "hot" right. You usually have multiple flavors that range from mild, to "ok, that has some kick" to "your colon is going to hate you". The "hot" wings from here hit the sweet spot. A good mouth burn with some lingering heat on the lips and a bit of brow sweat but it's not masochistic (but they do have a sauce for that). read more

This place has exceptional pizza, the tastiest wings and they will customize your salad upon request. The bartenders are fun and make you laugh with their incredible jokes. They have Karaoke every Wednesday Night and the KJ's treat you like family. We have new singers weekly and the locals all come out to have good times with ole' friends. So the other night a coworker and I ordered some pizza for delivery, Though it wasn't theirs- it was my very first time trying Pizza Baron! So for starters we ordered the current large 2 topping pizza with a pound of wings for $25.99 special. Not the best deal I've ever heard and certainly not the worst. Pros would have to be; Relatively quick delivery time, especially considering the current climate. Fries, garlic bread, and celery and ranch are included. Wing sauce is amazing. Got some good heat to it. Cons; The pizza flavor is off for me. Really vinegar-y? Something about the sauce and cheese ratio is definitely off. No drinks are included, like a liter of soda would be nice. And the overall size- I could get the personal pizza at Blaze that's roughly the same size with unlimited toppings for about a 3rd of the price. read more

First time in last night - for the Tuesday 2 for 1 deal. That is 2 drinks for the price of 1 - 2 pizza's for the price of one (there might be exclusions but I don't know what they are) 4 stars because the food and drink deal can't be beat on a Tuesday night. Yes, it's dive-y but it's part of its' charm. Regulars are friendly, and they are welcoming to newbies like me. There is ample seating, a huge bar, gaming, a pool table, games, TV's. Bartender was fast, and although the bar was relatively hopping for a Tuesday night, he was on it. He kept our drinks coming. They have Karaoke too (not sure which night) The menu is paper and it's seen better days. You order by going up to a window - but they bring the food out to you and the pizza was GOOD. Dare I say great?! Maybe. The crust was crispy around the edges, and the small fed 3 people easily, but because it was 2 for one, we got 2 pizzas to share. One was the combo, one was chicken, garlic, white sauce, jalapeno's and man that was the best one and I've never had Jalapenos on a chicken pizza, but something you should try if you like spicey. The toppings were plentiful and they were delicious. I'll go again just for the pizza - who am I kidding - I'll get a drink too :) Yes, you'll need to overlook that's it's a bit worn, and maybe not spotless, but it's real and there wasn't a hipster in sight. While waiting, I went over to the bar and ordered a Jameson on the rocks, reasonably priced at $6.50. I tipped the efficient bartender the balance of the $10.00 bill. Pizza Baron is our go to pizza spot. It's close to the house, they deliver, or we can pop in. And they have some pretty great deals. We always order the Special. It's a large 2-topping pizza, we get pepperoni and green peppers, a pound of wings, we get the dry rub mango habanero (I think), and it comes with fries, carrots, celery and garlic bread. I have noticed the pizza seems to be better when you eat at the restaurant, which makes a bit of sense, since it's not in a car for 20ish minutes prior to getting to you. My favorite thing about the pizza is the super crispy crust. I love the crunch, oh and they make their own ranch! YUM! This last time I ordered a cauliflower crust pizza, and I just wasn't impressed. Around 6 P.M., 07/02/2023. I entered the Pizza Baron establishment with my service dog, who is trained as a medical response, medical assistant, and a guide. We sat down and ordered a pizza, and Jessica (Bartender) was rude to us right away. She ask "if we were eating in or taking out?" No harm, Just her tone was off. I said that "we planned on dining in." We sat for almost a half-hour patiently waiting for our pizza. About five minutes before my pizza was ready Jessica said, "Actually, I don't care if you're dog is a service dog, you and your dog need to leave." "This is a restaurant. You can wait for your pizza outside." Instead of reacting, I grabbed my things and went outside for a minute, thought about it. Then I went back inside and demanded a refund or my pizza. Jessica said "I can't give you a refund, your pizza is almost ready." "You need to wait outside." I said "No!" "That I wanted my pizza or my money, then I would be happy to leave this restaurant." Jessica went to the back and approximately four minutes later, Jessica came back with my pizza boxed up with a piece of tape sealing the box. She continued being extremely rude to me. I left Pizza Baron after pizza was in my hand. When I got outside, I opened the box, checked the pizza, and it had no spit or anything that looked suspicious, however I was under the impression that she may have tampered with my food. We walked down the street to our destination and ate my pizza. The pizza was good, but greasy and I didn't get sick later so that was a good sign. my family and i used to visit all the time when we lived in the area and recently re visited with my fiancé. my parents visit for the drinks, my sister and i visit for the pizza and let me tell you the pizza did not disappoint, just as good as i remembered. even my fiancé who lived in new york for a bit and is a self titled "pizza enthusiast" loved it. the staff is always super friendly to us, and the ambiance is really easy going. it's not a typical bar which makes up feel a bit better and safer. genuinely would recommend this to anyone who eats pizza or is looking for a good place to hang out with some buddies. read more

excellent pizza. great crust and awesome white sauce (kindve hard to find). they keep current sports games going and have bartop gambling. there are lots of regulars and has a little bit of a barsy "Cheers" vibe. a lot of cool older folks, its never loud or rowdy but I've had a hilarious conversation or two. Pizza and wings always shows up in 10 to 15, they're always friendly, and the wings are unique but awesome as well. only con is that it's a little small for any party above maybe 4. highly recommended for a beer and some pizza. read more
