I stopped in late one Saturday morning with a few friends. We'd made a reservation but figured we wouldn't need it since we were meeting so early. We found the restaurant nearly empty and sat by the open air window. I don't recall our server's name, but he was really nice and attentive. He was a young, handsome, slender, Latino or Asian guy. We took our time looking over the menu. The restaurant is pleasantly decorated with a cool theme. It's spacious and comfortable with southern hospitality vibes. We ordered a round of drinks while waiting for our food. I had the spicy hibiscus margarita, which was pretty good. My sister and a friend both had the Endless Summer, I believe. I can't recall the exact name but they both enjoyed their drinks. Two of my friends ordered the French toast. They liked it but once said it was a bit too sweet. My male friend ordered steak as an add-on, and he liked that as well. My sister had the born in the USA breakfast and I ordered the pulled pork sandwich. All the food was surprisingly fantastic. We all agreed that we'd definitely return to PB&Js. The food, service, and atmosphere all passed the vibe check. The bill was about $200 for four entrées and four cocktails, which is sadly about average given the current economic climate. read more

Stopped into PB&J (Pizza, Beer & Jukebox) to get out of the cold and ended up having a nice experience. The food was surprisingly good for a bar. I had the barbecue chicken pizza, which was solid, but the real standout was the chicken tenders and fries super juicy, flavorful, and definitely something I'd order next time. I couldn't stop steak a fry from my friend. Service was friendly and attentive. The bartenders checked on us, gave good recommendations, and kept a positive vibe. I tried a french 75, which isn't my usual drink, so I can't fully judge the cocktails, but it was decent. I'd come back to try one of my go to drinks next time. We had a horrible experience here. We made a reservation a week in advance to watch the Bears vs Packers game. The reservation was for 6:45, but we arrived at 6 because a friend in our group also had a 6:00 reservation. About 30 minutes after being seated, the hostess came over and told us we had to leave because of a 90-minute table rule, which made no sense since we had only been sitting for half an hour. She then claimed we hadn't ordered anything and needed to keep a tab open to stay at the table, even though we had already ordered multiple beers and snacks that were on the table. She also said another party was paying for the table, even though we were the ones who made the reservation. When we realized I hadn't canceled my original 6:45 reservation, we asked if we could keep the table since we were already seated, and they refused. We were told we had to give up the table no matter what, even though we had ordered food and drinks, which they said they would put into to-go containers. The staff kept coming up with different explanations, and the whole situation was extremely poorly handled and rude. To make things worse, the bouncer wouldn't let part of our party enter even though we were already seated. On a Bears game day, it's nearly impossible to find another place with a table, which is why we made the reservation in advance. Pb&J is a great bar environment with delicious menu items and friendly staff. On a weekend you can find this place very busy and packed. We were able to find seating at the bar pretty easily for a Friday night. The food is pretty good for a bar the buffalo chicken nachos is different and a good portion size. We were looking for a quick casual meal after some other activities in the West Loop and discovered this place. The place had a decent crowd for a Monday night when we arrived - the fact that they were having a trivia night probably contributed to that. The place is pretty spacious and has TVs everywhere, which was helpful for watching the NCAA tournament games the night of our visit. We arrived at 9 PM for an event advertised on Eventbrite, but the staff seemed completely unaware of it. After being redirected to the man checking IDs, we were handed a single ticket and told it was good for two drinks. The bartender, however, didn't believe us, called the doorman over, and then imposed arbitrary restrictions on what drinks we could order. When we asked about the buffet that was advertised, no one seemed to know anything about it--not the bartenders, the doorman, or anyone else. We were told to ask the kitchen, but when we did, we were directed to another building where pizzas were supposedly being delivered through some bizarre method involving a wall. This made no sense, so we sought clarification from another staff member, a woman who started checking for Eventbrite passes at the door. By 10:30 PM, they finally brought out two small pizzas to the back area, which was clearly insufficient for the large crowd of attendees expecting a proper buffet. The pizzas were gone almost immediately, and by 11:00 PM, no additional food was brought out. To make matters worse, the bathroom area was unsanitary, with vomit left near the entryway. At that point, we decided to leave and celebrate New Year's elsewhere. This event was poorly managed and did not deliver on the promises made in the Eventbrite listing. Save your time and money. To sum it up, they advertised a 9pm start time, staff was unaware of this event. SCAMMED MY PARTY. Communication with event planner, Lauren, was less than ideal. I had asked questions about the invoice leading up to the event and was eventually charged with an invoice double the size that was originally sent to me. There was NO check on protocol and by the time I arrived their staff had let in multiple people that were not apart of my party. Such a fun spot! Great for brunch or a night out. Sometimes I will just stop in here with friends and just get a shot. The pb and j shot is soooooo tasty. You have to try it if you go here! It literally taste like a pb and j sandwich! The Cinnamon Toast Crunch shot is also just as delicious. Service is always speedy. Bartenders are always very nice and fast. When you come here you have to get the deluxe Bloody Mary. This candied bacon was one of the best things I have had. So sweet and crunchy and full of perfection. What an awesome bar! The food is delicious especially for bar food. They have tons of specials, events, and happy hour deals you can see online. They also have a brunch menu and a pizza of the month you can view on their website before stopping in. Their pizzas are what really steal the show for me - I love their Sweet Home Chicago pizza which comes with marinara, pepperoni, soppressata, capicola, calabrian chili oil, parmigiana reggiano, and basil. Their staff is super cool and personable, too (shoutout Mela and Megan!). Pricing here is very standard; it's not expensive and not cheap. This place can get super busy on weekends especially towards the evenings, so if you want to be able to hear your friends better I suggest going during the day or on a weekday. For the longest I've wanted to come in and check PB&J out. Well....today was the day. Walking in the decor was super cute for a bar. Neon lights grab your attention. It's a very spacious bar with plenty of seating and areas to seat larger parties. I sat at the bar and was instantly greeted and my order was taken. My bartender was great. Every drink he mad, I loved. I didn't order food because I wasn't hungry at the moment but I got an expresso martini. This was a very delicious expresso martini. We came here for a post-wedding brunch. The bride and groom had tables reserved, pizza and nibbles coming out, as well as an open tab for open ordering. All of the servers were milling about in the restaurant not tending to the tables. Each time we wanted to order something, we needed to flag down the staff who would make their way over with no apology and when it was brought to their attention the behavior wasn't corrected. The bus staff were buzzing around nonstop keeping the place tidy. The staff had the opportunity to make a lot of money off this large party- a missed opportunity. When we were able to order drinks they were mediocre at best, both the Bloody Mary and the Watermelon Sugar were both flavorless. The cheese and the pepperoni pizzas were both a bit floppy, with a ton of cheese resulting in a soggy pizza. The second time we had to flag down a server our glasses had been empty for quite sometime. Since we were being ignored we opted to place a food order along with the drink order since we were unsure if we would ever be acknowledged by the server again. We ordered the Honey I'm In Love which came with honey whipped ricotta stuffed into pockets in the crust, garnished with fresh arugula, cherry tomatoes, and balsamic reduction. This pizza was much better than the floppy/soggy regular pizza. The crust was delicate and the flavors went well together. I wish more honey flavor came through in the whipped ricotta. The service was so awful the only thing that kept us from getting up and leaving was that we were there for the newlyweds. If you are looking to be ignored by the staff this is the place for you, for me it is a hard pass. read more

Great place to dine in and honestly the perfect spot to catch up with friends! The staff was truly outstanding. Both the manager and waitress recommended great dishes and made us feel very welcomed throughout the night. On to the food - Brussels & pork: TASTED SO GOOD. Brussel were golden at the edges and tender at their cores. The pork bites were nicely cooked and crisp all over! Impressive first entree Fries: Crispy golden and fluffy inside. So the service absolutely sucked by our waitress, a call out to a great hostess (who actually took our drink order) and a helper that assisted much later in the seating. The server literally took 20 minutes to even approach the table while she was eating and talking to another employee. We had two table settings with no silverware. Our appetizer was sitting on the food window while our server was still eating, we had to ask for 2 more setting after the appetizer was delivered, then we took two place setting off the empty table next to us. Finally she brings 4 plates, 4 sets of utensils and four napkins. So at the end of the meal, we had two pizza trays, the appetizer empty plate, 8 napkins, tons of silverware, and that hung around for another 45 minutes Here's the end- we ask for the check, our server comes over and says "bills over $150 will include a tip" The "tip" is 21% I wonder if the service sucked so bad because she knew there was going to be a 21% tip Again, the hostess and some other employees get it, our server should not be in the service industry! I had the pleasure coming out to PB&J for the first time. When I walked in it smelled like I was back in college from the stench of beer. I know the name has beer in it, but I did not think it would smell like this. The smell somewhat made me want to leave because I almost questioned the cleanliness of the restaurant. I went ahead and was seated and ordered the purple haze. The drink was a glittery purple delight that I quite enjoyed. For the food I ordered the wings and a side salad that was big enjoy for 2-3 people which was nice. I would give the food a 8.5/10 just because I was not moved by the sauces, the sweet chili for the wings was watery and the ranch for the salad and wings so was thick. My server was actually attentive and very sweet; even though how could she not be attentive, it was not many people dining it at the time. Oh I forgot so you get to choose the music you want to hear from the touch tunes jukebox which I always like. That was a nice touch to the place. You can go up to the box or create yourself and account through the touch tunes and add money that way. I had walked by and actually wrote off coming here because of the doggie date night I passed. It smelled awful and it was so many dogs, toys and dishes everywhere it was so chaotic. I think if you can get pass the horrible smell when you enter and skip Doggie date night on Wednesday this is not a bad place to pop in. I loved loved loved my experience at PB&J. The ambiance was upbeat and lively which added so much fun to my Friday night. I also loved they have an actual Jukebox where you can go up and pick/play your own selection of music or scan and request from your seat. Everyone picked great tunes that kept the bar/restaurant going! I was seated at the bar (it was just me so it was fine) and the bar and wait staff were accommodating and attentive which I appreciated. Their drinks were soooo much fun. I ordered the 'Taste the Rainbow' which was a colorful drink, with Pride vibes, and a rainbow candy fruit roll up. Not only was it instagram worthy, it was also very very good. I had two! The pizza was good! It was a personal size pizza but I absolutely was unable to finish it on my own, which made for great left overs the next day. I had the  'Bacon and Sausage' pizza which was so bold in flavor, stacked with cheese, and overall so so yummy. It paired with my drinks and the overall vibe well.
