We stopped in on a 70F March evening to soak up as much sun and fresh air as possible! This was a cute spot, but the outdoor patio area I the back is what truly makes the space. The interior is dark and moody, which might be nice for a different type of day! They have a large section of drinks, especially if you're a beer person. There is also free, self-serve popcorn. The patio is dog-friendly but it's not gigantic so maybe not the best place if your dog gets worked up around other dogs. We also thought we came within happy hour but our drinks were full price so they may not have been included, there aren't many details about happy hour posted and I didn't want to bother the poor bartender too much since she was running the show solo! Security at the door must've been on break for a bit because she also had to check IDs at the doors on top of bartending while we were leaving. It was definitely busy and they would've benefited from more staff. Overall really enjoyed it and would definitely come back for nice weather!

Straight up drinks with an old school feel. Not sure if this is the norm, but when we were there, there were a lot of "I just turned 21 IPA drinkers". Now that I'm thinking about it, this bar must be full of younger people because there was a "bouncer" ID checker at the door. Solid pours, decent bartender service, lots of options in regards to beer and whiskey. Would for sure visit again for a lowkey beverage in an off time (aka mid day). This bar is also extremely dog friendly - 3 dogs total were inside the bar hanging out with their owners. Bar doesn't serve food - people did bring in take out - so I'm not sure if this is why. At the end of the day, all owners were respectful and the dogs behaved.

I love walking around Chicago when I'm home for the summer. On this visit I had my dog Zeke with me. This taphouse showed up in a Google search for "dog friendly" so I walked a half-mile north from the riverwalk to refresh for an hour of walking. I walked in on a Monday with a few people behind the counter. The friendly bar tender quickly came around to give my dog a water bowl without me asking for one. I sat at the counter and tried two Chicago-brewed wheat beers. There were plenty of beer on tap and many more bottled. A Korean taco shop is next door. There is also a biergarten in the back for larger groups. The interior is heavy on dark wood, like many old taverns, and is long and narrow. Excellent customer service. I paid $16 just for two pints of beer, which is typical for Chicago.

We had our wedding after party here and they were absolutely amazing. Free drinks for me (though strangely enough not for my husband! Lol) the whole night, and plenty of deals thrown in for our guests, too! They have a beautiful beer garden out back, and it was super fun to kick back and enjoy the fresh air. This place isn't pretentious by any means, which just adds that much more to the overall appeal. Such a chill spot in the middle of all the hustle and bustle! My husband and I just went back on our 1 month anniversary and had a blast reliving the memories. Highly recommend.

A casual place to grab a beer at the end of the night. Clean and well spaced out and the staff was amazing in seating us quick and talking over the menu and their recommendations. Good atmosphere and music and a variety of drafts. We stumbled upon it and was so glad! A great way to end our night.

Chill spot to grab a drink. Rarely over crowded and bar staff is always friendly and accommodating. No food menu but does have a free popcorn machine and pretzels. Dog friendly with a spacious back patio. Beer and whiskey selection is quality!

I love Clark Street Ale House all year round for allowing dogs inside but I especially love their patio. They have a great selection of rotating taps, touch tunes, sports, a good crowd. Favorite chicago bar for sure.

I passed by this bar a lot of times. In summer days they opened the windows and beautiful flowers were hanging outside.people love drink here because they really offer kinds of beers. In winter, Watching football and have a beer with friends here seems the best way to enjoy weekends! You can also bring your dog here! He or she will have a wonderful time and make friends here.

    Cheers

There is an upstairs area that's a little more loungier whereas the downstairs can get more rowdy on game day. We came during the championship game, and this was the perfect spot to be. We came early to be able to snag some bar seats upstairs and enjoy multiple drinks and food. Drinks are great - some cocktails and beers are only offered downstairs. Food was a mix: Chimichurri cauliflower: smaller portion than I expected, nothing special I'd skip this dish. Ceasar salad: dressing is very heavy on the anchovy paste, otherwise good portion and veggies. Loaded fries: huge portion with lots of great toppings, though I wish their fries were more 'fry' like versus potato skin-like. Chicken tenders: I got this with sweet potato fries, and they were way too salty. The chicken tenders were 4 skimpy pieces of chicken, and I was charged for extra dipping sauces and ketchup. The spicy mango habanero and buffalo are good - skip the garlic parmesan. I will most definitely be back for the vibes, drinks, and service. I'm hoping the food is just working on some kinks and will get better the next time!

Every seat in the house has a good view of a widescreen TV with the game on. The bar has a cozy, casual vibe. On game day it's very loud; if you plan to chat with your group you'll be shouting to be heard! I highly recommend the chicken Caesar wrap. I had low expectations since this is a sports bar but this is probably the best chicken Caesar wrap I've had in my life. In light of how good this meal was I plan to return soon and try the rest of the menu. I also had a cocktail that was tasty and cheaper than some of the drinks on offer from nearby bars ($13).

There were a lot of TVs all around the bar, so you won't be tilting your head back to watch the game from any angle. Our server was new, but she did a great job with taking everyone's orders and also being very upfront about saying she will ask about the drafts on tap so she can give us an accurate drink selection. The food from Theory never disappoints. Last year, I had the Theory Burger and was delighted by how good it was. This year, I tried the Challah French Toast and it was pleasantly delicious. The Mac and Cheese was also a solid choice, and for $8, they provided a good amount of food! And that Chicken Parm Egg Roll...wow they were so good!! I was skeptical from the name, but this was like having a pizza roll but in egg roll form The only reason I am giving this place 4 stars is because Theory has severely up charged for the Champions League. I recall last year a reservation was $5/person, but this year they charged $15/person. For this reason, we came in at 9AM opening time for an 8-person table and were able to get one without having to pay the reservation fee. I really like how organized Theory is though, as a sports bar. Service has always been great and I may come again for another game!

If you've been to the old spot I'm talking about, you'll notice immediately that The Scout still has the beautiful, soaring ceilings, but they've also remodeled a chunk of the restaurant, which is great! We sat down pretty immediately at a table in the back of the restaurant - not too far from the (new) DJ booth, and our waitress was extremely kind and gave us prompt service. We were just hanging out, listening to the music, when the NFL Divisional playoff game that was on tonight came back on, and let me tell you, it was the loudest game audio I have ever heard in a bar, ever. I've been going to sports bars for most of my adult life, and I get that folks can get excited and loud and that's not what I'm talking about. The audio of just the announcers and players from the telecast were almost exceeding 100 dBA, slow, without the bar cheering. I've been an audio engineer for over 20 years, and that isn't too far off from the base level of what you'll experience at concerts at the United Center (102-110 dBA, slow). We asked twice if the zone that encompassed our area of the restaurant could be turned down - but nothing changed, so we took our food to go and left. It wasn't just "can't have a conversation" loud, it was "I can't think" loud. This place needs to do some system tuning (the example I'll give - if you go to a Yard House the environment is loud and lively but you can still hold a conversation at your table because the audio system is extremely well tuned). The food that we ate when we got home (Kids mac n cheese and buffalo wings) were exceptional, so that's why I'm not leaving a single star. I don't know if we'll be back, I was incredibly disappointed tonight.
