I'm almost hesitant to write this review because I'd like to keep this precious little secret to myself but the world always needs more good pizza so here goes. [[HIGHLIGHT]]No atmosphere at all. Remember the old school neighborhood slice joints that were just a counter, some ovens, and a drink machine? That's what this place probably was in a previous life and it still looks like that.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The pizza, though, is by the pie only and the sizes range from personal sized on up. The style is Neapolitan and while it's not as good as Varuni Napoli in Krog St. Market it is pretty damn acceptable, especially for a storefront tucked away in a questionable looking strip mall behind Emory University. It's hard to say there's any service at all but the guys behind the counter are pleasant. Although there are many topping combinations available I'd suggest getting no more than two toppings per pie. The Neapolitan style doesn't take well to American-style overloading. read more

It's a small place, only a few tables inside. Crispy, airy crust. Affordable, lots of options. Had a small bacon pizza which came with full strips (WIN!) and lots of cheese. Hands down the best pizza place in the area. You can definitely tell that the owner has spent time in Europe. Not only does he serve exquisite gyros (we call them "kebab" in France), but he also masters the art of pizza like only a few others in the city. His pizza dough is fluffy, aerial and tanned to the perfection in his brick oven -- and here, I have to say that he knows his oven and how to use it. I have been disappointed in the United States by Italian places bragging about their brick ovens, but the owner of Pizza Bella has proved that with passion and talent, you can bring excellent pizza to this city. He is always accommodating to special requests and the food he serves is always worth it. The service is fast, friendly and makes you want to spend some time in the restaurant. The prices are more than reasonable, adding that he proposes a discount for Emory students and employees. A very special mention to the Margherita. This is the original pizza everyone should try when they come to a pizzeria for the first time. Pizza Bella's Margherita is topped with a delicious homemade tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella and fresh basil -- do not hesitate to ask for extra fresh basil, added after the pizza went in the oven. Pizza Bella is always the best! It's placed right next to the Kroger off of Briarcliff in Druid Hills. They have a great variety of pizza and great entrees/ side. We typically get wings and a pizza from Pizza Bella. The wings do not disappoint !! I am a huge wing lover and Pizza Bella's wings are in my Top 3 for favorite wings. Their pizzas are always great as well. The dough is typically cooked perfectly and tHe toppings taste nice and fresh. We usually pick our order up from the restaurant.(Im not a huge fan of delivery) The inside is well taken care of and the employees are kind/ welcoming. I'd say the wait time at Pizza Bella is your average Atlanta Pizza wait time. But luckily if you go pick it up and have to wait you can always go get some groceries right next door at Kroger. The first time I try a new pizza place, I choose a plain cheese pizza--true test of a pizzeria's prowess. The crust showed the work of a master, paper thin yet strong enough to hold the cheese, crispy yet flexible at the same time. The sauce had a the tangy sweetness of fresh tomatoes, adorned by a luxuriously melted whole milk mozzarella cheese that was creamy and yet full of flavor. Next time (and there will be a next time!), I will take the deep dive into one of their many wonderful specialty pizzas. My partner's chicken alfredo pizza was a more intense experience. Grilled chicken paired with a creamy Alfredo sauce all atop that hand-crafted crust offered a sensory delight. Did I try a slice? Of course I did! If you want an authentic Neapolitan style pizza, this is the place. The owner is a really nice guy who knows how to make the perfect pizza pie. He uses a brick oven which adds a nice char to the crust. It takes me back to my trips to Italy. This is definitely my favorite pizza spot in Atlanta. I cannot enough good things about this place. I have been going to this restaurant for the last four years. When I first got there, it was under great management. The owner had a partnership with two other individuals, and they had 5-6 solid employees. Last year, he sold the business to these South Asians who insist on producing the lowliest quality food possible. I had gone several time in the last few months, and could barely get through the food. I went two days ago and was completely and utterly horrified. First, the owner is making his employees use 'artificial cheese' (see picture below). The menu prides itself on going gourmet, but the pizza slices tasted like a badly made mac and cheese from a box. Second, the bread was doughy and terrible. Third, I found a roach on the main counter (very close to the food) while I was eating (see video below). I spoke to the employee about it, and he said that he's been spraying the place himself, but that hasn't been working. Not to mention that the bathroom smells like total garbage. The meat they serve is alāl (Islamic/Muslim slaughtered meat), which I grew up eating. But it is a disservice to those who don't alāl meat to be forced to eat something that they don't know about. Before management, they use to serve alāl chickens in their sandwiches, but the quality was a thousand times better. Now all the meat is alāl, but it's also artificial and terribly tasting. Probably all al-Safa crap! I was told by one of the employees that the owner remarked that 'if the Jewish people found out that the meat is alāl, they would not come!' What a nasty thing to say! As a Muslim, I am appalled that people would cheat their customers left, right, and center. I hope the DHS comes after this place and shuts it down! He needs to stop using this restaurant as a front for tax rebates from his hotel profits! read more

I was told one price on the phone (and what is on their website) and when I got there to pick up the order they tried to charge me a higher price and told me that it was because the cost of their ingredients had gone up. I would love to write a review about how I have tried a lot of items on their menu, but the truth is that their calzones are so amazing I have never ordered anything else.
