Dining outdoors next to the lagoon just adds to the wood house setting. I ordered the infladitas de cochinita pibil as well as a dairy free flatbread (simpatica which was pepperoni, onions and sauce). The cochinita pibil was so good! The crunch from the deep fried infladita (tortilla) added a nice touch. The flatbed was really good considering there was no cheese. The server was very attentive and helpful with all my questions.

The fish skin was so tough it was the texture of rubber. The cochinita pibil had good flavor but was but it was basically a tostada with a very thin layer of pork on top. The food menu is extensive and features all the staples from the region and more! I ordered a Shrimp Ceviche to start, which was a really generous portion and it was enough for the whole table to share. The fish meat came out of the bones and it was really flavorful. the beers are cold and the service is fast!, cannot miss it! We started with what I am assuming is fish broth and it was so good I ordered a second bowl, both of which was gratis. They also provide fresh chips for the table. Since it was six of us, we all ordered items to share. I got one of my absolute favorite dishes - pescado frito. It was absolutely perfect. Crispy and flaky with the fish being super tender. It was served with rice, a slice of maduro and a small bowl of frijoles negro. If I could've kissed the chef, I would have. They also have a variety of habanero sauces - my favorite was the Jamaican one (of course!). Also ordered was the grilled sea bass, bacon wrapped shrimps and the seafood skewers. The only meal that wasnt excellent was the carne de res. It was a little dry. It was a relaxing atmosphere and the service was on point. Definitely a great little spot. I wish we has more like these stateside.

The owner was…read morethere and super nice but I have to say I didn't love the food - it was good - but the service was really not good unfortunately. Let me start with the service - I just think some more training would be helpful. Our waiter was a little all over the place. Removed some dishes but not others. We asked for water bunch of time to refill the bottle they leave on the table and didn't happen so asked other staff. And finally the food all came out at different times. I get maybe they bring as ready but there was a big gap between when we got the fish tacos, vs other plates. The food was good but not great. Lacked in flavor. I ordered the Arrachera plate and was a littler smaller than I thought based on pics I saw on TripAdvisor and price. Others ordered fish tacos, cauliflower, ceviche, queso fundido, guacamole. I personally thought the ceviche was the best. Anyway - check em out if ya want - maybe a little off the night I went.

We also ordered two drunk smoothies with two shots in each (basically blended alcoholic drinks). Out of what we ordered, here's what we got: -Filet fish, without extra tortillas, it was bad. -one blended smoothie with not alcohol to be tasted in it, and one regular mixed drink with seemingly only a shot in it -a small molcajete with decent guacamole and hard, overly greasy chips--this was the best thing on the table -the vegano burrito was okay, but flavorless And the fries that came on the side were too undercooked to want to eat -the ceviche had 8 pieces of fish that was basically just poke/sashimi because it hadn't soaked in the acid bath that is required to make ceviche, and it also had 10 pieces of shrimp, which was just basically Raw shrimp. The majority of what was on the plate was long, raw red onions and a third of a tomatoes that was sliced and laying on top. -I didn't order anything else because I didn't trust them to make anything good after everything we ordered was bad and they forgot our order of fries. The staff was also rude, and would walk away while we were still talking, and made no eye contact with us when we ordered or exchanged words. Our Spanish wasn't great, so perhaps they were just jaded about tourists
