Visited the wife's college town and had to hit a few spots up. Living in florida has made good pizza hard or come by so i was pumped to be in new york for a few days. Finally tried "cold cheese" (topping) pizza which was fine but not my style lol. Also ordered a buffalo chicken slice which was a go to back in my hometown in southern NY. It's definitely worth a stop if looking for a good slice, albeit i didn't really go anywhere else to compare it to. My wife ordered stuff shells which were a bit overloaded with ricotta (i get that some people may love that lol) but i lost the flavor of the sauce. Raw calzone, smelled of so much garlic it was probably inedible if cooked anyway. Waited 50 minutes and was not greeted and my order sat on a counter getting cold, and they apologized and handed it to me anyway and then refused to remake it. felt bad for the guy who brought his kids in. Last night placed an order around midnight for delivery for 5 subs 3 of which were suppose to have extra meat came out to look like a subway sub with 3 pieces of meat... A couple of the subs were suppose to be extra turkey extra mayo and that was it... one of them was a dry sub with shaving of what they say is turkey, it tasted horrid. The other might as well have been a dry sub... and they added lettuce for some reason. The other 3 subs were absolutely disgusting and not worth anything... I mean one of our subs had a bread tie in the box. We called to let them know and the lady that answered the phone simply said "sorry they are bad we are extremely busy, call Sal tomorrow to complain." I traveled to Plattsburgh and was looking for a place where I could get something for me and something for my kids. When traveling, I always try to support local businesses, but this experience is justification for the opposite! I call Monday evening and try to order my kids individual pizzas and a pasta dish for me. While the person is taking my order, someone barks from the background, No Pasta after 8! So, I was bummed, but told them never mind I'll try again another time. This is stated nowhere on the menu but oh well. The next day, I call at 7:12 PM and they take my order. They tell me 25-30 minutes. So I get there, and there's two people eating dinner in the dining room, two people waiting for their to go orders, and one person in line in front of me. There's three people working behind the counter and the older man who seemed to be in charge who was cooking was completely unmasked. I don't want to be "that" person and I'm fully vaccinated and starving, so I'm not going to make a big deal. After waiting 10 minutes, I get up to the counter (it's 7:55 now) and they the nice lady behind the counter cannot find my order. She says something to the older gentleman and then comes back to me and says "I'm sorry, he didn't have a chance to make yours yet. It will be another 20 minutes." I thanked her but explained, I couldn't wait 20 minutes as my kids were in the car waiting for me. She apologized and said it was due to the dinner rush. Really? One of my favorite places in Town. The lighting was low & the workers were quiet at the time we went but when we spoke with them they were friendly and has a smile on their face. Horrible rude customer service. We entered the restaurant and sat down, since there isn't a host. We were not even greeted by a waitress, since the staff seemed too busy playing darts instead of serving customers. instead we were told very rudely to leave because my friend, who has celiac disease, was eating outside food. They only did this because pizza bono is not safe for those with gluten allergies, and they wanted to come along with us to talk. We had no chance to explain this because this because after the guy told us to leave, he immediately walked away. My friend was very embarrassed and was already having a hard time because their disease doesn't allow them to eat with friends. Staff were too busy playing darts to help us as we sat there waiting to be greeted. We stopped here for our date night dinner after driving around NY for a while. As soon as you walk in, you are tempted by a large selection of slices to pick from or you can sit down and pick from a menu. We sat down and after a short time browsing the menu we ordered. Chicken Alfredo for my husband, stuffed shells for me and a side of garlic bread with cheese. First thing we got was a some of their house made bread, then we waited and waited for our main dishes. The food was a 5 out of 5, the stuffed shells were piping hot and freshly made, right out of the oven! My husband loved his alfredo saying it was light, creamy and not overly flavorful, it worked out well. The garlic bread was buttery, cheesy and perfect. The salad was fresh, the cheese was really good and the ranch seemed heavenly, creamy and thick. Perfect for salad or dipping a slice of pizza in. I also got a cannoli to go. It made for a awesome wake up snack after a long nap, the cannoli was one of the best I've had! Now for our issue: a 50 ish minute wait. It felt like we were there for so long, people coming and going as we are just there waiting. Afterwards, while taking a walk around and grabbing a coffee for the hour-long trip home, we discussed the rating for yelp, 3 1/2 stars but since there are no half stars we opted for 3, that was before the cannoli. It was just so good! Now 4 stars! All and all, if you are strapped for time get a slice! If you have the time, the pasta is worth it. I was a fan of their "cold -cheese" slices back in the 90s after a night out. Fast-Forward to today when I'm older, wiser and have more sophisticated taste buds and that cold-cheese slice is still delicious. I'm sure the ownership has changed along with the recipes but I enjoyed every bite. If you're wondering what is this cold-cheese slice...it's a piping hot slice of cheese pizza that's topped with a handful of cold shredded mozzarella as soon as it comes out of the oven.
