Finally got a chance to get over to Pizza Boyz to try the brisket pizza that everyone has been going crazy about. I wasn't disappointed. It was great! The shop is nestled in the corner next to a taekwondo school. Small but very clean, they had a music going, very inviting. I was greeted with a smile, my order was ready and paid, so there wasn't much convo. Very pleasant exchange, and then I dug in! The jerk wings were spicy and on point, cheesy bread was still hot. I give it 5 stars! Will definitely return. This is my new favorite spot. read more

My friends and I have been going to every Pizza place in Sacramento so of course we had to come in and try Pizza Boyz. From my understanding, it's a fairly new restaurant. I only found out about it because Yelp gave me a notification that there was a new place it recommended I try. The parking lot is very easy to get into which is definitely a plus. The staff was very friendly and helpful when we were asking questions about their specialty pizzas. I've never seen anywhere offer a brisket pizza but they had one here. In order to give a fair review though we ordered an extra-large pepperoni to keep it uniform with the other places we review. The main portion of this review is about the extra-large pepperoni pizza we ate. It cost us 17$ for it (not accounting for tip) and was a 18". When we first opened up the box it looked super greasy, but when we actually bit into it, it actually wasn't. The sauce they used had a nice subtle spice to it, but not a lot of sauce itself. The pizza had a unique flavor when compared to other places, but overall it kind of fell short. The crust wasn't special but it was passable. The pepperonis themselves caused some controversy within the group. Some people loved them while others felt they were lackluster. Overall, this pizza was a great price, had decent flavor, but just wasn't anything special when compared to many other places. Because of that, we're giving it a 5/10 which is our rating for an average pizza. read more

I have been wanting to try this spot for awhile since moving to Citrus Heights, and I am very glad I finally made it! My boyfriend and I ordered the lemon pepper wings, and a large pizza that was half garlic chicken and half garden veggie. We called our order in ahead of time, and was pleasantly surprised when the owner called us to let us know our order was ready! The lemon pepper wings were cooked perfectly with the right amount crisp, but the lemon pepper flavor was not quite as strong as I was hoping. The pizza was the perfect thickness, not paper thin, but not a deep dish. The white sauce was perfectly creamy, and I loved the variety of vegetables! The one mistake we made was forgetting to ask for ranch, so we will back for round 2 read more

Pizza crust was unimpressive. Pizza sauce was unimpressive The mushrooms tasted canned. The best thing here was the brisket on the pizza. It was actually very good. Overall the pizza here needs a ton of work but it is a new shop The wings look 10/10 in presentation but the taste is below average. The habanero is not hot at all. I really enjoyed my experience here. The gentleman helping were so pleasant. They answered my questions about halal and their experience at the shop. I ordered the large halal pizza. They showed me how the pizza looked at the store and it looked DELICIOUS. After eating the entire pizza, it tasted better than how it looked. The sauce was tangy and delicious. So amazing! My friend and I came across this place through Instagram ads and we knew we had to try once we saw the pictures and menu. It did not disappoint! We got half brisket bbq and half carne asada and then half cheeseburger and half Caribbean jerk, and a side of the cheesy bread. It's hard to say which pizza was my favorite because I was impressed by them all. The cheesy bread however has gyro in it and is by far different than anything I've ever had, we are obsessed now! Wonderful pizza, we loved it! This was our first time ordering from Pizza Boyz, so we picked one of their classic pizzas, and a plain cheese, because we always test a new pizza place by their cheese pizza. It's a common baseline for pizza everywhere, right? So, we ordered the Mediterranean pizza and a cheese pizza, and both we fantastic! The Mediterranean had a white sauce base, with tomatoes, gyro meat, pepperocini, olives, feta, onions, and parsley. The flavor was divine, I will definitely be ordering that again! The cheese pizza was also wonderful, plenty of cheese, flavorful sauce, and cooked perfectly with lots of beautiful little golden brown cheese bubbles on top. Both pizzas were absolutely delicious. Now, the part that really made the pizzas go from great to amazing.....the CRUST. The crust was perfection. Crisp yet chewy, just the right thickness, great flavor, it had it all. Everyone agreed the crust was terrific, and there was not one single "pizza bone" left. Good pizza, called in an order told me it would be 20 minutes. I arrive 20 minutes later and they put the pizza in the oven right then didn't take too long to cook but idk if I was in a bad mood I would have probably been annoyed at that but it was only one young person working that night and I wasn't in a rush so I didn't care much. Beware this restaurant is under new ownership and is no longer halal. They have not updated Yelp. Do not place an order via Slice on their website. I was under the impression that the restaurant is halal since that's what it says here, placed an order, asked the owner when I got to the restaurant and she did not know what halal is. She instructed me to get a refund directly from Slice and the assistants with Slice cannot get ahold of the restaurant. Refund is nowhere to be found. If you're gonna have a restaurant be proactive and update your pages and don't have false advertising of halal. read more

I'm not big on writing reviews, I'll share a few thoughts. I had a carne asada/ brisket pizza. Every review I read rated it highly. When I got it home the crust looked flat and was as paper. I'm used to having the dough tossed it was obvious this pizza wasn't. I won't completely trust reviews again. Two slices is all I had I feel bad for not getting a good tasty pizza. Also tossing out my dinner and wasting food is something I never do. Thank you for responding to my review, however I won't be able to come in again. I visited this spot over the Fourth of July weekend the wait was a little long but they took care of me.. This was my first visit to Pizza Boyz. I ordered a medium thin crust Buffalo Ranch. Owner stated he did his best to give me a thin crust but they aren't known for offering thin crust pizza. The Buffalo Ranch offers both red and green onion in addition to parsley for veggies. Nothing I like better than a good carmelized red onion but both the green and red onions were sliced so thin that they were virtually indiscernible on the pizza. Thus, not enough onion flavor. They also could have used a little more drizzle sauce. Pizza had good flavor but lacked enough texture offered by carmelized and green onions. read more

I've been wanting to try their special pizzas for a while now and man did they not disappoint! I had a half Carne Asada half Caribbean Jerk and they were such unique flavors. I didn't really know what to expect, the carne asada isn't your traditional carne asada flavors but it was good, had quite a kick to it, as did the Caribbean Jerk, very very solid flavors on both. Not greasy at all and very well cooked, definitely coming back to try the other special pizzas. Also, huge plus the staff seem to be super nice! Even plugged me a with a soda on the house! i can't believe all the good reviews for this place. i went here because i didn't know that new york pizza was no longer there. but i thought i would give them a shot and i regretted it. when i went there were no prices on the menue so i had to ask the prices of every thing. apparently they are a halal pizza place which is something they should say up front. when i think bacon i think pork but thats not what i got here. the sauce was terrible and the whole experiance was just so bad. i'm so bummed that new york pizza is gone because i live near this place but i'll never go back here again. read more

I went and checked on this place after I saw my acupuncturist across the street. I thought that the gentleman behind the counter was kind of saucy but it was okay. I didn't know what kind of pizza exactly to order from him, so he suggested the brisket pizza. It had hardly any brisket on it at all and the pieces that were on it were so small it was ridiculous. The most bomb pizza and kind service, went in there and not only does he make an extremely flavorful. Perfectly thin and tasty pizza but he also has the kindest heart and service as he personally wrote down his name and number on a sticky note and told me to call him if I had any sort of issues with the pizza and that he'll resolve it.
